3/5The FIX for this App not working
After watching a Pentair video about troubleshooting, I NOW KNOW that if you want to have this App working again after it quits, YOU HAVE TO TAKE A PAPERCLIP AND PRESS THE RESET BUTTON ON THE “PROTOCOL ADAPTER” (that little communications box that has the red light on the front) THREE TIMES WITH A HALF SECOND BETWEEN EACH PRESS - and then the system should function properly. You’re welcome. Now that my system is working properly again, I love it. But like many of you I was disappointed when it quit. Suggestion to Pentair: instead of the hole in the Protocol Adapter being labeled “Reset” consider adding the words “Press 3x with a 1/2 sec delay between each press” - because a single press, or a long press won’t actually reset it and that’s different than the rest of the IT world.

5/5Yea!!! 7.7 fixed things!!! Can now use WiFi to log into the controller! Thanks!!!!
Yea!!! 7.7 fixed things!!! Can now use WiFi to log into the controller! Thanks!!! It’s been almost a MONTH since Pentair pushed this update and they STILL haven’t fixed it or reverted to the previous version. It shouldn’t be that HARD to fix or pull the update and post the old version. Makes me think that Pentair broke it on purpose to enable them to kill off support for the older versions of the control panel hardware to force everyone to buy new hardware. LAME!!! Update to “Fix Bugs” on July 2nd Totally Broke This App. Worked great for 7 years. After the update on July 2nd 2024 the app now sits at “Waiting For WiFi” on the local screen and will not connect remotely. SLConfig will still connect both locally and remotely so I know it’s the app. Have tried rebooting the router, the protocol adapter and the pool panel. Nothing works. Every one of my devices (3 iPhones and 2 iPads) that updated to this version no longer connect. Fix this Pentair!!! Your bug fixes and enhancements totally killed the app.

4/5Useful, but w/ recurring issues
Core functionality for controlling pool equipment & lights is solid. There are two recurring bugs causing headaches I’d like to see fixed: 1) the SL Widget often loses connection to pool sensors. Currently, using ScreenLogic 7.7 w/ iOS 17.6.1, the widget cannot connect to display any sensor information, even though the app can. The proven workaround of using “Remote” connection with SL over cellular data (not local wifi network) to re-establish a widget connection has failed. As has deleting & reinstalling the SL app. 2) the SL app Delays & Alerts function shows the recurring “System Alert” of “Lost communication with pump” but with no time/datestamp or further indications of how to troubleshoot. The app history display indicates my equipment Schedules are running as programmed. For the Alerts function to be of use and not just annoyance, more detailed information is needed.

1/5Killed Alexa. App looks like 2005. And the last update was “1y ago”…
Today's pool opening surprise: Pentair is killing Alexa support. Of course they are. The hardware is great. The app is something else entirely. We are living through the most accessible era of software development in history. A teenager with an AI coding assistant can ship a better-looking, more reliable iOS app in a weekend than what Pentair has produced in a decade. ScreenLogic Connect looks like a high school project from twenty years ago, the connection logic is famously flaky, and the official troubleshooting step is to take a paperclip and press the protocol adapter's reset button exactly three times with a half-second gap between presses. I am not making that up. That is the documented fix in 2026. Meanwhile, unpaid volunteers on GitHub have written Homebridge plugins and a Home Assistant integration that talk directly to the gateway, skip the Pentair cloud entirely, and never break. The most reliable Pentair software is software Pentair didn't write. Read that sentence twice. If you're shopping for pool automation right now: the Pentair hardware is fine, but plan to control it through Homebridge or Home Assistant from day one. Do not build your routines on the official app or the official skills. They will be discontinued, broken, or 'improved' into uselessness on a regular schedule. Pentair, please hire a real software team. Or just adopt the open-source projects that already work better than yours. Anything would be an upgrade.

3/5Buggy Scheduler
App is pretty good most of the time but the Scheduler is awful. It’s very buggy and trying to use iOS controls for setting time and adding new events causes it to mistakenly edit different events. When you attempt to add a new event, it does not correctly add the new one you selected, often duplicating a named one already in the Schedule rather than the new one you selected to add. Then, to make matters worse, your planned new timers for the new event modify the existing named one that you didn’t want to change. This needs a fix and they need to add the ability to reorder the scheduled items in the list.

Apple Watch support! Enjoy our new Apple Watch interface for ScreenLogic. Includes Pool, Spa, Circuits (on/off), Lights (on/off), IntelliChlor and IntelliChem support. The list of previous connections from ScreenLogic Connect on your iPhone will automatically sync to your watch. Apple Watch remembers wifi hotspots that your phone has previously connected to so you can login to your pool without having your iPhone nearby. Scheduled program support. Now you can add, remove, and modify your schedules all from the convenience of your iPhone or iPad. Time/Date Sync. The time and date from your highly accurate iPhone and iPad will be synchronized to your EasyTouch or IntelliTouch system automatically each time you connect locally. We disable this feature for obvious reasons if you connect to a pool remotely. Enabled by default, this feature can be disabled in the iOS Settings. Look for ScreenLogic under the list of installed apps.

Added new Complication and Glance views for Apple Watch. It's amazing to control and view your pool info from your wrist...anywhere! Time and Date sync (iPhone or iPad to IntelliTouch and EasyTouch system) is now turned OFF by default. Please note that if enabled on IntelliTouch systems, it will result in the filter pump turning off for approximately 15 seconds after the time and date have been set. Time and Date sync can be enabled in the Settings icon (scroll down the list for the ScreenLogic app entry). It is recommended that EasyTouch users enable this feature. Hiding circuits has been fixed. Set the name for any circuit (such as Pool or Spa, High Temp or Low Temp) to [Not Used]. This will hide it from the interface. Please report any problems to [email protected] We are working hard to make this app better for you!

iOS time/date sync to automation turned off by default. This was causing older IntelliTouch systems with IntelliFlo pumps to temporarily turn off the pump when the app started. Settings have been moved from the iOS Settings app to a new Settings area on the Main Menu.

7.4
We are working hard to make ScreenLogic better! This release fixes two regressions: 1. Set temperatures would not stick for Celsius users. 2. Cyanuric Acid level would not stick for IntelliChem automatic chemical control users. IntelliChem automatically and precisely manages the pH and chlorine levels in your pool. FIX: Unknown and None schedules have been removed from the Scheduled Programs area. Having a ScreenLogic problem? We are here to help! Email us at [email protected] - we can work with you remotely to get you up and running in no time! Often times, a simple press of the reset button on your EasyTouch or IntelliTouch panel at the equipment pad will do the trick. Other times, cycling power to the protocol adapter or indoor and outdoor wireless links may be required. Always use the latest firmware on your protocol adapter.
