3/5Would be great if everything worked
The navigation is great… when it feels like working. Here’s the issues I had. If you get off course, it stops working. It only gives you directions if you’re on the route. That wasn’t my problem. I’m ok with that. BUT… when you get back on course, it doesn’t always come back. They say you have to wait until you come to a point where direction is needed and then it will start navigating again but this isn’t true. Mine disconnected from me when I parked in St Louis. I walked to the Arch, took some pics, got back to my car and left. I got back on 66 and drove out of town, making several turns over the next few hours and the navigation never came back on. I messaged support and their response was basically “You’re wrong. There’s not a problem.” This happened to me several times during my trip. I messaged support again and they never bothered to respond to me a second time. I learned to just close the app, power off my phone, turn it back on and everything was fine. But when it was working, it was great. My other issue is the Passport. I’d go to a Point of Interest and the app would say “Congratulations. Your Passport has been stamped.”. This happened a bunch of times. Yet I open my passport on the app, and there’s nothing. Just blank pages. My trip is now over but my stats are blank and says I’ve done 0 trips. It honestly feels like an app that’s still under development and most of the features just don’t work yet. I liked it. Definitely didn’t love it.

5/5Route 66 was the Best
Downloaded this app two years ago to prep for my version - West to East - of this epic road trip. I used it daily to map out, plan and devise all the stops I was planning to make. Almost all the stops were still in existence and either open or at the very least, viewable. Some could have used a bit more description, but I also brought along my iPad Air with which I could really zoom in (using Google maps) to find the true Old Route 66 and Historic Route 66 roadways, which made the trip even more memorable. I really have no complaints about this app, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who may be or wants to or is, planning to drive the Mother Road. You can’t go wrong! I have had no problems logging in or downloading map updates at any time, so perhaps some of the kinks people have mentioned have Ben worked out…

5/5Great app
Started using this app in 2019 when my wife and I did the Western portion. Had some difficulties getting it to work across all my devices but found it useful. While we were in Midland, TX, the owner/developer happen to be there and I mentioned my issues. He was very attentive and helpful in getting them resolved stating that the app was a work in progress (which most apps go through) and let him know if I continue to have issues. I believe that the app has come a long way since then, and would highly recommend using while on the journey (as we did in 2021) as it continues to change (just like the Route itself).

5/5Customer service, WOW!!!
I downloaded the app the other day and couldn’t get logged in. I started a text stream with support and after about 2 hours of us trying different things like, deleting the app, changing WI-FI settings, reinstalling the app on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, support said that they’d pass the issue over to the back room guys and they’d get on the issue. I’ve been told similar and had to wait weeks for a solution. Well, Tuesday morning I received an email from support saying the issue had been resolved, they had corrected the issue!!! Overnight they did that! Customer service with the Route 66 Ultimate Guide is the best I’ve EVER encountered!

5/5Great resource
I had bought a number of books and maps for touring Route 66, but ultimately found to be ineffective when you’re behind the wheel in the car. this app along with another one or two, Route 66 apps Prue to be very helpful while interactively sightseeing and driving along the route. So far we have only driven the Arizona portion of the route, but being able to see the stops along the route tag the ones you’re wanting to see, marking the ones you have seen, is very, very handy, for both before during, and even after the trip to remember what you did see
