   Big THANK YOU to the Manager at the Pendleton Pike location Lemar McNeil for helping find an affordable washing machine and dryer for my daughter and granddaughter to purchase! His commitment and communication with me really set the standard for excellent customer service, compassion and consistency. Despite the obstacles Lemar kept his word and came through for us. That alone is reason enough for me to remain a returning customer in the future. *update on the previous review* The washing machine needed some maintenance and even though I reached out to Lemar for his assistance. He said he didn’t really want to sell me the unit because he had concerns about the condition but would speak with his supervisor to see what could be done. He didn’t respond back so I paid someone from. Thumbtack to come out and have it fixed. I guess as long as everything is going well you will get outstanding service, but the moment things go wrong with their merchandise you get ghosted. The dryer still works (for now) but my daughter will need a new washing machine since the one purchased at RAC won’t even turn on any longer.

   I have had an account with you for years. All the staff(with the exception of the current) always made me come back. They kept an eye out for things I would mention I wanted on my wish list. I always felt like such a valued customer. I felt like they were interested in keeping me a customer. If I ever had a bump in the road payment wise they would help me solve the problem. Any time I got something new, they kept me updated as to when a delivery could be expected. Ever since the change, I get pestered the day of the payment. I get talked down to. I get reminded of my terms. Two payments came out of my account. I was told there was no way that could happen. I was refunded one of the payments. I was told by SSI that I made too much money and that the 2700 payment that was due to me in 3 days wasn’t going to come. It’s put me in a rough position. I am digging my way out. I saw a bedroom set that was used that I was interested i. I was told about the 6.07 start payment towards the set. They told me they would take in out. 4-5 days later I was calling to find out what was going on with my delivery. I didn’t receive a call to let me know. Instead I had to call them to be told. Because of Covid we can’t find anyone to deliver it. We set another date then nothing. I don’t even think I want it anymore. Customer since 2017 I have given a lot of money to rent a center. Probably pay the things I have left and be done.

   The app works great but can’t say the same for my local store in Dunkirk n.y. I can’t even begin to describe the horrendous way you are treated by the staff at this place!!! They refuse to give me the parts for my ebike that they didn’t send with it. Yet they come to my home banging on my door the date my payment is due!! The manager mike does not like me and he treats me worst than u can imagine seeing this is a business!! I have no idea why as I never met this guy nor do I even know him. And if I’m a day late omg he says he’s sending someone for my bike and just get this over with and turn it in. All this and they absolutely refuse to give me my parts I tried calling corporate twice and they told me I would receive a call back by a district manager and of course nothing. Mike the manager told me to go ahead and call corporate he don’t have to listen to them and he don’t care what they say!! Rent a center is a horrible business and I would STRONGLY advise going to Aaron’s or arona. UPDATE I’m not sure what the reason but the manager has been a lot more respectful towards me and has been treating me like I would expect as a customer. I want to be totally truthful about my experience so I feel I have to include this!! They probably read this but I’m glad things changed

4. 1/5Worst customer service

   I have had nothing but issues with the store in Winnsboro, South Carolina. The people there are very, very rude and smoke inside of the business which gets all over the furniture. I have tried and tried and tried to switch my store. Nobody calls me back. The general manager doesn’t care about her stores obviously because she allows her store manager at the Winnsboro location to smoke indoors and be completely rude to customers. Well rude to good customers. Haven’t heard anything from any other store not the general manager or anybody else for that matter. As soon as I’m done paying my furniture off, I will never ever buy again from a Rent-A-Center. I have been a Rent-A-Center customer for years now and I have always paid good and paid things off and this is how I get treated? I would just like everyone to know never ever to deal with the Rent-A-Center in Winnsboro, South Carolina or the general manager for these locations. Lexington county is the only Rent-A-Center I will ever use. They are kind and generous and compassionate and professional. I’ve always liked Rent-A-Center until I had to deal with this store. Now I hate Rent-A-Center and will never buy their ever again and neither of my family. Some people in my family actually stage houses with furniture from Rent-A-Center so trust me when I say Rent-A-Center is about to lose a lot of customers.

5. 2/5NOT WORTH THE DRAMA

   I have been renting from RAC for a lil minute now. I’d say about two years. I have plenty of pieces of furniture from them. The store in Rosenberg Tx was amazing. Everyone in there knew how to have great customer service. I moved to Houston and I ended up being at the Hillcroft store. Worst decision of my life! Everything seemed cool at first. I had paid off my bed frame in Rosenberg. Built really good rapport and a great record. I ended up getting a mattress and a tv. Paid the mattress off! FAST! I got a set of bunk beds for my kids. I was current on my payments. I wanted to send the tv back because I started using projectors. Then the manager at the store started being weird! Never came for the tv. I told him that I had just had surgery and they have to come get it because I can’t lift or bring it. Took them a week. I ended up moving it. It got a lil damage. So, he was like he’s coming to get my kids beds if I don’t pay for the tv. I said you can’t do that because I’m current. Why he told me basically if I don’t let him in he’s coming in anyways. I said is that a threat. He said just watch! Once I pay my kids beds off, I’m done with them. I got threatened with kids in my house and RAC did nothing but tell me to pay 250 for the tv and I’ll be good. SMH.. my kids were terrified!!
