I downloaded this app initially while I was traveling with the kids to be able to read to them and not have to pack books. I didn’t intend to subscribe but I chose to and will continue! This has been an amazing experience and contribution to my littles affinity with reading. We incorporate the prints, and always take the quizzes (the littles LOVE the quizzes)! The other language options are helpful as they are learning multiple languages. The best part is there are stories for all the ages of my littles. The stories are fantastic, loaded with wit or wisdom. The youngest (3) loves the series of multiple books. The kids love earning their badges too! What a fantastic find. Thank you ReadMio!

5/5Great professionally-developed app part of our nightly routine.
Readmio is very well done, from the illustrations to the narrations to the interactive sound effects and the bedtime music. Our family tries to limit our child’s exposure to screens, and I think Readmio does a great job striking the balance between sparking enough of our child’s interest when we show the illustrations to spark curiosity in the stories and showing text-only. Even with all the generative alternatives now and in the future, we think be thanking the creators of Readmio by subscribing for a long time.

im a 23 year old adult(as of january 21st!🙂5 days ago)male and im going to enjoy this app to learn new and relearn classic stories from childhood as they all have very good deeper underlying morals and as someone who is very interested in psychology, the way people think what/how they think, why people do what they do, and new ways to think/look at things im going to find this app very interesting and insightful and i think people(yeah… you) should realize that "bedtime" and "kids" stories can be useful and interesting for more than just kids. thanks for coming to my ted talk. ;)

Readmio is a game changer for reading to kids! We love the bedtime stories and my kids love the sound effects. I also like that you can print the worksheets out after reading to add an educational aspect and help with reading comprehension. Plus the audiobooks are great - especially when travelling!

4/5Interesting story app with a couple of drawbacks
As a mother of four kids under the age of 7, I always have to have a few tricks up my sleeve to keep the bedtime routine moving along with as few complaints and distractions as possible. Bedtime stories are a necessity for cuing little minds and bodies to wind down, but every night presents with different needs and requirements. I have found that not only is it important to choose appropriate story topics as they relate to the children’s ever-changing interests, questions, fears, and challenges, but the format is also key. Picture books with intricate illustrations are good for energetic nights, emergent reader books are perfect for boosting confidence and practicing independent reading, shorter stories are useful for tired nights, nonfiction books are great on nights filled with endless questions, audiobooks are a necessity on tired- or sick-mommy nights, and so on. This app provides a completely different and unique option: stories read by mommy (or the app itself) with sound effects! The sounds are appropriately spaced out and well-timed, cute, funny, and realistic. The children enjoy the stories and often fall asleep quickly and easily. One complaint I have about this app is that sometimes the sounds last for too long or are unexpectedly loud, which can either startle a child drifting off to sleep, or it can make it harder to read along with. I am also surprised to see religious/Christian content without any representation of other religions/cultures. Either include stories from a variety of religions/cultures, or don’t include any at all. While American culture tends to embrace Christianity more readily than other religions, it should not be included in a children’s story app unless explicitly marketed as such. I’m pretty sure that if the app included stories from any other religious affiliation and only one kind, it would not have been downloaded even a fraction of the number of times nor would it have garnered as many 5 star reviews as it has. Other than those two drawbacks, I’d say the app is a nice addition to have in my arsenal for battling bedtime bedlam.

My daughter and I love this app! We use it every day and we enjoy the stories, activity sheets, and coloring pages. I highly recommend it. My only suggestion is to include listened-to stories in the Profile statistics, not just the ones that were read. Listening to your wonderful storytellers should count too!

Oh, boy. This was bad. The concept is great, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. My son is 7. We still read him a story every night. I read him the free story from the app tonight, but we didn't even finish it. It was incredibly boring and he didn't like the fact there were no illustrations at all. I love the sound effects. I'd absolutely pay for an app that listens while you read your own book and plays sound effects when you say certain words. But this I'm not paying for.

          "title": "Interesting story app with a couple of drawbacks",
          "body": "As a mother of four kids under the age of 7, I always have to have a few tricks up my sleeve to keep the bedtime routine moving along with as few complaints and distractions as possible. Bedtime stories are a necessity for cuing little minds and bodies to wind down, but every night presents with different needs and requirements. I have found that not only is it important to choose appropriate story topics as they relate to the children’s ever-changing interests, questions, fears, and challenges, but the format is also key. Picture books with intricate illustrations are good for energetic nights, emergent reader books are perfect for boosting confidence and practicing independent reading, shorter stories are useful for tired nights, nonfiction books are great on nights filled with endless questions, audiobooks are a necessity on tired- or sick-mommy nights, and so on. This app provides a completely different and unique option: stories read by mommy (or the app itself) with sound effects! The sounds are appropriately spaced out and well-timed, cute, funny, and realistic. The children enjoy the stories and often fall asleep quickly and easily. One complaint I have about this app is that sometimes the sounds last for too long or are unexpectedly loud, which can either startle a child drifting off to sleep, or it can make it harder to read along with. I am also surprised to see religious/Christian content without any representation of other religions/cultures. Either include stories from a variety of religions/cultures, or don’t include any at all. While American culture tends to embrace Christianity more readily than other religions, it should not be included in a children’s story app unless explicitly marketed as such. I’m pretty sure that if the app included stories from any other religious affiliation and only one kind, it would not have been downloaded even a fraction of the number of times nor would it have garnered as many 5 star reviews as it has. Other than those two drawbacks, I’d say the app is a nice addition to have in my arsenal for battling bedtime bedlam.",

I read him the free story from the app tonight, but we didn't even finish it. It was incredibly boring and he didn't like the fact there were no illustrations at all. I love the sound effects. I'd absolutely pay for an app that listens while you read your own book and plays sound effects when you say certain words. But this I'm not paying for.",
