4/5Just missing a few QoL improvements
This is such a flexible and awesome ebook reader. The ability to import a folder of books from iCloud makes managing my collection so easy, since I can do it with other software and have it all sync to the scan-folder. It has pretty much exactly the right amount of features without going overboard (though I certainly wouldn’t mind the ability to full customize every aspect of the reading view, colors, custom fonts, etc.). The ONE THING it is missing is iCloud syncing. I would really like to be able to go back and forth between my iPhone and iPad without having to spend the time, every time, to figure out where I left off. And even more so, that saves and highlights are not synced. It makes me feel like I can only read on one device, which I really don’t like, but I’m still using the app because it’s still the most flexible for the other mentioned reasons.

5/5It seemed sketchy at first...
But in the end, I have grown quite fond of this app! Its reliance on passively scanning a whole folder means that you do not have to manually import every book you want, and can build a massive library over time; if the app stops working, you still can retain your data by using it that way. Not only that, but it has generally the same set of reading features across different document types; even raw text files! You won't have to convert every book you get to EPUB, since it can scan and read them all. Its system of sorting in the menu is a nice pleasure, and allows you to remember which books you are reading, have read, and enjoyed. You can save bookmarks, add notes; anything you would expect from a regular application... Not only this, but it is also free. God praise the developers of this app for keeping it free for us all, without any in app purchases either, and no advertisements. It is a single-page reader though, and I have gotten quite used to that since using it, since it actually proves to be quite a comfortable experience with larger text and an easier tracking in paragraphs. The paragraph separation is large by default, but everything about the reading experience can be adjusted to perfection if you look around enough. It's true; I thought it was sketchy at first, like many of the other Chinese e-reader apps which try to make too many features work and have none of them succeed, but in fact this app fulfills every promise it set forward in the beginning. Previously, I used some apps for PDFs, some for text files, and my EPUBs were split up between all three; now with Readera I have a more unified library and I don't have to stress about which book is where. I applaud this work, and it should be an example of a well-done program that understood its intended purpose and limits, and succeeded in everything it planned to do.

5/5Best App for Far
The best app I’ve found so far! Here’s how to use/avoid hiccups: 1. I saw a review complaining about the page jumps and although that can be annoying it was actually a blessing in disguise. The page jumps happen 1) if you’re in the table of contents and you press on the chapters name (ex. Chapter 9: The Everafter) the app will automatically jump to that chapter. It can also happen when 2) you press on the chapter name (ex. You’re reading chapter 7 and you press on the CHAPTER 7 in bold letters) it will jump you back to the table of contents. This can easily be avoided by not pressing on the Chapters name. It’s just an easy way for people to go from chapter to chapter without going into the settings and yes it can be finicky but I like the flexibility. 2. EPUBs work best for this as you can edit your font, word spacing, line spacing and so on vs PDF you are stuck with whatever font and spacing the book is premade with. If you do have a PDF you can easily convert it online and then upload it. 3. There is no way of getting rid of the line in between the pages, I’ve tried everything and haven’t go far so learn to live with it since it doesn’t harm you or the book lol. That’s all that I can say! The app is amazing and I love using it! I’ve downloaded and uploaded at least 30-50 books and it doesn’t affect the app at all. It loads up fast and remembers the place you left off app! No need for a bookmark or worries that you’ll lose your spot as it tracks your reading with you!

5/5Privacy Respecting and Simple
Edit: I tried giving this 5 stars but for some reason it’s showing 3. I want to give this app 5 stars!!! This app is everything I need for reading my epubs and cbz or pdf comics. I adore the privacy respect, as no other app has come close to this — there aren’t even analytics for this app, which I really appreciate. This isn’t a battery drain, either, and I’m usually reading for several hours at a time. A great addition would be if there were a way to better sort my collection of books and comics, other than just in the “have read” or “to read”. However, this isn’t a huge deal, really. The only other thing I wish is that I could select words in the app and use the “look up” option, as I’m able to everywhere else across iOS, because sometimes I come across vocabulary I don’t know, making it a bit tedious to copy and paste it somewhere else to look up. But again, this isn’t enough to subtract from the rating. Thank you so much for making reading accessible for free, without a bunch of spyware, and the ability to read anywhere, offline. I love the simplicity. Even without the above mentioned, if this app just stayed how it is, I would be content.

5/5Great ebook reader that is part of my daily workflow
Have been using this ebook reader for a couple weeks now. I initially downloaded it to try because developer claims the app won’t collect any personal info related to me or my device. I stuck with the app because of how well it works. Without having to first download EPUB files to my computer and then sync to my iOS devices I was able to download the most modern version of EPUB files directly from the web to my iOS devices and then open in this ebook reader. I’ve also recently begun using the notenik app on macOS for notes, journaling, and task management. EPUB files generated by Notenik are viewed perfectly by this ebook reader. EPUB files have great utility outside of reading books authored or published by others. This app makes a great compliment to notenik for those who incorporate a “get things done” methodology and workflow with Notenik. Knowledge Management is front and center stage here. Readera, this app, is therefore now part and parcel of my most frequently used apps. Enhancement requests: (1) Basic search within an open document (2) highlighting text for word lookup using built in iOS dictionary, copying, etc - in essence, the same text handling found throughout iOS
