This app is very easy to use. Traveling by train is a little confusing especially if you don’t speak the language. With this app everything is done on the phone. When traveling in Spain the phone pdf for the tickets is all you need. No paper needed !

4/5Latest update not user friendly
I have been using this app successfully for past few weeks to plan trip within Europe. Since yesterday I am noticing the interface is not as user friendly and is freezing. There was a slider to select departure time which is now replaced by a drop down which is not as user friendly and is freezing regularly. After search results are displayed there was a back button to go back to the initial search field which retained the old search data. It was easy to toggle directions and continue with next search. This back button to go back to search is no longer available. As a result we have to start again by using Search at the bottom of the screen which opens a blank search form. This is not user friendly. Not sure if these changes were intentional, these changes make planning trips more difficult.

1/5Book your train directly, don’t use this middleman
We purchased tickets for German Rail through this provider with a seat reservation. They took our money and never transmitted it to the rail provider. We confirmed this once we got to Germany. We contacted Rail Europe and got numerous excuses about how reservations were not yet available, but the bottom line was they kept our money, we got a ticket without a reservation and they didn’t even have the decency to give the money back, they just gave excuses. From now on we will book directly from the rail company, no need for a middleman.

If you have purchased tickets and didn’t log into your app, it says that when you open the app that your tickets should be there. The ticket I purchased in the app is there. The ticket I purchased with the same name and same credit card earlier this week is not there! there should be a fix for that. Just a suggestion.

1/5This app stinks
I just bought a rail pass and always had paper. This is the first time using mobile and there is no tutorial that matches what this app looks like. I loaded my pass and the start date on it is different than what I booked. I also go to view the pass and have no idea how to “connect a trip”. we won’t know what trains we are taking till each day we are there. And there is no way to contact Rail Europe. It would be nice to have the paper option again or an app that gives more tutorials.

Search function is not functional on android (13). Screen flashes briefly when you click search and there is no way to enter a journey. This is clearly not a new problem - there are reviews going back a long way. It's fundamental to whether or not the app is fit for purpose, so whoever is running this business is pretty hopeless. The user experience is not seamless.

You may as well just use the (good) website in a browser. The app is useless: - tickets are not stored offline, so if the inspector comes in a tunnel you have nothing to show - on a poor connection the app barely opens - pdf tickets open but don't zoom, so are basically useless - if you end up on a help screen the back button closes the app, rather than getting you back to bookings etc

The app works well and stores my compulsory train seat reservations for easy access. I have an Interrail train pass. Rail Europe was very useful for booking compulsory train reservations on my route eg Paris to Berlin, and Eurostar trains. Unfortunately I couldn't find a way of booking reservations for trains when it was not compulsory, but I still wanted to ensure I had a seat eg Dresden to Aachen. I would like to be able to do that too but had to use the Deutsche bahn website.

Awful app. No biometric login so might as well be using the website. When you open the PDF with the tickets, it doesn't allow you to resize, so they wouldn't be scannable, so might as well use the ones for the confirmation email. In short this app is completely redundant. If anyone was paid for this slop you need your heads examined.
