  1. 5/5Dissatisfied

PureGym is disappointing overall. Multiple machines are frequently out of order or malfunctioning, which makes workouts frustrating and inconsistent. On top of that, the app doesn’t show how crowded the gym is, so you often arrive to a packed floor with long waits for equipment. The location is also inconvenient, sitting over a mile away, which only adds to the hassle. Between broken equipment, lack of useful app features, and poor convenience, it’s hard to recommend.

  2. 1/5I want to love this Gym

I want to love this gym in Queens Village, New York but this gym is filthy, unorganized with old equipments from blink thrown in with about 5 new equipments from PureGym. They slapped The name PureGym on the building and painted the walls and called it PureGym as if it’s a new and improved gym. It’s the same situation just worst under this new company. We have broken machines that take forever to get fixed. Example since blink owned that gym the leg extension machine has been broken and still is. Benches are broken and worn out. The Leg press machines are also broken. There is no customer service to report these issues and get the issues fixed or resolved. They stated you can inform the manager about the issues yet nothing gets fixed on either end. The gym is absolutely unsanitary. It is so dusty you can tell no one sweeps or vacuum that gym. And let’s not mention the price increase on the membership for worst customer service and same old broken equipments and a gym that looks like it’s running itself with no direction. You have real customers who value working equipments in a safe and clean environment. Provide the service you so call stand for and advertise.

  3. 1/5Member Card Fails at Check-In - Needs Offline Access

The digital member card requires active cell service or WiFi to load, which completely defeats the purpose of seamless check-in. At the Williamsburg location, the check-in area is a dead zone, so my card never loads when I arrive. I’m forced to screenshot my card while outside just to get into the gym. This creates unnecessary delays and defeats the entire point of having a digital membership card. Check-in should be quick and effortless, not dependent on whether I can get a signal. This becomes a serious concern as pods roll out - if members can’t access their cards offline, they won’t be able to enter gyms at locations with poor connectivity. The fix is simple: Add to Wallet functionality. Let us store our membership cards in Apple Wallet for offline access. This is standard in 2025 and would make check-in actually seamless. Until offline card access is added, the app is creating problems instead of solving them. Will gladly update my rating once this critical feature is implemented.

  4. 1/5From community focused to cash grab. This app is a dumpster fire

I’ve been a Blink member for a while now, and this latest overhaul has made the experience almost unrecognizable. Blink is now under PureFitness ownership, and with that change came sweeping policy and app updates that undermine what made Blink appealing in the first place. The new app, which replaced the old version on August 20, 2025, is slower, stripped of useful workout analytics, and far less intuitive to navigate. What was once a practical tool for members has been reduced to a cluttered and frustrating interface. Guest privileges, previously one of Blink’s most community-oriented features, have been sharply restricted. Green members can now only bring a guest four times per month, a dramatic reduction from the previous “bring a friend anytime” policy. This is not just a minor tweak. This fundamentally changes the value of membership and damages the sense of openness Blink used to promote. Worse still, the new Terms & Conditions explicitly allow PureFitness to alter or remove account features at any time, without notice or liability. This kind of blanket authority leaves members with no real protections and signals a shift from member-first values to corporate convenience. Blink once positioned itself as a welcoming, affordable gym for everyone. Today, it feels less like a community and more like a business squeezing value out of its members. The downgrade in both technology and policy is disappointing, and it makes it difficult to recommend Blink to anyone seeking transparency, consistency, or a supportive fitness environment.

  5. 2/5So much clunkier to use than old app

The most annoying part of this new app is that I can no longer check-in to Blink through my Apple Wallet Pass. This new flow you have us going through with having to open this app, THEN tap check-in, THEN wait for it to load, is so so irritating. It’s so much slower and less intuitive than the prior way I could check-in. The new app is also…so ugly? It’s giving “executives pushed for a fast turnaround and the UI & UX were sacrificed.” Why is your welcoming font a serif?? It doesn’t go with anything else in the design? Why does the header text start with “hi [Name], welcome to blink” It just looks clunky and ancient? I cannot believe an actual design and development team would put out such shoddy work, so I’ll direct this to the execs: good UI & UX matters.
