5/5A must have speech device
The Proloquo2Go app on my son device is the best app you can get, with my son having Down Syndrome & Kleinfelter Syndrome it’s a double whammy when it comes to speech as both disabilities have speech problems and this device with the app helps my son a lot I’m able to add things like taking a picture of his mom,dad ,brothers and sister with there names you can take your own pictures and add them and pick a voice to go with it ,I even added our phone number to our pictures and added our address ,you can also delete items on there you know they will or may not use which I have done I’ve also added certain favorite snacks my son likes, foods, people and so on its very easy to use once you get the hang of we’re what goes and what each item is under you can even pick the amount of pictures you want on ease grid and the size as well ,I am so glad my sons speech therapist she took care of all the paper work for my sons insurance to cover his device ,the device also comes with a strong rugged case with a stand which opens and closes and alphas a strong handle and 2 different length straps so you can wear the device with the app across your body so you don’t loose it,I highly recommend this device with the proloquo2go app for all kids and adults with Speech problems it has helped my son a lot he doesn’t get frustrated no more when you cannot understand what he says or to others.

5/5Excellent AAC app!
My son has Autism and is nonverbal and this app is how he communicates with us and his therapists! We used a Velcro pecs book but it’s hard to continuously make card with Velcro, so his bcba suggested looking into a device. We went with an iPad and bought this app for it, so the iPad is only used for speaking. I love the app because you can customized buttons with irl photos or photos from google instead of drawings, the pictures that the app has though are great and we use about 70% of them! He is 1 year into using the app full time and has made so much growth! The app seems confusing at first glance, but once you get use to it it’s easier to navigate. There was a period where my child would be confused where things are on there, but after letting him just explore the buttons and push whatever he wants he has found buttons I didn’t even know existed ha! The app is geared toward growing with whoever is using it. I’m so thanking for proloquotogo! The price is steep, and it was a hard pill to swallow having to drop that much on an app, but I promise it’s worth it seeing your child be able to communicate!!

4/5great for experienced AAC users!
as somebody who uses AAC mostly full time I have been really enjoying proloquo2go. there are a lot of ways to personalize your AAC. this includes voices, display, layout, colors, what the app speaks to give some examples. it is very customizeable which i like a lot. there is also a history function and typing function which i really like a lot! that sort of leads to some of the issues i have. there is a big learning curve in navigation and learning how to customize things was very difficult and frustrating for me, even having prior experience with picture based apps. so i wouldn't reccomend to first time AAC users especially if you aren't full-time. the new voices update sounds weird too. there's a grating breathy quality to them that's been really bothering me and i think it ironically has made some of the voices less clear sounding. there's now weird blip sounds on some words/noises that are startling. for the most part though, really solid selection of voices. that's another thing i've really liked a lot. overall a very good AAC. i would reccommend something less complex to first time AAC users, but if you have more experience and want to upgrade to something more robust proloquo2go is a very good choice.

5/5Proloquo2Go vs touchchat
Proloquo2go is so much more intuitive to program and use than Touchchat that I felt that I had time to write this review in the middle of a big rush to get some content programmed for the imminent return to in person services. I am a speech therapist working in 6-1-1 classrooms and one of the biggest barriers to generalization is ease of use of the AAC device with support staff and teachers. With proloquo2go, I have seen content programmed in by support staff, something that would be unthinkable with Touchchat, since its rigid design makes programming a laborious process that takes months to get the hang of. I currently work with students remotely who only have access to Touchchat, and their support staff have figured out, over the course of our sessions, how to successfully navigate the brittle menu system of Touchchat in order to assist the client in answering questions and expressing themselves, however the idea of teaching someone to program that software in a hectic, loud environment, when the clock is ticking away, seems nearly impossible, leaving us stuck with the same static lesson plans we have been running since before going remote. Language is a fluid, changing thing, as are the interests and needs of teenagers on the spectrum. Proloquo2go presents an interface that can be adapted easily in real time, in order to meet the needs of the moment. It presents and interface that integrates these moments and needs into an intuitive hierarchy of folders that can be easily moved, nested, and organized as needed. Proloquo2go responds to the touch scrolling commands that my clients perform intuitively, as they have worked with tablets and software that has used that type of scrolling for navigation through the digital interface from very early points in their development. For students who do not respond as well to abstract symbols Proloquo2go makes it extremely easy to take real life pictures to add to a button. This is possible with Touchchat but only through another laborious, time consuming process. Thank you to the designers of this software.

5/5Great app!
Happy that such an app exists. Our toddler who we suspected to be on the spectrum before his second birthday has been using this app for about the past 6 months. He turned three not long ago and has been learning how to communicate using the app with the help of his therapists. I really like that it can be customized for early learners such as my toddler. The only reason I give it four stars is because he uses this app on the iPad, but for some reason he has trouble swiping up/down for some reason even after we try to show him over and over again. We were told it’s probably a fine motor issue. For now, we all swipe the page for him to access the rest of his icons. I would love it if the ability to swipe left to right were included since he is able to do that with no problem.
