This is a big update for your Proloquo! We have added thousands of new words for all ages, while remaining easy to use and efficient. We’ve also improved the app’s organization, adding new subfolders and creating more space to add your own words. Other new features to enrich your communication: • Discover words that are essential to school curricula. • Add the most important information about yourself to the new About Me subfolder under People. • Move your customized buttons to organize them better. • View the Math folder, which is now on the home screen, for easy access to numbers, shapes, quantities, and many new math terms. • Try the buttons for engaging actions and sounds that have been added as Related Words. • Communicate on topics ranging from history to outer space, and from travel to cooking using the new subfolders. • Switch your vocabulary to a new region, if needed. We’ve also added to our US English voices so that you can find the voice that best represents you — 6 new teenager voices and 4 new child voices!

When you begin typing a message in Proloquo, the first letter of the sentence will be automatically capitalized. You will notice the same for the first letter after punctuation indicating a sentence's end. This improvement supports writing and literacy. Plus, we’ve taken care of some bugs and made other performance enhancements.

This update brings you exciting changes to the vocabulary, shaped by your feedback and requests: • We have replaced the Movement folder with a new subfolder called Move, which can now be found with the other verbs in the dark pink tab. • The light pink tab now has two new subfolders: Think and Communicate. These contain frequently used verbs that were previously scattered in different folders. • We have also heard your feedback about needing a subfolder to talk about Shapes beyond geometry class, so we have added a new Shapes subfolder to the blue tab. • We renamed a subfolder previously called Sounds—it is now called Body Sounds, and you will find it under Bodies. We’ve also taken the opportunity to fix bugs and improve the app’s performance. We hope these changes make it easier for you to say what you want.

We are excited to present a new feature to you that makes communication easier and more intuitive—Thinking Space™ Understanding a beginning communicator can feel like an endless guessing game, leading to frustration on both sides. Thinking Space allows you to visualize and explore thoughts and meaning even with the earliest communicators, by arranging Proloquo’s visuals in any order. Other improvements: • Higher quality voices—The voices sound smoother and clearer, especially for longer messages. • Bug fixes and performance improvements.

We are excited to announce some updates based on your feedback and requests: • Quicker navigation: The "Exit Folder" button simplifies navigating between folders within the same category. For instance, if you're in the Vegetables folder and want to find the word "banana," you can use the Exit Folder button to return to the Food folder and access the Fruit folder for "banana." • Share Thinking Space™ content: Share your schedules, lists, recipes, and more from Thinking Space. This has been one of your top requests since we introduced Thinking Space! Your creations will be exported as an image file, making it super simple to share with friends and family. We've also fixed some bugs to make sure your Proloquo runs smoothly.

Focus mode uses light and motion to attract attention to specific buttons in the grid. This is a simple way to invite a new user to tap buttons without intrusive prompts. While using Focus mode, the non-selected words appear dimmed. But don't worry - they are still tappable. With Proloquo, you always have access to all the words you need. Other improvements: • Use Proloquo during calls with the new feature, "Add audio in calls," available with iOS and iPadOS 18.2 and later. You can communicate using your Proloquo voice in calls. • Paste an image directly onto a button. This makes customizing your vocabulary simpler. • You can choose your preferred button behavior for composing messages—from speaking words as you type to clicking sounds or no sound at all.
