   Why does there need to be ordering drama at the pottery barn website? First of all, they should be doing everything humanly possible to facilitate people spending their money at this practically irrelevant store…the pottery barn…good grief. My wife wanted a bath robe…saw some nice ones here…after searching the selection, choosing the style,size,color…for some reason couldn’t get it in the cart…couldn’t select home delivery, nor could I select store pickup…essentially couldn’t buy the darn thing. Tried my phone, wife’s phone…same frustrating issue. After circling around the website for entirely too long I finally resolved to load and use the app…(only out of love for my wife and a desire to get her the gift she has wanted for awhile). Go through the painstaking process of downloading, creating an account, logging in…(ugh)…I’m finally able to shop again and just when I think I’m making progress by selecting the size,style,color, robe…and even better, I can add a monogram because she loves that kinda stuff (selecting color/fonts of monogram)…and I even get so far as to load it in the cart this time! (Making serious progress)…head to check out and even type in my address (heading into the home stretch and I can start to see the light at the end of this painstakingly long tunnel)… ALL OF THIS BEFORE!!!…it then tells me the item is “no longer available”. W….T…H? No wonder nobody shops here. it’s practically the year 2024 pottery barn people…there’s a better way Keep up the good work everybody!

   I’ve been a business trade member for 10+ years and have always loved pottery barn, I was very excited about their new “commercial sales department” and couldn’t wait specify PB for a retirement home community project I was working on. But it was a nightmare. Most of my vendors have a 10-12 week leed time, so when we placed the order 12 weeks out from substantial completetion, the only orders that haven’t arrived to our D&L warehouse were from pottery barn. Our delivery installer had to receive shipments from PB almost 3 months past due and schedule a second installation date with our client, and only half the order was ordered while the other half was back ordered and the customer service was rude, insensitive to the pressure of delivery schedules, budgets, and incapable of returning calls or picking up calls in a timely fashion. Pottery Barn won’t be specified again for a commercial project. Lesson learned. To top the cake, You will also accrue interest on undelivered items until they are shipped from their overseas vendors, who are completely unresponsive and careless. Beware…. And I told you so.

3. 1/5Cannot get free design services

   I get PB texts and constantly get messages about the free design services. I scheduled an appointment online using an available time slot. Received a text a few hours later saying 4:30 pm Friday was not available. They suggested Saturday morning but I had plans for Saturday. So I went back online and I rescheduled for 3 pm on Friday which was another open time slot online. Received text message a few hours later saying 3 pm was not available, and the person suggested Friday morning but I work Friday mornings so declined. I went back online and scheduled design appointment for 1 pm Sunday. Received a text on Friday while at work where the person said they would come at 3 pm on Friday and I should confirm via text. I wound up working until 5 pm Friday instead of leaving at 1 pm (as originally planned) so I did not even see the text about 3 pm on Friday until after 3 pm. What happened to my requested Sunday at 1 pm appointment? No one has yet said they are coming. This “free design service” is wasting a lot of my time. Why are the appointment slots offered online not honored? The person texting me said they aren’t accurate because people come to the store and make design appointments. It appears PB is not tech savvy enough to update their website with the correct appointment information. Also, this texting back and forth is ridiculous. Why can’t someone just call me if the appointment time cannot be honored? I was redoing 2 rooms and PB has lost my business.

   I spent nearly 200$ on Christmas decor. My ornaments shipped separately from my stocking. I received my ornaments only to realize my stocking shipped separately. My email said the stocking shipped, but I never received tracking number. I tried to access it from the app, but it said it couldn’t load tracking. Reached out to support they said the stocking had delivered on 11/21. The tracking they sent said “delivered met customer” I never got it. Pottery barn said I needed to reach out to the shipping company to file a claim, bc they can’t process a refund unless a case is closed with the shipping company. Went to submit a claim for lost package and they said they can’t file one due to the restrictions of the sender, and said to reach out to pottery barn. Now I’m out 62$ and no one will help. I’m beyond upset cause the stocking now is out of stock. Thankfully I snagged one in store but I’m very disappointed and irritated that with all the money you pay people don’t handle the packages as well as they should,

5. 2/5Terrible user interface on mobile!

   When using the mobile app it is very difficult to see the details of each item. Either the scrolling doesn’t work or the item disappears or changes to something completely unrelated. I’d also love to see a lawyer get involved with a class action. Pottery Barn makes it extremely difficult to add reward numbers and certificates. You have to be adept with first ensuring your credit card is linked then be comfortable with an intricate copy and paste process before the reward can be applied. Developers need to take note from companies that are true customer first organizations like Nordstrom that allow easy click on and off “would you like to use your reward today?” It would be interesting to review how many PB rewards go unused due to their terrible process.
