  1. 4/5Okay

I like the layout but hate that when I click on a push notification, it does not bring me straight to the article.

    TikaG · 31 Jul 2026

  2. 5/5Very readable news app

Yes, this from New York. But the entirety of the news is interesting and applicable to all readers. I can skip some of the nitty- gritty NY and NJ stories, if I want. The news seems to be refreshingly apolitical and not biased. Great! Good reporting and not the usual AP news service regurgitation. I’m reading this app daily. Try it!

  3. 5/5Better than the rest

Better grammar, no technical issues-Sure, there are ads, it’s a free app, what do you expect? I don’t find the ads/commercials excessive or overly obtrusive. I’ve tried a number of other news apps. This is the best one I’ve seen.

    RiaGlea · 31 Jul 2026

  4. 5/5Better Presentation

Similar, but leaves off the “sponsored” posts or maybe locates them somewhere else. Whatever, it’s much better without them every third post.

    JustcallmeNick · 31 Jul 2026

  5. 1/5Update??

This app left much to be desired which is a shame bc I love pix on tv. Most of the screen was a big graphic which had little to do with the article. Now with this so-called update, the font on the article is so large that it doesn’t scroll & is unreadable. I deleted & reinstalled the app to no avail. Do something, or you lost me!!

If you're holding your device in landscape when entering an article screen, the video will no longer automatically jump into full-screen mode. If you're holding your phone or tablet in portrait orientation when you're on an article, then you can still quickly launch video full-screen mode by rotating it to landscape.
