Piano Motifs

• Added new option to the Drone Accompaniment Style. You can now specify for the Drone Accompaniment to be a Dyad (2 notes of a chord). The Dyad can be the 1-5 (root and 5th), 1-3 (root and 3rd) or 3-5 (3rd and 5th). The Dyad drone adds a subtle harmonic color and texture without the fullness of a chord. This is great for Ambient tracks. • Fixed crash that can happen when calculating the number of chord notes for Rolled Chords (AUv3 Plug-In Only). • Fixed crash that can occur when changing from Bluetooth to Speakers and vice versa. • Fixed issue where setting a lock for the Drone Accomp Style isn't working correctly.

• New Slash Bass setting for Programmed Chord Progressions. You can either Add a Bass note to a Chord or Swap the Root Bass note of a chord for another note. Perfect for line cliché bass lines and other bass movement ideas.

• Added a Mode for the Experimental Accomp Style. You can now choose a less than, an equal, or a greater than option for the value specified in the Every picker (how often a note is played). This will allow for constantly evolving note sequences. • Improved Voice Over Accessibility. More UI elements have this feature now.

• New Canon Accomp Style. When you choose this style, the accompaniment will follow the same notes of the melody delayed by one bar and one octave down. The resulting motif is a two voice canon. Please note that because the canon algorithm determines the notes in order to maintain the canon structure, some settings such as Programmed Chord Progressions and Melody Constraints may conflict with the canon rules and will be overridden.

• Added new Velocity option in the Arrangement Screen. Select velocity offsets for the start and end of a section to gradually increase or decrease the note velocities for each section of an arrangement. Use this feature to implement crescendos and decrescendos in your arrangements. • Doubled the button area for the Generate/Play, Next and Revert buttons. • Fixed issue where the Melody Sequence Freeze feature was not producing accurate results. • Fixed crash that can occur when retrieving a Host AUv3 session and there is an arrangement with a single motif that has a loop count greater than 1. • Fixed crash that can occur when the following settings are used: Accomp Voice Leading, Swing or Triplets or Sixteenth Notes and Accomp Last Bar. • Fixed crash that can occur when you trim a section in the Arrangement Screen and the section has a Programmed Chord Progression with Swing or Triplets or Sixteenth Notes. • Minor bug fixes and improvements

• Fixed crash that can happen when retrieving a Host session saved with v4.110.

• Maintenance Release • Fixed iPhone UI issues where popover windows in the More Settings Screen were not being displayed correctly, making some features inaccessible.

• New curves for velocity offsets per section in Arrangement Screen. Added Slow and Fast to the already existing Linear curve. These new curves are quadratic, causing the velocity offset to change gradually over time rather than at a constant rate. • Fixed crash that can happen when loading presets in the AUv3 plug-in. • Fixed issue where Melody Lock is cleared when the Chord Sustain Accomp Style is changed. It shouldn't.

• Added the ability to specify loop count in the Melody Sequence Setting. • Added more variety to Chord & Bass Accomp Style, Syncopated option. • Minor fixes and improvements.

• Added options to the Walking Bass Accomp Style: Scale and Chromatic. • New default UI color scheme. • Fixed issue where for certain accompaniments the 3rd track had dissonant notes. • Improved the Melody Harmony generation when using the Tonic or Root options. • Minor fixes and improvements.

• Added a Random Option for Melody Harmony. When this option is selected, the harmony will be randomly generated for every note from any of the available harmony options. • Added Custom Voicing for Chord Accompaniments. With this setting you can customize the voicing you want for the chords in a motif by defining a Root Octave and Octave Shifts from this Root Octave for the different notes of a chord. • Minor fixes and improvements.

• Added a new Extend option for sections in the Arrangement Screen. When the Extend option is On, the section will be extended by one bar which will sustain the last note(s) of the previous bar for both the melody and accompaniment.

• Added new option for the 3rd Track: No Silent Bars. When this option is On and the Accompaniment has a silent bar, the 3rd track won't have one. The chord played on the 3rd Track for the silent bar will be the same as the one played on the previous bar. • Added the ability to change the BPM through text input. Press the BPM value and you can enter the BPM value you want. Please note that this will not be available when the app is an AUv3 in Sync Mode, since in this mode the BPM is controlled by the Host. • Added the ability to enter the Loop Count by pressing on the Loop value and selecting one of the options. • Fixed issue where when the Accomp Last Bar was used, the Voicing settings weren't being taken into account. • Fixed issue in the Arpeggio Sequence Accomp Style with Voice Leading option selected and a Time Signature of 3/4 or 6/8. The Arpeggio Sequence wasn't being generated as programmed.

• Added new randomize button for the Settings. Press the dice button on the Settings section to randomize Settings. • Fixed issue where if you trim both the front and back of a section in the Arrangement Screen this can cause a either crash or an incorrect number of bars on the resulting motif. • Fixed issue where the No Silent Bar Setting and the Melody Harmony % Setting were not being Reset when the Reset button is pressed. • Fixed issue where if you set both the Accomp Last Bar Setting and you have Melody Swing Enabled there is a crash. • Minor fixes and improvements.

• Fixed crash that can occur on devices running iOS 18 or later. In the Program Chord Progression Screen if you tap on a chord defined for a bar in the Chord Progression Row the app can crash. • Fixed issue when the Settings Randomizer picked the Chord Suspend Accomp Style or the Chord Accomp Sytle with the Vary option. No chord variations were being generated. • Fixed issue when the Settings Randomizer picked a Melody Sequence and the melody play beats were outside of the defined beats per bar. No melody was generated for the motif. • Improved the Settings Randomizer algorithm.

• Added AU parameters Generate and Next. These parameters are one-shot trigger parameters that can be controlled by external events on a Host. (AUv3 Only) • Fixed issue where when randomizing Settings and Custom Voicing was selected, no octave shifts were being set. • Fixed background color of SYNC button when White Labels and White Borders are On. (AUv3 Only) • Fixed crash that can happen when you use Randomize Settings, the Host goes to the background and then later is brought back to the foreground. (AUv3 Only) • Improved algorithm used to Randomize Settings.

• Added a Random option for the "Every" parameter of the Experimental Accomp Style. This option will cause a note to be played at random intervals. • Added a selectable Tonic or Chord option for the User Defined Melody Constraint. This option lets you choose between Tonic scale or Chord tones for your melody notes. • Fixed crash that can occur when Grace Notes are used to generate a motif and the Extend feature is used in Arrangements. This can also result in corrupted .motif files. (AUv3 Only) • Fixed crash that can occur when using Grace Notes or Rolled Chords in combination with a Delay Start. (AUv3 in Sync mode Only). • Improved the Randomize Settings function.

• Added randomize button (dice) to User Defined Melody Constraint. • Fixed issue where UI was not fully visible in the smallest AUv3 window of Groove Rider 2. • Improved the Tonic Arpeggio Accomp Style. • Minor fixes and improvements.

• Added individual locks for each one of the Settings. This function is very useful when using the Randomization Function (Dice Button) and you don't want the random algorithm to change some specific Settings. • Minor fixes and improvements.

• Added new "Every N Accomp" Accompaniment Style. When you choose this accompaniment a popup screen will be displayed where you can select the Accompaniment type you want to use every N bars (Arpeggio, Chord or Bass), the value of N (2, 4 or 8), and the Accompaniment type for the rest of the bars (Arpeggio, Chord or Bass). • Removed unnecessary Warning popup when there isn't a generated motif and you change the key, scale or time signature (AUv3 Plug-In Only). • Fixed issue where the Melody 16th Notes Setting could change even if it was locked. • Fixed issue where the Accomp Open Voicing Setting could change even if it was locked. • Minor bug fixes and improvements.
