5/5Indispensable Utility for Pi-hole. Get it now!
I’ve been tinkering around with a Pi-hole setup, and I kept running into issues with using the web interface on mobile (sporadic Bad Request errors I couldn’t crush) so I decided to check the App Store and came across this infinitely useful Pi-hole Remote App. I didn’t even hesitate purchasing it, it’s well worth the asking price. The UI itself is hands down one of the cleanest I have ever experienced for a technical utility app. It’s easy to navigate and all the critical metrics and statistics information is cleanly and clearly presented and organized. It’s a lot more reliable than using the web interface on mobile and tons of customization and configuration options to tweak to your liking. It’s a highly intuitive layout. I have no problems whatsoever supporting indie devs that make quality apps such as this. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to future updates!

5/5V7 Is Awesomesauce!
Update 2: Version 7 is prettier, faster, and more integrated than ever! This really is the best possible Pi-hole experience as a Mac/iOS user. If you run Pi-hole, buying this app should just be considered part of the set up or expected user process and experience. Just get this app, really, you’ll love it! Update: The app has now released a few fixes and things are working again more or less as expected. There are still bouts of slowness but it is, for the most part, nice and snappy again. Also, the "restore purchase" form when it was a one-time-purchase works again so that’s great! All in all, it seems to be well on its way back to being a daily-use app! --------- This used to be a fantastic app. I’m not sure how much of it is the dev vs. Pi-Hole itself, but following the V6 upgrade this is barely usable. Getting it connected was difficult, but eventually I got there. It requires that you disable 2FA, which isn’t great, but ok. Even so, with just an HTTP connection and App-specific PW it connects and eventually pulls stats, but even the basics like queries, blocked, and block list will spin for over 10 minutes before getting the numbers. I’m not sure how the API can possibly be this slow, but it is. Definitely not paying for it until the app recovers.

This app is an absolute game-changer for anyone running Pi-hole. It makes managing and monitoring my network’s ad-blocking effortless, even when I’m away from home. The interface is clean and intuitive, showing me all the vital stats at a glance. I love being able to toggle Pi-hole on and off with a single tap—perfect for those moments when you need to temporarily disable blocking. The real-time query logs and detailed insights are super useful for tracking down pesky ads or troubleshooting network issues. If you’re serious about maintaining control over your network, Pi-hole Remote is a must-have companion app. Worth every penny! Highly recommend!

4/5Amazing app, could be excellent
This app is a great way to view and manage your pi-hole. The design choices make everything you need up at the front of the app and it blends in well with iOS. You can view the tail of a particular IP address really easily and the details on each dns request are really helpful, allowing you to easily create blacklists. The widgets are a nice touch. So far, everything I need. There is room for improvement though; this app could be a game-changer. Group management seems to be ignored completely, including adlists. A built in whois lookup or information database about particular domains would be helpful, something similar to Little Snitch. If those changes were made, and a few small app bugs, it would be an excellent app. This is still an amazing app though, and I'm happy I found it; it will be used a lot! Thanks!

1/5Pretty app but why so expensive?
The app looks good and seems to have all the functionality one might need but I don’t understand why I would need to pay so much for an app that primarily works off my own local network and just gives a fancy UI to an API other developers created. What is especially frustrating is that so much basic functionality is locked behind the paywall. Functionality that doesn’t cost the developer anything to permit to basic users. On top of that, they admit to being a single dev. What if the PiHole API changes, the app breaks, and the dev never gets around to fixing it? Now I’ve just paid an exorbitant fee for some useless bits on my phone. I get wanting to be paid for your work and I appreciate being given the choice between recurring and one time payments but cmon. For a smaller one time fee, maybe. Ad supported, sure I guess. Subscriptions though? Not a chance.

The UI itself is hands down one of the cleanest I have ever experienced for a technical utility app. It’s easy to navigate and all the critical metrics and statistics information is cleanly and clearly presented and organized. It’s a lot more reliable than using the web interface on mobile and tons of customization and configuration options to tweak to your liking. It’s a highly intuitive layout. I have no problems whatsoever supporting indie devs that make quality apps such as this. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to future updates!",

          "body": "Update 2: Version 7 is prettier, faster, and more integrated than ever! This really is the best possible Pi-hole experience as a Mac/iOS user. If you run Pi-hole, buying this app should just be considered part of the set up or expected user process and experience. Just get this app, really, you’ll love it! Update: The app has now released a few fixes and things are working again more or less as expected. There are still bouts of slowness but it is, for the most part, nice and snappy again. Also, the \"restore purchase\" form when it was a one-time-purchase works again so that’s great! All in all, it seems to be well on its way back to being a daily-use app! --------- This used to be a fantastic app. I’m not sure how much of it is the dev vs. Pi-Hole itself, but following the V6 upgrade this is barely usable. Getting it connected was difficult, but eventually I got there. It requires that you disable 2FA, which isn’t great, but ok. Even so, with just an HTTP connection and App-specific PW it connects and eventually pulls stats, but even the basics like queries, blocked, and block list will spin for over 10 minutes before getting the numbers. I’m not sure how the API can possibly be this slow, but it is. Definitely not paying for it until the app recovers.",

          "body": "This app is a great way to view and manage your pi-hole. The design choices make everything you need up at the front of the app and it blends in well with iOS. You can view the tail of a particular IP address really easily and the details on each dns request are really helpful, allowing you to easily create blacklists. The widgets are a nice touch. So far, everything I need. There is room for improvement though; this app could be a game-changer. Group management seems to be ignored completely, including adlists. A built in whois lookup or information database about particular domains would be helpful, something similar to Little Snitch. If those changes were made, and a few small app bugs, it would be an excellent app. This is still an amazing app though, and I'm happy I found it; it will be used a lot! Thanks!",

          "body": "The app looks good and seems to have all the functionality one might need but I don’t understand why I would need to pay so much for an app that primarily works off my own local network and just gives a fancy UI to an API other developers created. What is especially frustrating is that so much basic functionality is locked behind the paywall. Functionality that doesn’t cost the developer anything to permit to basic users. On top of that, they admit to being a single dev. What if the PiHole API changes, the app breaks, and the dev never gets around to fixing it? Now I’ve just paid an exorbitant fee for some useless bits on my phone. I get wanting to be paid for your work and I appreciate being given the choice between recurring and one time payments but cmon. For a smaller one time fee, maybe. Ad supported, sure I guess. Subscriptions though? Not a chance.",
