1. 1/5Misleading to gain access to people’s data

   I hardly ever leave bad reviews, I make it a point to give people a chance to correct things before giving someone a bad review because I’m not okay with messing up people’s ratings when you could give them the chance to correct things first. However, when an app deliberately misguides people with the intention of gaining access to their data, I have absolutely no problem with immediately leaving a bad review. I’m giving one star because of how misleading this app is for the purpose of gaining access to people’s data. It’s free to download the app and then after you get started, the first thing the app does is ask for permission to access your photo library. After you give access, it asks for permission to track your web activity and then you choose what layout you want for your collage. After you pick what pictures you want you use in the collage, it then tells you that you have to subscribe to a subscription or you have the option to do a free trial, but not without having to put your credit/ debit card info in first. If you're going to require for people to pay a monthly subscription or start a free trial with their card info, then that should be the first thing you have people do instead of getting them to allow you access to their photo library and web activity first. Because of this, I feel that this app is one big scam. That should be illegal.

2. 1/5THIS APP IS A SCAM

   DO NOT DOWNLOAD! I downloaded the app under the terms of a “free trial” and it said if cancelled before the trial renewal date I would t be charged. I downloaded the app and started the free trial and saw it was not capable of doing what I was looking for so I cancelled the FREE trial the SAME DAY! that was two weeks ago and today I was charged for a week subscription! I am beyond furious. I contacted Apple and they said because I authorized the download of the app I can’t dispute it with them. Yet I explained to them and sent screen shots of my “free trial” period and how the terms I agreed to when I downloaded the app were not being followed and I was wrongly charged and they told me I would have to contact the app developers myself! So if you download this app and do the free trial, even if it says they won’t charge you if you unsubscribe by a certain date, they WILL STILL CHARGE YOU. DO NOT DOWNLOAD! RUN!!! If any developer from this app sees this I would love to show you my screenshots of my free trial I ended far before the renewal date and the charge to my bank account! !BUYER BEWARE!

These limitations make it feel less like a free app and more like a paywall in disguise. To improve, the app could benefit from offering a free saving option for simpler projects, even if it includes a watermark. Such an approach would make it more accessible to casual users while maintaining its appeal for those needing advanced features. In a competitive space with free alternatives for basic collages, these changes could go a long way toward retaining a broader audience.

4. 1/5Update is a scam!

   I bought and paid for this app several months ago. It was my favorite go-to app for collage needs and I use it for my business. It had a very easy to use interface that I found preferable over other apps that do the same things. The latest update made major changes in performance and it is now difficult to use and simple things now require more steps. Very frustrating! The thing I’m most upset over is that even though I already purchased the app almost a year ago, all the features were locked and they now want to charge $4.99 a week to use it! NOT OK! I hit the button to “restore” my purchase so I have access to all the collages I did before, but now I’m afraid they are going to start charging by the week. I will delete the app and dispute the charges if this happens. I do not see a subscription listed in my iTunes acct so it’s kind of confusing. I want the app that I already paid for and I want it to function the way it did prior to the update... except minus the random crashes. P.S. The best thing about it was the ability to take a picture directly in the collage, that seems no longer possible in the updated version.

5. 5/5DO NOT UPDATE

   UPDATE: After searching for literally 4 months for another app as good as Pic Jointer USED TO BE, I had found nothing even close. So tonight I decided to re-download the app and try to learn how to use the new version. Upon re-installing, I found that it has been completely fixed since I left! Now, it could not be easier to use! I'm so thrilled that I can use this app again! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Wow! I cannot believe they really went and completely ruined my favorite app with this update! They've made the app completely unrecognizable from the greatness it was before. Everything is hard to do now. And most things that I want to do, can't even be done at all any more! What on earth were they thinking? I already uninstalled the app and will be looking for a different collage-making app today.
