  1. 1/5Terrible airline, app, and service

Terrible airline, app, and service! First off, had trouble changing profile information on my mabuhay miles account because my mom made it for me when I was a minor and couldn’t remember the email she used, let alone our disconnected landline phone number that no one uses anymore. They told me even if I wanted to create a new account with zero points I couldn’t because there would essentially be two of me in the system. After numerous emails asking and providing the same questions and same on the phone I get one guy that finally helps me. Shoutout to him this is the only time having worth one star. Secondly, the app is so third world! Glitches everywhere and I’m trying to book me and my toddlers flight with my points and you can’t book more than one online so you have to call. I was on hold for 25 minutes before I chose to get a call back instead. This whole time it said I was next in line so I thought I wouldn’t have to wait long. It’s been 3 hours and I’m writing this review they still haven’t called back! Not sure if it’s cause the weekend but if it is they should note that over the phone!! Completely unhelpful an waste of time. Get with the program! I’ll even note how bad it is their planes always leave late!

  2. 1/5Worst flight booking/managing flight app

If zero stars is available I would rate this zero. This app is unreliable, absolutely trash! You can’t see the seats once you’ve paid. And when you do the UI sucked. If you paid already for that seat it gives you a new charge to move so then you have to call! When you call to ask why its showinh pending charges, they’d say to ignore it since I already have purchased Pal travel boost and everything is ok on their end, pending charges don’t go away. Some of the parts of this app still has the place holder/template. It’s very outdated and absolutely unsecured too. Their mabuhay miles password login requires only 8 characters only, talk about cyber security which definitely is not on their radar. This app needs a major update to give your cx better experience. Also, to whom it may concern, on the check in counter, your employees approached me to pay them under the table when I requested to move to a different seat (cash), note I already paid travel boost so I should be able to move. I’m not going to name names but having employees scamming their PAL cx is ridiculous and just unethical

  3. 1/5They Screw Over Their Fellow Filipino, They’ll Screw You Over Anyone

Don’t fly with them, find every other major platform to fly with, it’s worth the extra money. They go above and beyond about name matches on tickets but make it abhorrently awful to attempt to make a name change. They require more for their flights than actual immigration does, which is asinine. (Called the DC Embassy and emailed Immigration in Manila to confirm.) They do not match their policies set with platforms like PriceLine, they stated I needed to start my claim with them my booking service but the booking service has guidance that they can’t change names because of the guidance that PALs team doesn’t even know. They should be insolvent with how garbage they are, months to issue refunds to family, excessive international requirements. I would rather take my chances doing AMC flights and fly into Clark than this. If you read this and make things right, I’ll reconsider calling you scabs and betraying your fellow Filipinos for an over inflated currency because you refuse to do the right thing like your government.

  4. 1/5Let us register on the website!

I have a flight in December and wanted to register as a “Mabuhay Miles” member just in case it could help make things easier (as well as for future travels). However, funnily enough, something as simple as signing up has made the process of preparing for a flight a lot more difficult than it is. I went to the website to enrol myself but was met with a page that told me to download the PhilippineAirlines app; seeing no other links or forms, I go to install said application. Incorrect DOB when I put in the right one, city of residence missing from the list, every password I attempt to make is invalid, and it responds so slow that I have to close-open the app as it’s the only way it loads quicker. It’s a hassle. Absolutely have no problems downloading an app, but if it’s what’s required to sign up and doesn’t even let you make your password, then until this problem is fixed, I think it should be an option for people to use the website instead of only having the app.

  5. 1/5THE ABSOLUTE WORST

Using the Philippine Airlines mobile app was honestly a frustrating experience from start to finish. Instead of making my travel smoother and less stressful, it did the exact opposite. I experienced slow loading times, unreliable performance, and features that didn’t always work as expected. At times, I questioned whether the app would actually complete the task I needed or simply return an error. What frustrated me the most was that after checking in, I was not provided with a digital boarding pass. As a traveler, I expected to have everything I needed in one place on my phone. Not having a digital boarding pass made me feel unprepared and anxious, especially when I was already trying to manage my travel schedule. It defeated one of the main reasons for using a mobile airline app in the first place—to make the travel experience more convenient and seamless. I also found the app difficult to navigate, with some functions feeling incomplete or redirecting me to the website instead of allowing me to finish what I started within the app. Rather than giving me confidence before my flight, the app created unnecessary uncertainty and stress. I constantly worried whether my booking, check-in, or travel information had actually gone through correctly. Overall, my experience left me feeling disappointed. As someone who values efficiency and good customer service, I expected an airline’s official app to simplify the travel process. Instead, it added inconvenience, frustration, and avoidable anxiety during a time when I simply wanted to focus on my journey.
