   I installed the intelliconnect last week and was able to get it set up fairly quickly. I have a solid WiFi signal, so had no issues with getting it connected to WiFi and the app. I made a mistake in the app in setting up my single speed pump up correctly that caused the it to not recognize it as the main filter pump so the heater would never turn on. I worked with the support group over a couple of calls to figure out what was wrong and they were eventually able to find my mistake. Appreciate their dedication to getting it up and running. As far as the app it seems stable and usability is good. Since the app collects the BTU info in the furnace it would be great to get some furnace run time and estimated usage details. Also I noticed whenever I click on the air temp it asks me to do an address update. Not sure why it keeps forgetting my address. This is the reason for 4 stars vs 5. Overall a good product. Also please add Apple Watch support for just Intelliconnect - would be useful.

   Does a good job connecting to Pentair equipment. Perhaps we’ve been spoiled by tech as what would make this a true smart device would be Alexis or Google Home integration. Years back they had it but removed it. I dream of the day when I can say, “Google turn on the spa.” Without fumbling through an app. We also have Google outside in our outdoor kitchen so having voice control would be so much better than trying to control a smartphone with wet hands. No options to dim lights is a true bummer. It’s either full blast or off. In the color light programs you can see the led lights dimming but without manual control this app is not for people with a keen eye to lighting design. No third party options either so you’re stuck with this tech. If pumps disconnect from wireless connection to control panel and there is no warning. So you can go on vacation and your pool can suddenly disconnect and you won’t know until you return. This happens only on rare occasions but some sort of notification would be a nice/typical feature. Lots of cool stuff here despite the aforementioned issues. Though it cannot connect to Google for scheduling, you have schedule controls within the app. Not perfect as you can’t turn on or off schedules with an easy button, you have to manipulate the schedules manually. So if you create multiple schedules for different seasons and want to switch things on and off, you have to recreate the schedules every season. It’s kind of a mess. I’m thankful, for now, it’s at least stable.

3. 3/5About the light options

   Works so far for basic stuff like lights on/ off and a few colors. You can program light schedule but only for either weekend (Sat/ Sun) or weekdays (all other days) but that’s it. You can’t for example program it for Friday and Saturday night only or multiple times in a given day. The solid color options are very limited and there is no way to really adjust them beyond what’s there. Well actually I think I figured out a trick where you can start one of the “party modes” where colors are included (like orange) and then lock in one one to “hold” it there. But this color can then not be saved as an option- you have to trick it again later. This is not a good way to have to go about this in 2025. I would like to see a color selector option where you can customize and then save whatever color you want to a “favorites” to then use. Also the “party mode” has these pre set color combo’s it will modulate between: again I’d have expected an option here to make a custom one including what all colors it will include and how long each color is displayed. This may seem like asking for a lot but these seem like software limitations only which could be expanded on so we can do whatever light color we want and program them for whenever we feel like. I should be able to program it to display a different color or combo “party” mode every day of the week and maybe even different times/ colors within the same day with a better app design.

4. 2/5Very basic functionality

   I’m disappointed by the app’s functionality after having a top line system put in place. I can’t believe the lack of basic user friendly features — e.g. when you turn the heater on, it doesn’t notify you when the temperature is reached (or even give you an estimated time to reach the temp based on your pool’s volume, current water temp, and weather conditions/temp). Have a variable pump? Well you can only schedule it on/off… not configure the speed (it’s whatever it last ran). And the lights? They can glow all kind of colors on a light show… but you can only select one of five or so (you can ‘hold’ a color you like on the light show, but not save it). Pool smart tech seems about 10-15 years behind… From what I hear from our pool contractor, they’re not great at taking in feedback on how to make things better… I can’t believe it has a 4.6 average rating… oh, and connectivity is glitchy as well.

5. 5/5Pentair intelicenter timer issue

   I recently had pool solar installed on my pool and ever since, 2 months now, my pool pump timer starts up at the correct time, but won’t shut off at the programmed time. I’ve had my pool builder / service rep look at it and completely delete all programming and rebuilt everything and still no luck. I then contacted my solar pool equipment installer. He looked at the system and he couldn’t figure it out either. This issue was very inconvenient as I would have to remember each day to shut my pool pump off manually or it would just continue running. I finally reached out for service help through the Pentair app. Within 2 days, I received an email back stating that my intelicenter firmware was out of date and needed to be updated. The email gave me explicit instructions that were easy to follow so I could update the firmware myself. I took the 5 minutes to download the updated firmware to a USB drive and then uploaded that to my Pentair Intelicenter. Everything went really well. 15 minutes later my pool pump was scheduled to shut off. I was excited to see if this would actually work. Well, it worked perfectly! My pool pump shut off at the programmed time and everything has been perfect for the last eeek now. Thank you Pentair for the excellent service and help. Highly recommend!
