Webtoon (vertical scroll) mode now has a progress bar. Open the menu and it appears at the bottom, sharing a card with the auto-scroll control—drag it to jump to any page, with your current and total position in view. The side progress bar from Settings now works in webtoon mode too, along with small refinements. Thanks for asking for this.

Page turns now have a look you choose — none, slide, fade, or page curl, with slide as the default. Two-page view gains a single-page advance, so you can shift the spread by one when a cover throws the pairing off. Auto-scroll finally uses the full refresh rate on ProMotion (120Hz) iPhones and holds a steady speed even when a frame slips; on Mac it follows your display. With Reduce Motion on, the effects ease off by themselves.

Someone wrote in to say imported images looked blurry, especially long vertical webtoons — pages were being drawn far smaller than the screen could show. Pages now use the resolution your display actually has, so long webtoons keep their full width, and zooming reloads the page at a higher resolution instead of stretching a shrunken copy. Covers on the shelf are sharper too, and large images are easier on memory. Thanks for the report that led us to it.

New: import comics straight from the Photos app. Pick an album and its photos become one book in album order, copied at original quality and processed only on your device. If you would rather not grant photo access, there is also “Pick Photos to Import”. The feature came from a user's suggestion. The entries under “Imported Folders” in the sidebar can now be dragged into any order you want (on iPhone and iPad, press and hold, then drag). Fixed on Mac: with comics in your Library, the app could freeze or quit right after launch. Tidying up the Library while a comic was open also left the reader window black. Other fixes: covers of newly imported books stayed blurry, image folders you imported directly never showed up under “Imported Folders”, and two folders with the same name were merged into one (they are now told apart by path). Novels and text books are here — this update comes from your requests and reports. • Read novels and text books — import TXT, MD and EPUB files and read them. Font, text size, line spacing, margins and background color are in “Text & Layout” at the top of the reader, and chapters are in “Contents.” Your reading position and bookmarks carry over. • Translate as you read — select a sentence or translate the whole page on your device and read it next to the original. Word meanings come straight from the dictionary. • Pinch to zoom in Webtoon — zoom with two fingers in vertical scroll and drag while zoomed in. • Switch books anytime — tap the page and the previous book and next book buttons are always there. • Better search — search runs on the search button or Return, so typing stays smooth in a large library. • New reader design — top, bottom and side controls share one floating glass style. • Page Order — if the file names are capture codes and the pages come out shuffled, set “Page Order” to “By Date Modified.” Position and bookmarks follow the same pages. • PDF quality — PDF comics render at your screen's resolution; PDFs from photos keep their original quality. • Show time left — how long is left in this book, from your reading speed. • Reading Calendar — look back on which days you read, and how much. • Auto Night Theme — at the hour you set, the reader background turns black. • View settings preview — change a value and see the result right away.
