  1. 4/5Helpful and Insightful app

My dog passed away a little over a year ago. About 10 months later, I brought in a stray planning to only find her a home. She was probably a little over a year old and her energy and bad habits (like jumping and nipping) were the main reason I had planned not to keep her. I was unable to find a shelter for her and now believe it was destiny. I came across this app when I was desperately searching for a way to train my new puppy that wouldn’t cost me hundreds of dollars (maybe even thousands). PawChamp has really great articles, and overall has helped me to understand my dog better. It has helped me be more patient and, instead of dreading having to deal with a rambunctious puppy who has no manners, I look forward to walking and playing with my dog because the obedience training and other commands we have been working on have not only taught her to listen to me better, but have affected her overall behavior. She jumps and nips significantly less. In fact, the nipping has almost disappeared. The jumping still happens when she is excited, but it’s easier to understand now that the articles on this app have made me realize that she does this because she is excited and not because she’s a bad dog. I recommend this app to anyone who truly cares about their dog and wants to reap the benefits of having a fur baby in their life! <3

  2. 4/5Read their policy carefully

I downloaded this App to help with my dog. Unfortunately shortly after downloading the app unforeseen life events occurred. Meanwhile, the subscription automatically renewed and as soon as I was charged, i tried to cancel. I was told they would not cancel my subscription because I didn’t meet the requirements for cancellation. Bottom line is, they don’t work with you. I’ve had other subscriptions that automatically renewed and as soon as I reach out to let them know I am not interested they cancel my subscription and refund my money. It’s only fair that if you don’t use the service you’re not charged. My advice is think twice before downloading this one. I can’t even tell you if what they sell works because I barely had a chance to use it since I got sick. I can safely say I won’t be going back to this company. I throw this one on the pile of those scam subscriptions Update: they contacted me and gave me fair options. I stand corrected, their customer service was very helpful and reasonable.

  3. 5/5Experienced dog owner

We have gone through many training classes with our previous four dogs & was struggling with our new 2yr old. Adventure walks have changed our walks to more fun & relaxed experiences. It helped seeing some of our past training experiences explained in different ways to make it easier this time around for us. We thought we knew all this already but we learned there is so much more we didn’t know. We were a bit disappointed it’s a yearly charge but it’s been a game changer for us. I love talking with Pawchie. I chose talking with AI because it’s quick and I get answered quickly. So many helpful suggestions and if I’m confused about something on the app I ask and Pawchie breaks it down specifically for my dogs breed. I think people assume the 28 day training challenge will happen in those 28 days and don’t realize training takes time. They give you the tools and you MUST put the effort in. Your dog isn’t going to instantly learn it all at once. I’ve seen incredible changes in my cattle/staffie/boxer/b collie/aussie mix in the year and a half we had the app. Luna was a fantastic help as a trainer giving wonderful feedback. Lisa has also been very helpful with suggestions and tips. Johnny, Daimon, Ashlynn, Stacy have all been incredibly helpful!

  4. 1/5Rip off

This is good for people who are completely new to dogs. Other than that, this has been a poor excuse for training. What I experienced was a daily checklist of basic things you do for your dog. Feed them, give them clean water, pet your dog, walk/play w the dog. The “training” consisted of writing a log of when the dog barks and what day/time it happens. For days. Nothing about how to correct it, or any training. Aside from that, cancelling is a nightmare. You have to EMAIL them directly. And if you send an email, sometimes it comes back saying the mail can’t be sent at all! I was charged $40 after the start up of $15. Tried to simply cancel it before the rollover date and next months charge. Email conveniently never went through. So was charged $40 today. After fighting with them, and being told I need to send a video proving their training didn’t work (which again, is writing down when the dog barked), they fought with me about refunding the charge. All I wanted was to cancel, days ago, and reverse the charge. More fighting for a refund lead to an offer of 1/2 the charge being refunded, then another nasty email back to them gave me the response of “we will refund the full charge”. Long story short, it’s manipulated to make sure you don’t get a refund from their “money back guarantee”. Fight for it if you need to! They are very nice email responses, sure, but still just deny any form of help from customer service.

  5. 1/5AI Heavy Lessons & Inflexible Customer Service

This app strikes me as strange with all of the clearly AI-generated images (and possibly the text) in the lessons. The lessons are extremely simplistic without much detail, and give generic information. I did not try to talk with any trainers, so I am unsure how that part of the app is. I did not want my subscription renewed after the trial date, and in my timezone it was still the previous day. However, I was charged anyway and immediately contacted customer service within one minute of the charge saying it was a mistake and asked to be refunded for the charge. They refused, saying their 'hands were tied' and that a refund would be impossible... even though it was only a minute after the charge and I am in a different timezone. I wouldn't use this app, it just screams 'AI slop' at almost every turn. Maybe contacting the trainers is better, but I did not access that part of the app because I just wanted in depth and detailed written lessons. What I got was surface level, possibly AI-written lessons with AI images (however there are some real videos in some). I can't even tell if the customer service emails were real or AI, as the response speed and content within seemed to tell me they were auto-generated. I suspect they aren't real either.
