5/5Highly recommend
I was recommended to use this app by a native Spanish speaker. And I have only been using this app for a few days but I can already say that I have improved immensely. I used Duolingo on and off for a few years and couldn’t tell you a single thing I remember learning. In these past few days my (Colombian native) boyfriend has told me how genuinely shocked he is at how well my Spanish is and even I am proud of myself. I knew next to nothing but I am already learning full sentences and phrases, and he even said I’m learning words he didn’t even know of. The videos in this app are extremely helpful, and they teach you what each little word means. Not only that but I feel like this is a way more realistic way of talking versus Duolingo teaching you things you will never use. I was worried about spending money on an app I didn’t know anything about, but I will say that my 10$ was well spent.

5/5I recommend!
I’m impressed! It’s clear that a lot of thought went into developing this platform. The navigation is incredibly user-friendly, making it easy to move through lessons without any frustration. The interface is clean, intuitive, and straightforward, which makes learning feel simple and enjoyable. What sets this app apart from others is how it balances simplicity with effectiveness – it’s not overwhelming, yet it still offers a comprehensive learning experience. I’m excited to see what new features will be added in future updates, but as it stands, they’ve built a solid foundation. It’s a great app for anyone looking to pick up a new language without feeling bogged down by unnecessary complexity.

5/5Great for Actually Learning a Language
For a while, I used Duolingo but after a year, I realized it was more scratching a completion itch in my brain rather than actually progressing my language learning. Parrot feels like its built for you to actually learn a language. It utilizes much more realistic examples and does a great job of assessing your current progression level. It then tailors its content to your level. Overall, very excited to keep using Parrot and finally get to fluent, or at least conversational, in español :)

2/5Free version is better than paid?
It was an amazing app until I payed lol, or moved further in progress... Lessons became shorter, don’t have time to memorize things. Pronunciation on click or after tasks (how it used to be on first lessons) disappeared. Same with phrases/words explanations after you choose the correct answer. There is no system that helps you with word learning, it just shows you words in order you saved them until you click that you remember it, they assume you will learn it during lessons, but they don’t repeat at all (except of basic ones). I don’t see a huge difference from Duolingo’s free version with using TikTok/youtube and they claimed it’s way better.. $100 for nothing. Just started another lesson after writing this review and the video didn’t have doubt at all..

4/5Updated - review -
I like the overall concept of this app. I like the scroll method however my biggest issue was talking with the “founders” to cancel my subscription. They kept saying it’s on your Apple subscription tab although it wasn’t and it was never listed. I told them twice and that I received a confirmation email. It was processed by a company called Paddle. It took me 3 days to be able to locate it and cancel. They still did not advise me how to cancel using the method I was forced to use. Update - The owners contacted me and with their great customer service , they have been able to help me figure everything out. Increased a Star!
