  1. 5/5Fun app!

I don't mind not having the type writing sounds, but they don't work on my end for some reason. The only real complaint I have otherwise is that I wish there were more fonts! Onto why I gave it five stars? It’s a great app, fantastic in formatting, and extremely aesthetically pleasing (as well as entirely customizable) The pro features, for me, were worth the purchase. I’m stuck with monthly until I save enough for the lifetime, but the fact that it lets you mess around with and test pro features instead of locking them behind a paywall (a reason I do not like a lot of apps. They don't let you try the features until you start a subscription or trial you may very well forget about, if it even gives yo a trial) is extremely nice. I was looking for an app that looks and feels sleek so I can sit and write, but I found this! Fully customizable. Gotta say, I like it a lot more than I thought I would. My complaints are minuscule. You don't even have to necessarily trust me on it: jump in and try it yourself. It lets you test every single feature it has.

  2. 5/5Great app; just can’t afford the premium feature at $100.

I have tried more than 20 different plain text editors from the App Store and this is the best. I just need a plain text editor that can perform search and this does it very well. Many plain text editors don’t have a search function. One app that has the search function requires 3 clicks before you can start searching. Other text editors have fonts that are so tiny (which can’t be adjusted) that it really strains the eye to read my notes. I don’t have any use for most of the premium features since I just want a plain text editor with search function. The only thing I wasn’t happy with was the 1.5 line spacing. If the default was single line spacing, this would be the perfect app for me. And I’m happy to pay a few dollars just for this function. Would Mihhail consider different pricing for different features? For example, a one-off purchase for plain text features such as font size, type and line spacing?

  3. 5/5Perfect Text Editor—only one (small) issue!

I downloaded this app and really adore it. All the great features that SHOULD come with a plain text editor are right here. I’ve been a long time supporter of Google Docs because of how accessible it is, but writing more than 15k+ words bloats the document and creates lag, which is extremely frustrating for authors like myself. Paper really comes in clutch, as I have been seeking out a plain editor for ages. What I really appreciate is the fact that you can use the Pro features as long as you’d like. Of course, there’s the pop up message that appears now and again but it still allows you to get a feel for the app just the same. With Pro, you get so much more than most other editors. I LOVE this app. But the only problem (for me) is the premium price point. I support the developer’s choice to price the Lifetime purchase at 99 dollars, as Apple pays meager amounts and Paper’s dev certainly deserves it—he‘s very responsive, attentive to issues, and has put out a very good product—yet I have a hard time justifying it at the moment because it is such a big purchase (and I can’t handle another subscription right now.) That aside, if you are willing to pay $100 for a perfect, all-inclusive text editor, this is THE app. Of course, you can use the app without the pro features at no cost, but if you are an author and need these features, I would highly recommend at least using the un-timed trial, as it shows you what you’re getting with premium.

  4. 5/5perfect! just get it

Updated: The developer of this app is incredibly responsive and immediately set to figuring out what was going on after my initial review where i had some lagging issues with certain features of the app. With in a week they had the problem fixed and now the app works wonderfully! Not only is it the best app I've found for minimal no distraction writing, I am glad to know the developer provides a direct way to talk to them if there is ever any problems that is built right into the app. The premium features cost a decent amount, but for me, it was totally worth it. You are able to customize your writing experience, which is something I value greatly to keep me focused. You are also allowed to try out the features for as long as you like before buying, which is another great plus.

  5. 5/5AMAZING!!!

At first, I thought this app would be boring like notes, but I was so wrong! Best writing app I’ve ever used! It makes writing by books, screenplays, and scripts so easy! If you have a passion for writing or just want to tell an idea through words, Paper is the best app to do so! With different fonts, a choice to use AI prompts, (never used them btw) and access to asking questions to the creator of Paper, writing has never been easier! And you can even use subscription prompts without a subscription! (If you can handle a pop up asking you to buy the subscription from time to time.) All of my ideas are in one place so when I’m writing a bit of my movie, “Light Beyond the Hills,” my books, ideas, and O.L.I.K.A.Y Animations animation layouts are safe!

Dear User, Typewriter Mode and Focus Mode can now use each other’s settings: · "Typewriter Mode → Follow Focus Mode" sets the Focusing Window to the currently selected Focus Mode option. For example, if the Focus Mode is set to Paragraph, the Typewriter Mode will not scroll until you leave the paragraph. · "Focus Mode → Typewriter Mode Window" option highlights the currently selected Focusing Window. For instance, if the window is set to 7 lines, the highlighted area would emphasize those 7 lines. These settings are mutually exclusive.
