1. 5/5Weird but generally ok

   I’m currently living out of the country for a year and my spouse and I decided to try this app to stay connected. Sometimes they ask really good questions other times it’s just way out in left field. They are obviously secularists who couldn’t imagine anyone else with different values living in the world using their app. Some times your mind gets blocked in answers and so the “example responses” are supposed to kick start your creativity. The problem is many times their “example responses” could only apply to sexual libertines and moral relativists. Even in their questions they sometimes push sexual ethics and boundaries to inappropriate places. Their questions suffer from the same myopic vision. Sometimes their questions only make sense to people steeped in their post-modern secular western value system. Could Amish even understand these questions? How about English speaking Africans, Catholic South Americans, Religious African Americans, English speaking Muslims, English speaking Hindi, Confucian Chinese? Nope most of these questions and answers are framed around white science worshiping secularists and their value system. As an example, “ Where do you see yourself relationally in Five years?” Example response: “Still in our Non-monogamous relationships but we have told our families.” Is this seriously what 90% of married couples want to have celebrated in 5 years? Like I said it’s a bit of a crapshoot some days are good other days my wife and I are like where did that question come from?

2. 3/5So far unimpressed… but hopeful.

   I like the concert very much, but it feels like it has a few holes in it that the others in the this space do not… there is no conversations tab or section so if you miss a notification under the bell (which is likely since it doesn’t show which are read and unread) you might never see your partner’s answers. This means you cannot really comment on their answers or go deeper into your own so the questions don’t get to naturally become conversation staters. The crazy part of this is that the Home Screen is busy and full - making it feel like I’m always behind it there is no simple way to see how it’s going. I was the one who suggested we do this - but if it weren’t for my partner really engaging on it I’d think of the whole this as a chore because the interface feels like homework. Also, as you answer a series of questions once you tap submit you cannot press back and edit/clarify your answer. This was especially frustrating for a course I just finished called “seasoned love” which isn’t about supporting couples who’ve been together for awhile like I hoped but instead is about how you manage the difficulty of season changes - no, not seasons of life, the four seasons. This was clear on question two but by then I could not tab back and edit answer one. If there were a chats tab or something at least then my partner and so could joke about how stupid the course was but instead I came and left this review. The app is supposed to help me talk to my partner but instead I’m talking to strangers…

3. 5/5Been looking for something like this. Really happy with this app!

   My girlfriend and I have been looking for a program like this to incorporate into our daily lives. We have a very healthy relationship, however are always trying to take action steps to improve it. I think it’s incredibly important to have an open channel of dialogue with my significant other and Paired makes it that much easier. We love the daily tips because they are easily digestible and they always focus on pertinent topics related to growing a relationship in a healthy way. The app also features a wide variety of courses you and your significant other can work on together. My girlfriend and I just finished the Relationship Foundations course and learned a lot about how to better support each other and resolve disagreements. Another interesting feature on Paired is the Daily Question, which newly populates every day. This question is usually posed by a certified professional and is intended to spark communication between you and your partner. My girlfriend and I regularly start our mornings by answering the question, and have found it to be a great conversation starter for the day. My girlfriend and I are huge fans of this app. I highly recommend the Paired Premium plan for any couple looking to grow in their relationship.

4. 5/5You Get Out Of It What You Put Into It

   The best relationship advice i ever got was “Stop searching for the “right” person and start “BEING” the right person.” You want a person who is a 10 out of 10 right? Well you can’t be a 5 expecting a 10 to want you. 10’s attract 10’s. So focus on being the best you that you can be, and upon doing so, you will see the stars align for you. This is by far one of the better apps out there that is truly worth paying for. You really do get out of it what you put into it and i think that if you both can be truthfully honest, as well as brutally honest, it will truly bring the two of you together. It gives you an opportunity to really get into your significant others head, which lesssss be honest, you wouldn’t have been able to do so otherwise because 9/10 couples are afraid of being honest with each other, let alone being “brutally” honest. So; if you’re looking for a review that says “this app is worth every penny and you should totally download it!” well then you have my vote! Good luck to those looking to better their relationship and not give up on something just because it’s hard! It really is amazing to see people stick together, work their problems out and make it thru 60 years. Can you say #thenotebook #bobbleheadstogether #togetheruntilvelcrow

5. 4/5Overall Good - But Improvements Needed!

   We have been using for a month and overall, the app is pretty good. But, I think there are a few key areas that if modified would majorly improve the app and user experience/benefit—especially for a paid service and continued subscription. 1) the app should personalize/filter the content pushed to its users so it’s relevant to them .This could be accomplished in the initial couple profile creation and questionnaire. ex. If I am married to a man and we are both straight, content related to the queer experience isn’t relevant or helpful to improving our relationship, whereas it could be helpful to others who fit that criteria. There are areas in the app that do only apply to those dating vs those who are married, divorced etc., and those with kids or without and contemplating having them. 2) I thought the chat function as it is currently setup would be more helpful than it is. The app would benefit from having a separate notifications section so one partner is notified when the other completes a questionnaire, quiz, etc. I think it would be more helpful if the couples could “chat” within each actual questionnaire, open ended question, quiz once completed. The reactions function in the open ended questions is nice, but would be much better if you could also enter comments, follow-up questions etc. to your partner as well. This provides an opportunity for a conversation to be started between the couple after reviewing answers. Unless you and your partner are physically sitting next to each other when completing and reviewing these things (which the majority of the time is not the case we have found), I think the benefit is reduced without that “next step”.
