1. 4/5Great for organizing and base weight

   I really like how you can make multiple lists for different load outs (like for different seasons etc) and you can have a big inventory of all your gear... my only complaint is that you have to manually enter EVERYTHING which is very time consuming. It would be nice if they kept a database online that you could search as you add gear with the weight and category already saved. Then if you are adding something not saved on the database, you would add it manually, but the next person would be able to search it. Overall it’s really a great tool to make sure I am bringing everything I need, and only what I need and be cognizant of my base weight. I recently had some back issues, and while I’ve never really cared how much my pack weighed, I am wanting to conserve my back as best I can so I can continue backpacking until I can’t walk anymore. Cheers to growing old!

2. 4/5A great start, update

   Customizable categories - bravo. Not only did you add categories, but changing an item’s category doesn’t mess up any pre-established lists, but adds the new category to the old list. Excellent. I promised you half a star for that one, and yep — it gets to round up to 4-stars now. I do still have 1 support issue I would like to address, and I still don’t have Twitter — can you contact me directly with an email address — I promise I won’t share it or abuse it. Original review follows: This is a great start to a very needed app. So far, everything works exactly how it is advertised and intended. No bugs or glitches have reared their heads for me, which is awesome for a privately developed app. I only have one gripe, and I will list that at the end of this review. Here are my suggestions to make it much more useful: 1 — iPad interface (landscape mode, not the double-sized phone interface). I truly despise doing data entry on my phone when there is a perfectly good iPad with a keyboard sitting right next to me!!! 2 — The ability to create our own categories. I see a lot of reviewers have listed this as a desired feature. You have a decent set of categories, but they don’t organize things the way I want them grouped. 3 — A *really* nice feature would be the ability to add gear lists to a gear list. (I.e., tp + trowel + sanitizer -> toiletries, then add “toiletries” to any other list instead of adding each item seperately.) Item 1 would get you another star. Item 2 would get you a 1/2 star, and item 3 would get you another 1/2 — five stars are within your grasp... ;) My only gripe so far (and it didn’t cost you any stars) is that you are only offering support via Twitter. Some people (gasp!) don’t have Twitter (or Facebook, or pretty much any other social media). I am not going to sign up for a Twitter account just to communicate with you, so instead of a private exchange, this had to be posted in a public review...

3. 5/5Beats me keeping a huge spreadsheet for all my adventures

   I’ve used this app for backpacking to car camping and found it super easy to use. You input all your gear into the app to create an inventory. You can choose to add the weight of the item, which helps me keep my pack weight in check. You also can categorize your gear, which helped me focus on, for instance, everything I needed for cooking. Once you’ve created the the gear list then you create a packing list for whatever your adventure is. Currently I have one for car camping, a weekend hike on the Florida Trail and a section hike on the AT. It also has a feature that allows me to check off items as I pack. I truly have enjoyed using and having the app!

4. 5/5Wonderful App

   I love this app because it will show me the things I should know before heading off into the wilderness. By that I mean, if I take the time to weigh all my gear for a specific geo area, at least I have a clue of how much weight I will actually be hauling. I have several categories of these places and depending on time of season and location, I get to plan ahead and get things in order. Rather than just trying a pack on after putting it together and finding out miles away from camp that it’s to uncomfortable or just to heavy. And everything must be pre packed, again, according to the climate and time of year. This app makes those decisions much easier to determine. Yes, I enjoy this application very much!

5. 5/5No more guessing at weight!!!!

   I kept trying to make my own “simplified” way of packing for different trips and having to weigh after I filled the bag. This app saves me so much time after I weigh all my gear separately one time. When I change gear it’s so simple to change the pack. It also has a checklist feature so i can make sure I don’t forget anything. It backs up to the cloud so you don’t have to worry and there’s an export feature to .csv. I ran into some issues but the support was so quick to response and helped me navigate through the few bugs I ran into. This app is a breeze for packing.
