"body": "Let’s be honest - ads are required for a news feed to survive if you don’t pay them real money. However, in exchange, I expect not to be served an endless feed of auto-generated pseudo-articles that lead you into clickbait sites. This is by far the biggest downside to the app - hey have zero interest in providing a high quality news feed. They do allow you to specify which sources you want to follow, then inject pure garbage into your feed. You can opt to dislike an article or block a source, but both respond with we’ll show you less of that. The layout is also horrendous. The app was designed for an iPhone & only supports portrait format when landscape is often better scrolling at the top level. It doesn’t matter in this app though since they serve up a mix of half and quarter-screen stories rather than a tidy collection of titled thumbnails. The designs of Apple News and SmartNews are vastly better than this app. However, the former offers fewer feed choices and the latter injects so many adds that the app eventually freezes and requires force-quitting AND turning off your device WiFi to kill it. Still looking for a clean news reader.",

"body": "Still the WORST app. Not even the worst news app, just the worst app. When I click on a notification for a news story it takes me to the apps homepage and then you cannot find the article, unless you use the in-app search function…. Which is just Goggle. You’re not able to search Opera News’ articles within their own app. Finally deleting this incredibly frustrating app Update many months later: STILL the WORST news app that exists I can’t even read the articles on the website, it redirects me to download the app instead of seeing the full story like the button says. Terrible company. Unreliable reporting and so many road blocks it’s not worth it.",

"body": "I get overwhelmed by apps over-notifying me about things, and I made a conscious decision not to enable notifications for this app. I want to open the app when I wanna open it and look at news articles when I want to look at them. Unfortunately, several times since I first opened this app, I’ve been prompted to enable notifications fairly aggressively and the app is unusable unless I force close it and restart it. Apple should not allow app developers to repeatedly ask users for notification permissions after the first time if they say no.",

"body": "This app hounds you over and over to reveal your city. Once you do, just to stop that, it hounds you with endless local crap. There is a “Local” tab, but local stories pop up everywhere. I’m sick of seeing stories about Houston murders, crimes, etc. There is no way to stop it, or to opt out of them. The app also sends tons of sensationalistic crap from a myriad of sources: Local TV, entertainment mags, obscure rags of all kinds. Between the local crap and the sensationalistic stupid crap, it is hard to find anyone worth reading. I finally deleted the app. Don’t waste your time!",

"body": "Just got the app yesterday. This morning, none of the articles can be read in the app, and only a partial photo appears! I try opening it and I still can't see the whole article. Plus, I really dislike that I cannot read this in 'Landscape' mode on my iPad! I'll give it a couple of days to be fixed, and then I will be deleting it...too bad, because I was starting to enjoy it.",
