   This app is awesome, but I saw in a recent review that someone thinks you have to pay for music. I believe this is only true if you’re importing files through Apple Music, but, at the end of the day, this app is a glorified MP3 player, meaning it reads audio files. If you can find some .mp3 files (which is not hard) and store them on your phone, in a Google Drive, or one of the other several options given in the “Import” tab, then you can have as much music as you want without paying a dime. You’ll probably have to change the metadata (song title, artist name, album name, cover art, etc.) for most, if not all, songs, but it’s worth it for such an intuitive phone MP3 player. And premium is nice too! I wouldn’t say the lifetime payment is worth full price, nor is it worth paying monthly or yearly at all in my opinion, but I happened to get it at a one-time purchase at a discount. Unfortunately, I don’t use most of the big features (better equalizer, smart playlists) but I do love the unlimited sharing and playlists, zero ads, and getting to see what my most listened to songs are. That said, you can absolutely enjoy this app without premium. Overall, this app is great. It’s intuitive, very customizable, and it almost makes the MP3 player experience feel premium in and of itself. My only gripes with the app are features that I’d want but totally understand why they aren’t here. Take it from someone with over 1000 tracks—it rocks!

   I had requested a track count for each playlist. It already existed for the grand total of all tracks. My email was responded to pretty quickly and my request was fulfilled in the very next update. I have several playlists and some tracks on 2 or more playlists. I think there’s no limit on playlists. I am routinely adding more music and recordings to my current 700+ tracks. This app is sleek, smooth, and ready all the time. 10 band equalizer, pre-amp, bass boost, treble boost, and several preset options. Access your music by track name, artist, album, date. The player has 15 sec FFWD, 15 sec REW - helpful if you’re studying recorded information. (That was my initial intent for this app. It is fantastic for that purpose and holds my place if I close/reopen the app or go to another track and return to a lengthy lecture - right where I left off). It also has shuffle and favorites. In technology there’s always a nuance more that can be done and this developer seems to care about that. I’m not techy and importing was tricky for me to learn in the device to device method. That’s probably me. Direct from Apple Music is super easy. There are instructions in the app and they’re always accessible. If you’re “renting” tracks, they won’t load. If you “own” them and can get them into Apple Music, they will. Remember that when importing. Do I love this app? Can you tell?

3. 5/5Great MP3 Player

   I decided to use this application instead of buying a iPod or other type of MP3 player so I paid to get the full application and stop the ads. I installed it on an old mini iPad2 and a newer 5th generation mini iPad. The application works great and getting music files from my iCloud sources works great. However, after installing a recent update, that I wish I never used, the app crashed on my mini iPad2 every time i would attempt to use it. That iPad uses iOS 12.5.5 which is old but after contacting the developer (and Apple) about this issue another update was provided the very next day. After updating the app again it doesn’t crash anymore but it fails to play my music files. I just hear a buzzing sound. Before I updated the iPad2 the application worked perfectly and it played all my music files. So I’m waiting to see if another update comes through so the music files will play on the older mini iPad. Maybe the iPad2 operating system is too old. However, my 5th generation mini iPad runs the application perfectly and I’m totally happy with that! I would recommend getting this MP3 player! It’s a very nice application and you can make your playlists and it plays perfectly.

4. 2/5MAJOR Bugs/Issues

   I’ve been using this app for around 3 years now with no problems, until I decided to transfer all of my tracks to a different device because I was upgrading my phone. The song transfer itself was no problem, but when the transfer was done I realized that around 70% of the transferred tracks lost their cover art, had an unremovable .mp3 text at the end of their title, and had several periods after the track title that were also unremovable. The little counter that shows how many times the track was played was also set back to zero instead of carrying the values. About a month later all of these tracks completely deleted themselves off of my phone out of absolutely nowhere. Now I’ve lost over 150 tracks that I have to re-import back into my phone, needing to manually change the cover art, and rename every single one. Not to mention, during the track transfer I noticed that tons of tracks straight up just aren’t available to transfer. They simply just don’t show up on the list that you select when you transfer (primarily because the text font on the title wasn’t default, which there is NO WARNING for), leaving me to have to add all of the tracks that weren’t listed on my own again, through the internet; that is if I can even find some of the files that I originally had. After around 2 hours of configuring what I had before, I can now only just live in fear hoping that something like this won’t happen again.

5. 5/5Probably the best music app out there, at least for mobile. One star removed for slow loadup.

   Now, I’d like to start with this— this app does operate on downloading. It does not come with any pre-loaded songs. You must download and upload all of your music. However, once you’ve done that, none of the issues with other music apps really occur. Ads are extremely minimal and never interrupt music in my experience— they’ll only appear as temporary pieces on your screen which can be quickly flicked away, and they’re never in your music. You can rewind songs, shuffle them (somewhat basically, but still), anything. Pretty much all the features of mainstream music apps are free here. My only real complaint with this app is the slow loadup screen. When you open the app, it takes a good five to ten seconds to open your music due to this startup animation of the name of the app. This isn’t really a big deal, but it is the only annoying feature the app has built in, and I’d like it removed.
