   Works much like an offline Apple Music app. You can load recordings already stored in Apple Music, but also from those stored in Files on your phone, so it’s a great app for playing your own recordings made on and saved directly to your iPhone. Never understood why Apple Music won’t let you load sound files recorded via iPhone’s Garageband. Crazy. This app solves that problem. I now use it as much or more than Apple Music. It also has an in-app multi-frequency equalizer that you can adjust and save as presets which can be turned on and of without going to settings—handy for increasing volume above the usual limit when ambient noise like traffic interferes. Works great offline and on airplanes. Works with Air-play. Does not keep play history and upcoming shuffle lists. The only annoyance I find is the too-large double-stacked box toward the top (search and shuffle tools) that abruptly pops up or disappears as you change scrolling directions through playlists (fix it and 4-1/2 stars become five).

2. 2/5MAJOR Bugs/Issues

   I’ve been using this app for around 3 years now with no problems, until I decided to transfer all of my tracks to a different device because I was upgrading my phone. The song transfer itself was no problem, but when the transfer was done I realized that around 70% of the transferred tracks lost their cover art, had an unremovable .mp3 text at the end of their title, and had several periods after the track title that were also unremovable. The little counter that shows how many times the track was played was also set back to zero instead of carrying the values. About a month later all of these tracks completely deleted themselves off of my phone out of absolutely nowhere. Now I’ve lost over 150 tracks that I have to re-import back into my phone, needing to manually change the cover art, and rename every single one. Not to mention, during the track transfer I noticed that tons of tracks straight up just aren’t available to transfer. They simply just don’t show up on the list that you select when you transfer (primarily because the text font on the title wasn’t default, which there is NO WARNING for), leaving me to have to add all of the tracks that weren’t listed on my own again, through the internet; that is if I can even find some of the files that I originally had. After around 2 hours of configuring what I had before, I can now only just live in fear hoping that something like this won’t happen again.

3. 5/5It’s Great + Tips

   This app is awesome, but I saw in a recent review that someone thinks you have to pay for music. I believe this is only true if you’re importing files through Apple Music, but, at the end of the day, this app is a glorified MP3 player, meaning it reads audio files. If you can find some .mp3 files (which is not hard) and store them on your phone, in a Google Drive, or one of the other several options given in the “Import” tab, then you can have as much music as you want without paying a dime. You’ll probably have to change the metadata (song title, artist name, album name, cover art, etc.) for most, if not all, songs, but it’s worth it for such an intuitive phone MP3 player. And premium is nice too! I wouldn’t say the lifetime payment is worth full price, nor is it worth paying monthly or yearly at all in my opinion, but I happened to get it at a one-time purchase at a discount. Unfortunately, I don’t use most of the big features (better equalizer, smart playlists) but I do love the unlimited sharing and playlists, zero ads, and getting to see what my most listened to songs are. That said, you can absolutely enjoy this app without premium. Overall, this app is great. It’s intuitive, very customizable, and it almost makes the MP3 player experience feel premium in and of itself. My only gripes with the app are features that I’d want but totally understand why they aren’t here. Take it from someone with over 1000 tracks—it rocks!

   Overall, I really like this app and I use it often. I can put all sorts of audio files from various sources in one place. But it still could use some work. It would be nice to be able to actually import to a playlist. There’s a button that implies this, but any imports just go straight to the main list and you then must move them to a playlist. Why can’t I also transfer an entire playlist, with the playlist structure, to another user? It would also be nice if it saved your place in any and all playlists, even after switching to another list. It does have a count for each time a track is played, but a save file could save the exact track and time, loading that place when the playlist is resumed. I have many audiobooks on the app and switching between a book and music (or other book) would be much easier if it saved my place. Lastly, I tried to email the developer with suggestions, but this feature only works with the Apple email app. I don’t have an account set up there and didn’t think I wanted to take the time to send one email. Give me more contact options. The phone has a whole menu of options for virtually every other app.

5. 5/5Probably the best music app out there, at least for mobile. One star removed for slow loadup.

   Now, I’d like to start with this— this app does operate on downloading. It does not come with any pre-loaded songs. You must download and upload all of your music. However, once you’ve done that, none of the issues with other music apps really occur. Ads are extremely minimal and never interrupt music in my experience— they’ll only appear as temporary pieces on your screen which can be quickly flicked away, and they’re never in your music. You can rewind songs, shuffle them (somewhat basically, but still), anything. Pretty much all the features of mainstream music apps are free here. My only real complaint with this app is the slow loadup screen. When you open the app, it takes a good five to ten seconds to open your music due to this startup animation of the name of the app. This isn’t really a big deal, but it is the only annoying feature the app has built in, and I’d like it removed.
