3/5Love, but the bugs need to be fixed
I am loving this thing so far, but there are quite a few bugs that need to be sorted out for it to be perfect. For one, the auto clean feature does not work at all. I set it to on, and it won’t do anything. I have to add a “clean” track manually in between each of my tracks to achieve this, which limits you to only about 10 tracks you actually want to use because you can only add 20 at a time and each one should have a track between them. Second, I am not seeing a way to turn this thing off. I ended up just stopping the track manually last night, and when I woke up, it was off. But I’m not seeing a way to do it myself when I want as I do not want this running all the time. Third, the live drawing mode rarely ever works and is constantly saying that I do not have a connection to my device which is untrue. It also is almost impossible to control and get a decent line whenever it does decide to work it seems as if you have to perfect your drawing in one shot as there are no undo or delete buttons, and your line does not start in the center. As a professional etch a sketch artist, I was really drawn to this device since everything on it is drawn in one single line. I figured that it would be easy to create my own art because of my profession, but it is too difficult to use to get a good image. Lastly, you can change the ball speed, but it doesn’t really seem to change anything. It is slow in general, but I would expect the ball to move a little bit faster. Sometimes it takes roughly an hour to finish one image because of the ball speed. Anyway, I understand that this is a newly released kick starter project so there is bound to be some bugs. And I would happily buy this thing 10 times over if I had the money because it’s still really awesome to watch. Just a few suggestions that I believe could really take this to the next level.

1/5So excited to finally get it but…
I paid a lot of money on Kickstarter because I loved the idea of a small zen table, and waited over a year to finally receive my Oasis Mini. While it is a beautiful product, I’ve gotten it to connect and work successfully a total of three times since getting it a month ago. When it works correctly, it’s great, but once it loses connection, there’s no getting it back. Here are my biggest issues: 1. There is no on/off switch, so it randomly turns on while sitting dormant on my desk. 2. It gets VERY warm while using, so I unplug it while I’m gone because I’m afraid the lights will turn on while I’m not around and get overheated. 3. No matter how many times I’ve tried the reconnection process and trouble shooting, it still won’t connect. 4. It hums oddly when running. I was hoping it might be a more relaxing sound with the ball rolling, but all I can hear (and feel on my desk) is the vibration of the motor. Basically I paid good money for a giant paper weight. Hopefully they fix the connection issues soon, because I’m extremely frustrated with the product and money wasted.

3/5Functional App, Suggestions Below:
The product is amazing! I’d rate it a 9/10, with the only deduction being weird vibrating noises on occasion (seems to be when the ball is closest to the sides or the direct center). The app is functional, but could be improved. I have figured out how to add tracks, adjust the order (a bit janky, but understandable), and delete (gotta swipe on the track, then hit the trash icon). It is not very intuitive *how* to do these things, but functionality is there. You cannot seem to create your own track if the playlist/tracks are active. Only when completely empty can I control the ball myself/make my own track. Lighting functionality is good, but again not intuitive to the user. You enter lighting settings by selecting the 3 dots below the pattern on top of the tracks page. Then, there is a semicircle you can slide a node on to change the lighting mode. From there, you have a color wheel, brightness bar, and speed bar which are all relatively self-explanatory. I would like to see some of the modes incorporate the color wheel selection more (mainly confetti mode, as currently it only has a yellowish hue). I have only had the product for 2 days, but do believe I have some sort of bug. For the first day, it seemed fine aside from those vibration noises I noted (honestly not terrible). But now I notice the ball seems to “avoid” a circle in the middle on (some? all?) of my tracks. Thinking it’s a software issue, as this didn’t seem to happen the first day and then became a thing after recent update.

4/5Awesome overall, worth buying!!!
There need to be more good reviews for this because it has a bunch of cool features and has a solid foundation to build on. I believe in supporting small companies and this is a really cool idea. The physical quality is very good. Solid body, strong magnet, many cool light settings, and I can tell the hardware is sturdy. The designs are even more impressive in real life and there’s a nice variety with many more to come I hope. Everyone who sees it at my house asks about it and is mesmerized by it. The concept is great, and filled with many features with unlimited potential. Version one just needs more work to actualize that potential. The Oasis app gets updated often and for good reason. It is far from perfect and there are quite a few bugs, but if you have a little patience you’re rewarded with a really cool decoration. If I typed out all of the imperfections, this would be a long review. What’s important is I get the impression that Oasis is on it and working everything out as fast as they can. For example I haven’t been able to use the feature that lets me control the ball with my finger but I look forward to it! I’d love to be able to make a design and permanently save it to a playlist. If you guys get this sorted by December, I’m gonna buy 10 of them to give as gifts. I play with it almost everyday and when it’s great it’s really great, and when it’s acting up it’s still a little bit better than so-so. I really look forward to more designs and usability.

3/5Can’t turn on/off from the app or auto off feature?
Getting better but missing 1 key feature. I love my mini but I hate that you physically have to turn it on and off instead of using the app. It also needs the ability to turn itself off after completing a playlist so it doesn’t just sit there with the lights on. Finally (and this is just more of a wishlist item than a crucial fix that needs to happen) I would love it if you could select more than one color at a time for the light effects. (Ex. With Christmas getting closer I would like to be able to set the colors to red and green). I love this enough to preorder the side table but if there’s no app on/off and auto off feature but the time it releases I don’t think I’ll be ordering it. After all, a small oasis in my living room that’s constantly on is one thing, but a much bigger one right next to my bed that I constantly have to manually turn on and off when I’m trying to use it to fall asleep? Kinda defeats the whole purpose of buying it in the first place.
