3/5Stingy Trial
I’m a first-time founder in the early stages of bootstrapping my business. This means that I am wearing many hats, have another career, and am incredibly busy. I downloaded the app and tried to sign up for the trial. The app got locked up while creating my account and I never got to use it. When I tried looking at Nutshell again several weeks later on my laptop, it turns out that my 14 day trial had ended. Someone in customer service offered me a 7-day trial extension (more than once), but every time I have a quiet moment to try the app, my trial has just expired and I waste more time contacting customer service yet again. I wish they had given me a full month to try it out, because investing in a CRM is a very important commitment and I needed to get into the intricacies of the app to make sure it would work for me in the long run.

3/5No email functionality :(
The nutshell mobile app definitely isn’t as powerful as desktop but the biggest annoyance for me is that it doesn’t have the emails functionality built in like the emails tab in the bottom left of desktop nav bar. And to make matters worse, if you open a contact and click their email address, nothing happens. It should at least launch the outlook iOS app or whatever your phone’s default mail client is but it doesn’t. Wish nutshell would bring full email functionality including open tracking to the app.

5/5Great CRM!
We have been using nutshell for over a year now and find it to be very user friendly. The user interface is simple and easy to understand. We have a sales team of 10 and nutshell allows me to orchestrate my team without being copied on every single email. The timeline feature is great as it syncs our entire teams emails, leads, and activities while at the same time creating a self contained ecosystem where we can chat and pass comments back and forth on all we have going on. Leads and contacts can easily be created from scanning business cards and the new Microsoft outlook sync feature has taken it to the next level. Highly recommend!

5/5Don’t sleep on this one.
For both small businesses and larger organizations, the updated version of Nutshell is impressive. The platform offers robust pipeline customization, strong reporting, and meaningful AI features—putting it in direct competition with far more expensive CRM systems. The ability to manage leads, quotes, and invoices in one place, combined with comprehensive marketing tools, was the tipping point for me. It’s not free, but it’s also not overpriced—especially if you choose the plan that fits your needs.

3/5Great Customer Service, App Needs Updating
Love the Nutshell team, they are always so accommodating and helpful! The only problem I really have right now is the lack of iPad and mobile support that the Nutshell app offers. For instance, adding a company. I can’t do that on my phone, the app closes every time. I also can’t turn the screen to use my iPad keyboard so should I use it to type my screen is turned to the side and I have to read sideways. It’s a great online platform but the app needs to reflect the capabilities of the website too!
