  1. 5/5Excellently stable

Compared to many of the other virtual instruments I use with GarageBand, this one is the most stable by far. There was only one instance ever where it has acted up on me, and that appears to been patched as it was about 7-8 months ago minimum when it glitched and hasn’t happened since. This is also excellent if you want to put bits of music on multiple instruments to make cool timbres that otherwise aren’t really possible. Just trust me. This plugin is awesome.

  2. 4/5Free is a good thing, but you get what you pay for

This is, thus far, a very interesting approach to generating music on ISO devices. Now admittedly, I’m just getting into it but I’m using it as a standalone unit right now and maybe that’s the problem. Because when I hit the keyboard button so I can hear, what I’m doing as I program and make changes with the different effects, every time I example or change level, the keyboard disappears. So I have to go to the pulldown menu and the keyboard to come back. God, what a pain! So I’ll use it inside GarageBand iOS and see if the problem remains and get back to everybody.

  3. 5/5Ok vro 10/10 piano

New review: stage D has blown me away, it is just, expressive and realistic for only ~250mb, I wish it has more samples im fine with like 400mb or heck even 800mb if it has more realism and samples and quality (please give it for free to existing stage d users if you EVEN think about making it a purchase), the new modeling engine, really good, really nice resonance and releases, overall very and super enjoyable stage d, for only 20$??? This is a steal

  4. 5/5Previous issues resolved. But requesting Balance control

Everything is as awesome as I’ve previously stated… except a bug has reared its head. If you keep the sustain pedal depressed for some seconds and done some busy playing, when you hit 510 active voices the volume of newly played notes becomes significantly lower. This happens even if you are running multi-core. EDIT: issue resolved. It was deep in my midi configuration. That said, it would be awesome if the app included a Balance control. Either in each individual Zone (ideal), or in the Master out section. There are many instances where running this app into one channel, and a different music instrument app into the other, would be a godsend.

  5. 5/5😮 Wow! Beyond belief! A free app that sounds this AMAZING!

Having so many apps for IOS, and pioneering the way back in Steinberg’s VST and VSTi’s soft synths so I feel like I have a credible understanding of price points, and what sounds good, and what doesn’t! I’m very impressed at the quality of the samples, (which is not as easy as one may think) it depends on how the instruments were recorded, where they were recorded and what they were recorded with. Then you must consider the mics they used as well as the all the gear that the sound flows through. We must understand that a developer could have the best samples of each instrument, each note perfectly recorded, perfectly played… and have those samples sound awful!!! Why? Because of the sound flow coming back out. The note must come from the recorded sample with the correct sound envelope (an analog sound coming from a digital platform) If the developers algorithm grabs the sample and it pops it out a millisecond late with a soft attack (when it is a piano) and the decay is too sort, it will NOT sound good! So the developer has done an amazing job with the SOUND FLOW… No matter how sound driven we are, if the GUI (what we see) is ugly we will automatically think the sound isn’t great. (Now we can get passed that) however if we have a beautiful layout, and simple workflow, AND HAVE AN AMAZING sound, we then get excited! ***you may ask, what more could someone ask for, well we still must look at the onboard effects! Delay and Reverb are the most popular effects, and there are so many out there that just sound awful when they come as a part of a bigger app… (that’s why there are SO MANY apps that offer just effects) You will be surprised that these are quality effects and the developer (not sure if it’s an indie app, or if the developer is a team) but could offer their effects as a stand alone app. I can only hope that the developer has more sound sets that they will offer. I think anyone who has the opportunity to use this app, will be glad to pay for whatever the developer offers! Thank you developer (or team of developers) for making a great sounding app that ANYONE can afford! Much appreciated!
