   This app is honestly the best note taking app there is in my experience, and I’ve tried a lot. Its smooth, fast, and lets you make lots of folders and organize things. It also has decent manual export options if you’re not into backing them up ways that are unfortunately more popular now. All that said, the big issue is the app has a couple really annoying bugs as I write this. Mainly you can make a folder completely unusable to where you can’t even access your notes if you copy and paste hyperlinks from bingai I believe and they won’t help you get those notes back. In addition, folders somehow get messed up and won’t make your most recent note appear at the top so you have to search for it every time or move everything to a new folder to correct this. So yeah, support is lacking a lot to the point where I may have to switch apps at some point, but really I don’t want to. I paid for this and I really think it is the best note app by far, and with no subscription as well. So I really hope they step up their support.

2. 4/5Intuitive and Concentration-Facilitating, But Limited

   The app is great so far! In was looking for something that had an option for folders within folders because my notes get messy! This will be very useful for organizing my life and my various endeavors and plans. I was also looking for something that was typing focused (a lot of these apps only allow handwriting or require you to create finicky text boxes). What I wanted was more like a google docs or word doc within an app, though, and there’s no options to customize things like font, font size, font color, or page color, nor can images be resized and moved around like those types of documents. I’d also like it if we could import and use stickers and doodle atop these documents like some more journal-centric apps (that usually focus on handwriting). Like some other apps (or even socials), I wish there was a way to “pin” one main document to the top of a folder or “star” it so I can easily find it and keep checking back on it to stay on track. Third big point, while it’s useful to import links and photos and documents into a page we’re working on, I wish there was an option to just import them directly into the folder itself. I also wish it had an option to link notes to other notes—something like znote’s notebook app has maybe, where you can share it as an ‘app clip’. Still a great app with the basics down, very useful to my easily-sidetracked mind that has trouble going from app to app and mini task to mini task or notebook to notebook— but it doesn’t feel ‘complete’ for my own purposes. Edit 5/28 This app has helped me control my life and organize all the different parts of me. A significant number of the features I wanted seem to have been added, but I’m lately running into an insane amount of bugs!!! I open the app to some folder, or I’m typing something, and it says ‘synching’ and then crashes. And then I’ll try to open it again, and it’s on that page and goes ‘synching’ immediately and then crashes. This happens up to 3 repeats before the app closes itself, and sometimes that doesn't fix it either. I’ve tried to contact support but there’s only the general feedback email and they haven’t replied yet.

   This app is very good and functionally does what I need it to. I spent months looking for an app to replace my previous one that is no longer supported. This came the closest to doing what I need. It allows multiple folders and folders within folders, allows both video and photo uploads, allows manual organization and lets you put written notes within the folders (surprisingly some apps don’t allow notes or manual organization!) Like I said, functionally works great. Esthetically, it could use a slight upgrade. It looks almost sterile. The two biggest upgrades I’d like to see that would make it five stars is to allow inserting multiple photos at a time instead of only one by one and to have a number count for the photos. (Such as 1 of 20 etc). I use this to organize my collections using photos and it would be nice to know how many I have simply by clicking on one of the pictures. Edit: I’ve been using this app for two years and sadly there have been none of the updates I’d love to see. I add multiple pictures and it is soooo tedious to have to add them one at a time.

4. 5/5I LOVE THIS APP

   I probably use this app about once every few hours, no joke—which is a lot for me, considering I rarely spend much time on any app. But this app has genuinely improved my life in so many ways, especially in managing my ADHD. I’m pretty scatterbrained, but being able to organize different folders for things I want to revisit later—like articles, essays, or personal journal entries—has made my life feel much more organized. I’m paying for the subscription, and in my opinion, it is SO worth it. Customization is really important to me, so I’m thrilled that I can change the app icon and font to my liking. I also love that there are multiple versions of light and dark mode; sometimes, the default options can feel too bright or too dull depending on my surroundings, so having a choice is amazing. I even prefer this app over Notion! I’ve tried several times to make Notion work for me, but it’s just too cluttered and overwhelming. With Noto, I feel free to customize it without feeling bogged down by unnecessary features. It’s literally perfect—I can’t think of a single thing I’d change. And to be clear, I’m not sponsored or affiliated with Noto. I rarely write reviews and don’t remember getting any notification to review this app, but maybe I missed it. Honestly, I just felt compelled to write this because I love it that much. I’d recommend it to anyone!

5. 4/5Highly recommend, tho it needs a few small improvements

   Tl;dr: Solid app, lots of fun and useful features, usable w/o the subscription, but it's cheap and worth it. Turn on "reduce animation", though, to avoid crashes. First the pros. There are multiple fonts and sizes! You can create folders within folders! And pick the colors. There are also quote blocks, horizontal rules, tables. You can insert pictures *and scale them*. You can even add a pic as a bullet point. Plus several other cool features. The cons. I had a ton of crashes until I turned on reduce animation. It was also hard to figure out how to get it to stop italicizing things when I used asterisks or underscores, though I eventually did. When you highlight a word there's no "look up" options. Whatever the reason for this is, it needs to be fixed! Did I spell that word right, my predictive text seemed pretty confused? Did I just make it up? Idk cause I can't look it up from the app. Also, the most recent update seems to have changed the bullet points from whatever color the folder is to a boring white (presumably black in light mode). That was one of my favorite "little touches". I won't die, but still. Sort of a con is that many of those features require a subscription. Which it's certainly worth paying for, just the whole subscription thing is kind of annoying to me. But. The price is not at all bad, and it's a one-year sub, so I can live with it.
