Not Just Words

We fixed a bug where searching in a book or group where the search target was also the name of a book or group, would find the wrong things. For example, searching for "gospel near baptism in NT" would match gospel on all the gospel books instead of just the verses with the word gospel in them.

We completely rewrote everything from scratch to take advantage of the new generation of operating systems. We added speech for daily reading and search results, so your phone will read the chapter or verses to you. This also improved performance, enabling us to expand the thesaurus. We added the ability for you to edit the thesaurus. In case we missed some words you search for, or if you want to change some of the ones we already have. We added ~ search. You could already do =search to find just that word, ~search will let you find variations of the word, but it won't reference the thesaurus. So you if you specifically want to search for prayer, you can search for "=prayer" to find just prayer and Prayer. "~prayer" will find pray, prays, praying, prayer, prayed, prayers, ... But "pray" will find all those plus petition, beseech, etc... We added Chinese bibles and they also have the "smart kanji" feature that the Japanese bibles have. And they can be read with pinyin as ruby text, or as just pinyin with no Chinese characters if that's what you prefer. And we included NIV 1984 version.

We added a setting so you can turn off the daily reminders if you're behind in your reading.

We fixed a bug where the app could crash if you rotated your phone too fast while in the parallel Bibles mode. We also added a new way of searching for verse ranges “Rom 1:12-e” will find verses from 12 to the end of the chapter. So will “Rom 1:12+” “Rev 16-e” will show chapters 16-22 of Revelation So will “Rev 16+”

We added a speed setting for speech. So you can have your daily reading read to you faster, (or slower), if you want. And we added an auto continue reading option, so speech will automatically move to the next chapter and keep reading for you.

We kept the audio playing for daily reading, even when the screen goes to sleep.

We changed the "Share" button on the Search screen to use PDF format instead of html. We also made it format the verses as a block if they are a block of text.

added a copy button to the search view. copies text as a block if it looks like one. (for example if you search for "Ro1", and then copy, the pasteboard will contain the text from Romans 1 as a block, rather than individual verses. But if you search for "Rome", and then copy, the pasteboard will contain individual verses with the full reference and the text for each one). we tweaked and fixed a few other little things.

Apologies. We fixed the search which we broke in our rush to get out a new feature.

we improved the choices for yearly reading plans. you can choose sequential, chronological, old and new, random, or even custom where you choose the start and end chapters, and the start and end date.

we found that if you have a large history of searches, (say 500 or so), then updating and saving that history was taking several seconds every time you searched. So we've reduced the history to just the last 10. It's WAY faster now.

We fixed a formatting issue with Old Testament poetry in some Bibles. So now they display more like poetry. We added a "Random Chapter" button to the Home Screen.

Fixed a few little bugs, and updated the help for reading Japanese and Chinese.
