1. 3/5You can’t have it all! (turned on… yet?) Also, about the privacy defense

   Apparently on iPhone 16 at least, you cannot have Norton safe web turned on and use the auto connect features for the VPN. Even though I have my home Wi-Fi excluded from automatically turning on VPN when connecting to Wi-Fi, it continues to connect every few seconds, even if I turn it off. It turns on even if it’s turned off in the Norton app. After two support sessions the solution was to turn off Norton safe web completely. So we have two options. Remember to manually connect to VPN went on Wi-Fi is away from home., Or turn off Norton safe Web. We can’t have it all, yet. For context, I had this issue or a similar issue on the older Norton app and on the older iPhone. This is a new iPhone 16 Pro. I have followed all the instructions and I’ve cleared all the VPN profiles to delete the app and reinstalled. I’ve also tried the airplane mode trick. And a few other suggested. as far as them removing data from the personal data brokers, it’s impossible. I’ve used Norton LifeLock 360, Experian And others. After a while, it seems they just give up. The personal data continues to pop back up on the same sites. I would think they would realize this and change their claims and not charge for something like this. Because it obviously does not work. Even if one site gets shut down, the people who run those sites can spin up an unlimited number of new data broker sites.

2. 2/5Didn’t find or remove malware on my devices

   I’ve had Norton 360 for years. I recently bought a new laptop and installed the program. I did several scans after I installed the program and Norton assured me It didn’t detect any malware. I kept getting redirected on the internet and finally took the new laptop in to my local tech shop. They found malware and bogus certificates on the computer that Norton said was fine. While my computer was in the shop, Norton charged me for my annual renewal. I was unable to cancel because I wasn’t using the internet. When I was finally able to call about the issue, I asked why their program didn’t find the malware and phony Microsoft certificates. The tech person said that you need to call them so they can help you set it up on a new laptop for the first time. They should include this information when you purchase the program but don’t. I asked for a refund since I’ve had to pay hundreds of dollars to get malware removed from my devices Norton was “protecting.” I’m still using it on some of my devices since they wouldn't give me a refund but I no longer trust Norton to detect anything since it completely failed to protect my laptop and home WiFi from malware and phony certificates.

3. 1/5All of my passwords were breached once I downloaded this app

   It is impossible to find a way to chat with customer service for this app! And so many fake numbers are listed in a simple Google search, it makes me hesitant to call and fall victim to even more of hack than I have been noticing since I downloaded this app. My passwords keep saying they have been breached for the password passkeys app on iPhone. And some say they detect funny business while I’m trying to change them. This was never a problem until I downloaded and paid a lot of money for this app. The Identity Verification on the app stopped working after a couple of weeks and does not let my confirm my identity and sends me to a support link that does not provide support. Their customer service navigation just takes me to nonsense that does not related to direct contact with a customer service representative to assist me with my questions and security problems. Come to find out, they want you to pay even more money to be able to contact customer support! Please save yourself and do not download this app and use their services. Your data will be breached and your phone will start acting up just a couple of weeks after using it. The first couple of weeks I thought it was working until I noticed my lack of accessing the services I pay for and the continuous breached data as reported by my passwords in settings. I remembered Norton being the go to antivirus software protector and thought they could be trusted. I repeat, do not download this business here. You will regret it a month after you have paid for a year of service.

4. 1/5I was. Lifetime Norton Fan!(Or So I Thought)

   I started out with avast antivirus for a few years and was happy with it to an extent until I found out they had completely scam to my mother out of hundreds of dollars for a very basic service. Then, after the pandemic started their customer service was no longer accessible by human to human contact. I can kind empathize in that respect, but taking advantage of my poor old mother was the last straw, unacceptable, and probably illegal as it is abuse of the elderly. So next I tried Norton LifeLock, Norton regular antivirus, etc. At firstSeemed like it was doing its job and protecting my computer against Viruses (Shocker, this is what it should be doing).Next thing that happened and, again, was that the employees were trying to make my mother spent more money than she needed to buy up selling her products that she didn’t need but didn’t know she didn’t need them. Now I get that people try to upsell products, but there is a fine line between up selling a product and doing something more legal which is taking advantage of the elderly (look it up). So after all this nonsense, I canceled Avast and Norton and went with BitDefender, which so far, has had no issues, great support, and all inclusive programs that I’ve discovered so far.I think these crazy people who invent antiviruses should stick to what they’re good at, buying weird animal sanctuaries in foreign countries.... unstable ones at that, and selling drugs (allegedly). Please keep the antivirus work for the professionals

5. 1/530 year customer... Debating on 31

   What happened to this company? Norton was by far the best security program you could buy. Over the past year(plus), its been hit or miss on a variety of issues. Your customer service USE to be a platform for all business to emulate.... not anymore! The last time I contacted your customer service department for help, your representative (by the tone of his voice) made me feel that I was bothering him with such frivolous issues. He asked if he could remotely enter my computer for his assessment to my issue, I agreed. Once he became connected, he asked if he could take control, again I agreed. As I watched what he was doing, I asked him to please let me know why he was doing the things he was doing. He never gave me an answer, other than, to just let him do what he needed to do. EXCUSE ME? Being that this is my computer, I have the right to know why he was deleting the items he was deleting. At that point he disconnected. So I called back, and after 30 minutes of waiting on hold again, I was connected to a representative that I could barely understand. There was such a language barrier that after a few minutes, he disconnected. And as to date, your customer service department has yet to help me in any capacity. So again I ask, “WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS COMPANY?” When it comes to taking a payment from your customers, there is never a problem. That part of your system works 100% of the time. Perhaps who ever wrote that part of your system, should be employed to assist your other programmers in making your promised features and updates work.
