4/5This one is a winner!
I rolled the dice on this app after experiencing endless frustration with some of the other popular walk-up music apps for iOS. I gotta say, Next Batter Up is already a massive upgrade over the horribly outdated UIs and atrocious customer experience of the more established apps. The developer seems to be really engaged with his customers and the frequent cadence of updates gives me confidence that he’s committed to ongoing bug fixes and feature enhancements. I’ve encountered some bugs that I’ll be passing along, but I look forward to making Next Batter Up a core part of our team’s gameday experience.

5/5Great App and Great Customer Service
I was having some issues while setting up my team. I emailed support and received a response almost immediately. The issue was determined to be an app issue and they worked with me as they resolved it. Keeping me informed along the way. The creator was very apologetic for my issues and went above and beyond to rectify the situation. In less than 24 they pushed out two updates to correct the issue and I was able to complete my team with name announcements. Look no further for a great app for walkup songs and amazing customer service. It’s super easy to use and you can create multiple teams and copy players between them. It’s easy to reorder your lineup and bench players who aren’t playing. It’s easy to switch between players as well. Thank you for a great app and customer service. I will surely recommend the app to others.

1/5Bluetooth playback is buggy
**UPDATE3** Brought the rating back down to 1 star since the latest updates seem to have broken it again. The developer keeps blaming the Bluetooth speakers but I’ve tried plenty of high quality speakers ($400+) and they all have the same issue. The first player will play fine but subsequent player walk up songs will not output any sound. Other apps handle this fine so it’s not a speaker or Bluetooth issue but instead an issue with this app. As it stands, I have to force close the app after playing one walk up song in order to then open the app back up and play the next song. Extremely frustrating. **UPDATE2** Updated my review to five stars after developer responded to the issues raised in my review and fixed the Bluetooth bug. This is now officially the best baseball DJ app in the App Store (and I have them all). I commend the developer for his responsiveness and willingness to accept constructive criticism and make his app better. **END UPDATE2** *UPDATE* While I appreciate the developers detailed response to my review and understand the limitations with the Bluetooth protocol, there are two other competing apps that don’t have this same issue. I tried them and they work just fine so they must be doing something to get around the Bluetooth limitations the developer mentioned. While this app is the best of the three apps I’ve tried in terms of UI and features, the fact that it can consistently play over Bluetooth with speakers that the other two competing apps have no problems with means that this app is unusable for me. I recommend that the developer research what the competition is doing and implement a fix. *END UPDATE* Regular playback works fine. However, Bluetooth playback is very buggy and will not play back the names and only unmute halfway through the song. Other times it will not play back half a second of intro. All the other baseball DJ apps work fine so it’s definitely an issue with this app.

5/5Great app, easy to use, quick support
We began using this app after a tough tournament for our 10u softball team. It immediately boosted morale and turned our season around. The kids and parents all love it and other teams’ coaches have asked us about it. This app helps bring some additional FUN to the game for the kids. The app is easy to use if you have basic tech knowledge. The support provided is fantastic. I actually inadvertently found a big and the support team for the app credited my Apple wallet account for helping them improve the app. They also had the bug fixed within an hour or two after I used their text support line - fantastic! Highly recommend!

5/5A life changer!
I’m a grown human and I actually giggled with delight putting together my teams playlist and each song clip! It was pretty easy. Gone are my days of cumbersome Apple Music playlists and searching for the exact moment in the song that the kids want to walk up to the plate with, I miss every batter and the bash running queuing up the next song. So annoying. This app is genius! I cannot believe I didn’t find this sooner after years of fat fingering the wrong song or moment. Whoever made this must really like for kids to have a good experience and they had mercy on the coaches. Thanks!

Crowd Fillers - BRAND NEW and RIDICULOUSLY FUN! Drop a Crowd Filler anywhere in your lineup and let the magic happen. Roll out a full-team introduction, pump music between innings, or unleash a goat scream and cowbell mash-up the next time someone steals a base or fouls the ball into the parking lot. If you can picture the moment, you can now create the Crowd Filler in Next Batter Up! Longer recordings, bigger moments: Audio Recording clip length jumps from 120 seconds to 300 seconds. Five full minutes for epic intros, rain-delay sing-alongs, or that inspirational speech you’ve been saving since tee-ball. Roomier AI scripts: AI Introductions now accept more characters, and Crowd Fillers get an even larger allowance, so every announcement can be as bold (or bizarre) as you like.

Now you can trim your announcement files right inside NBU (and again, no in-app purchases, this is just a freeeee extra, winky face). The whole trim screen got a glow-up too: bigger waveform, pinch to zoom, scrub by half-seconds, loop the selection while you nail the edit. Now you have way more control when cloning a team or a player. Got a travel team made up of half your regular squad? Clone the team, deselect the kids who aren't going, rename it, swap the team photo if you want, and WA-LA, head start baby! Same deal for cloning a player to another team: their intro audio and walk-up song come along for the ride. Now explicit songs on the player card playlist get that magical little "E" symbol, so you know which ones might be inappropriate (because the parents are here, ya know). We all live in dark mode, I know. But this update also fixes some light mode hiccups where titles looked missing when really they were just colored wrong. Sometimes you're popular, you forget to flip on Do Not Disturb, and a phone call or notification cancels the introduction of your ball-players. No other apps handle this, so we figured we'd be the first. NBU now recovers from interruptions gracefully and keeps the show going. Sometimes you're not sure if you accepted Apple Music permissions, or if you're even subscribed to Apple Music. No worries, we got that handled too. Head into Settings to see your subscription status and whether NBU has the access it needs. Importing a team from a friend used to fail sometimes, and you'd retry until eventually it'd stick. Fixed. Finally. We're talkin' first-try success now. The song title on the player card was a little weird-lookin'. We un-weirded it. Yup, that was the fix. Remember those text-to-speech intros you set up like six months ago that mysteriously never played at game time? Turns out they were saved in a format the playback engine quietly hated. The first time you open this update, you'll see a quick "tuning up your walk-up tracks" screen while we convert them in the background. Now they actually play. Better late than never, right? Walk-up announcement longer than the song clip? The song ending used to chop the announcer off mid-sentence. Rude. Now the song waits its turn like a polite young man and lets the announcer finish their thought. Fixed a tiny gremlin where the music's fade-out would sneak in one last little volume surge right at the end, like it was trying to steal the spotlight from your announcer. The gremlin has been evicted. "Delete all data" used to be a single tap away from regret. Now we make you type the word "delete" to confirm, because we've all had that "wait, did I just..." moment. Now you can't, unless you really meant to.
