1. 5/5Lots of variety but sound is dubbed over poorly

   This is a great app if you like having the option to pick what kind of workout you want each day as there are so many offerings, but at least for the dance workouts, Pilates and yoga (these are the only ones I’ve tried as I don’t like to build my legs with squats, HIIT/boot camp type workouts etc), I find that the music selected for the workouts doesn’t match the dancing well as another user stated (which detracts from the experience), and for the Pilates and yoga the music selection just doesn’t go with the workout/seems too obviously dubbed over after the instructor taped the workout. I got a free subscription through my workplace so am willing to overlook these things but would hesitate on purchasing due to that fact. Otherwise I think the variety of instructors, types of workouts, and levels within the workouts is great. NEOU Please work on syncing the music up better, I think you would gain some subscribers that way!!

2. 2/5Bad Dance Timing!!!

   I am so frustrated!!! I paid for the six month subscription because they had so many “dance” centered work out videos. However, more than half of them don’t even go with the music!!! (Meaning the rhythm, and timing is all off). This is incredibly frustrating when you are trying to be motivated to work out and get your groove on. At first I thought (unfortunately) that their class leaders had no rhythm. However, after doing a little more research it seems that maybe they don’t have music rights (or lost music rights) to some of the class songs, and sloppily dubbed other songs over. I noticed this specifically in a JJ dance video where the teacher specifically taught a combo to the words of a Cardi B song (I got dollars, I got chains) and then something totally different played (while the teacher was saying the lyrics to the other song) and it did not even come close to matching the timing. I realize as a dance teacher myself, that music companies can be pretty difficult about music rights in public videos, but as a large fitness company, that I have to pay a subscription to, they should be more vigilant at making sure the quality of their videos are high, and not sloppily done with music dubbed over without even making sure the rhythms match. Still in my first week of the 14 day trial, and almost certain I will be cancelling my subscription.

3. 5/5Using NeoU in the Go

   Having the NeoU app to help me get my workouts in while on the go traveling, has helped me out so much. Watching the live stream videos has helped motivate me to get my workout in and makes me feel like I’m right there in the class. It works on your phone and your iPad. I tried to set it up on my laptop so I didn’t have to lean my phone against something but unfortunately it doesn’t work/open on your laptop. I highly recommend using this app because it has so many different workouts to choose from. Dance, Yoga, Abs, HIIT, and even Boxing. If I don’t have enough time in the day to get it in on my own, I know NeoU has my back to at least get a solid 30-45 minute sexy sweat sesh in!! Must try it out!

4. 1/5New Update

   The new update is overload on all of my devices. I constantly get an alert on my Mac saying “this website is using significant memory. Closing it may improve responsiveness of your Mac”. Therefore, it drains my battery and my computer starts overheating, which doesn’t happen with any other website. I tried using a lower quality video playback with their settings control, and still had this issue. There used to be volume controls so I could lower/raise the volume and listen to my own music at the same time. This is now gone. I can no longer minimize/half screen the workout without completely stopping the workout. I can no longer log into the app on my phone OR iPad, I sat there waiting for a solid 5 minutes multiple times while the screen “loaded” indefinitely. The updated home page is aesthetically pleasing, but too much is going on and I think that’s why so much has gone wrong. I used to love this app, and recommended it to all my friends, and now I can barely stand to use it.

5. 2/5Good Content, Platform Needs Work

   As a group fitness enthusiast, it’s really hard for me to find at home workout that compares to being studio or gym. There is a wide variety of instructors and concepts on NeoU that I’ve been able to find classes that give me a good workout and don’t cause me to roll my eyes on being overly cheesy. However, I haven’t been able to really use the app in some time because with each new update, the app seems to get glitchier and glitchier. On my Firestick, the menu gets cut off and every time I try to do a basic search, I get kicked out of the app or the screen freezes. The last few times I attempted to stream through Chrome Cast, the video either takes a few minutes to load or just gives me the spinning wheel of death. When I’m short on time and trying to fit in a quick 20-30 minute workout, the last thing I want is to struggle for 10 minutes to figure out how to get a video to play.
