5/5Indian Classical & Light Music accompaniment re-imagined, done right, and done beautifully.
If you are someone who loves performing in concerts or listening to them, imagine that beautiful medley of musical accompaniment and the amazing players giving life to the vocals of the lead singer. This app brings the concert home to you, when you are in the mood to sing at home, say for example in your PJs in the heart of the pandemic! For learners and those with the “Naad” of Indian Classical Music, this app is a saving grace. Having been a user of iTabla Pro and iTanpura lite, this app does what the others in the realm fail to do, as what could be better than the entire repertoire of musical accompaniment in one app, with the sound quality that sounds as real as a person playing each instrument next to you? NaadSadhana’s precision tuner is its service to the Millennials and Gen Z that did not experience the gurukul method of teaching, with its constant guidance towards perfecting swar as it listens to you sing. What with its ability to record quality audio and video along with accompaniment, it caters well to today’s audience that is social media savvy. Overall, NaadSadhana is what every Naadyogi (student and performer of Indian Classical Music) needs to have in their musical toolkit. Highly recommend this app if you want a surreal experience of musical accompaniment!

5/5Amazing experience learning music with this app
As someone who casually sings western pop and recently started training in Hindustani classical music, this app has been an excellent tool in this transition. You can choose a raag/scale as a setting and sing any song to the tanpura and tabla (which are both amazing by the way, it feels like live accompaniments as it’s not loop recorded). I’ve been using this feature to make sure I’m hitting the notes correctly as I practice my scales. This aspect of the app has really made me reflect on how off my notes have been before using this tool and I’ve already seen a drastic improvement in my pitch! The real time feedback this app gives you while you sing is absolutely genius. I used to be intimidated by Hindustani music, but this app has given me the confidence that I can do this. It doesn’t hurt that it’s also really fun to practice with it as it feels like a game! For anyone who wants to be a better singer, I would highly recommend this app.

5/5It keeps getting better and better
I have been using NaadSadhana for last few years. Just downloaded the latest version. I can’t believe how much better this new version is. Not that I had any problems with the old version but this new version has amazingly better sounding Tanpura’s. it also has two tablas which improves in unimaginable way. It’s almost like you don’t miss tabla player in your practice. NaadSadhana also has several more instruments this time and playing lighter music with them is really enjoyable. Additionally, with new Dhrupad rhythms, like Chautaal and Dhamaar, one doesn’t even miss a Pakhawaj accompaniment anymore. Finally a slew of recording features have improved so much. One can achieve so much with the normal earphone Mike, as long as it is physically connected to the phone. Congratulations to the developer. continue to look forward to more features.

5/5In a class of its own!
As an amateur musician I am constantly on the lookout for computer-based tools/apps that can help with my daily practice. Recently I had the chance to try out the beta version of Naad Sadhana and I can honestly say I was floored -- a tabla app that actually listens and adapts to the singer in real time. There is simply nothing quite like this in any genre of music (that I am aware of). The popular tabla machines/apps are loop based with very limited variety and inadequate even for a beginning student. The closest, in terms of musical sophistication, is iRealPro for jazz which generates rhythm-section accompaniment that sounds authentic and aesthetically sound. However even that is oblivious to the singer -- it doesn't listen and adapt. When I heard about Naadsadhana I was frankly quite skeptical that such an app could exist. I was happy to be proved wrong! Over the course of one hour of stress testing, this Turing machine held its own. In fact it consistently made inspired choices like a highly skilled human tabla player would. It is clearly a labor of love, an inspired creation, both in its concept and in its execution, and so utterly unique that it is unfair to compare it to anything else. The app creator clearly cares deeply about musicianship and obsesses about getting the right tone and feel in every phrase. I think this will be the standard bearer for the next generation of music apps.

5/5Stellar App
As someone who has barely scratched the surface of what app can do, a few things are nevertheless strikingly apparent: 1 An immense amount of care, thought, and love are being channeled into this app’s ongoing development by a creator with immense knowledge, true artistic sense, and tremendous devotion to the ideal of accompaniment rivaling that of accomplished musicians, available anytime for one’s musical growth. To them: Thank you. 2 The sounds used, interface, range of harmonic and rhythmic options, and depth of Raag availability are clear, clear, and the latter provide for so much digging deep into creative possibilities I can wholeheartedly vouchsafe this app is worth every cent –and I’m not just talking about measurement of musical frequency here 😊 3 If you’re looking for cutting edge accompaniment for musical improvisation over a drone this app delivers in spades. Even those marginally familiar with the ins and outs of Indian classical will find so so much for their growth here. I am amazed and sense a musical renaissance through a new generation of musicians with access to such refined accompaniment twenty-four-seven from a young age... technology like this is part of the future, and make no mistake: NaadSadhana is an outstanding pioneer technology in the service of our creativity... bringing the broadest improvisational tradition the wings of individual freedom and carrying it thereby through our times to the future. Hats off to the creator of NaadSadhana– Your labor’s well appreciated and the love behind it’s shining 🙏
