  1. 5/5Excellent service. However…

No complaint about the healthcare service itself, which is wonderful - attentive, caring, thorough, and authoritative.. The institutional system, however, could be improved, in at least two specific respects: 1. Accessing Medical Records is much more complicated than it should be and needs software updating. I was warned by a nurse about this, but spent over an hour anyway, hoping to find a needed document, which I never did. 2. The Sleep Disorders Center needs to follow up with the patient with some interpretation of their test results, no matter who orders the testing. They did the test and they are the experts. I’m thinking that both the Center and our primary physician thought that the other would do this. We heard nothing from either of them about these results, and were not competent to interpret them ourselves. Lillie Shadle Neil Shadle

  2. 4/5Very Helpful in Many Ways

I resisted downloading and the My U of M Health portal for a long time, but I have found it to be very useful once I finally made the effort to start using it. I used to have to call or visit every different clinic that saw me to get test or lab results, but this service makes it easy to access that information all in one place. It seems all of my doctors and clinicians use this portal religiously, so it’s never a question that when I use it to communicate with them, I’ll have a reply in short order. The U of M health system is a massive (sometimes unwieldy) beast, and this portal makes it easy to navigate access to providers, information as to locations, test results, information, etc. I still prefer to call my clinic for prescriptions and appointments, but I HAVE found this portal to be a font of vital information, especially as far as test results, clinical visit summaries, and future scheduling is concerned. If you receive care from the U of M behemoth, I HIGHLY recommend that you sign up for the portal.

  3. 1/5Application needs further development

This application is not intuitive particularly when used online. It doesn’t communicate with other sources. It’s impossible to upload data from other places when you’ve gotten things done like, a colonoscopy. So it keeps reminding you of things you’ve already done so that’s useless. You should be able to turn off those features. It really seems like it’s behind the times. But they do always let you know when you owe the money! Even though your insurance company is covering it and no, I’m not paying until the insurance company has reviewed it. So that’s ridiculous. Needs work put somebody in the design and engineering that actually needs to use the product. Maybe that might help it improve. And don’t get me started on the duplicates of medicines that haven’t been removed from the system or can be removed by me from the system. But actually, there’s so many errors with this system, and not being intuitive that it would be best that “they” sat down with a bunch of users and have them go through and look at all the issues. Cause it’s not something that can be covered in a survey.

  4. 2/5The reason for this App is for ease of access

The idea of having a system that is supposed to be able to get things such as Released Medical Records after signing the release of information paperwork and having Specialists and Doctors without having a bunch of different offices to even get the records from 2015- CURRENTLY Is now 7 months incompetent to deal with a rare neurological disease that took 3 years of Spinal Tap procedures, CAT Scans, ELECTRICAL PINS DOWN SPINAL CORD TESTING, MRI, 3 Sural Nerve Biopsies from Mayo Clinic, and refusing the medication that took me from unable to work and supplementing income from poverty to part time work and able to NOT DEPENDENT ON STATE AID!! To these doctors at Henry Ford more than any of the others in EPIC system should be criminal behavior to take functional mobility impaired to functional backwards because of the ego of the head Dr Lawrence also bolsters “You can’t suit me for medical malpractice because I disagree with the treatment plan and refill medication from Kabafusion for different opinion”. It’s beyond cruel and beyond any person who is getting FEDERAL GRANT MONEY FOR A DISEASE HE DID NOT DIAGNOSE IN 2015 so feeling his God Complex and the Henry Ford System allowing this kind of behavior from a Specialist with only 43 reviews even after writing a book??? Maybe his family and peers did the reviews?? As one in the mental health professional career’s will say BEWARE THE HENRY FORD NEUROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT AT ANY AND ALL LEVELS NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU MUST SACRIFICE GO TO A DIFFERENT STATE IF NEED BE! CIDP is rare and painful not sure how they got into this app and system because UNLV, SCRIPS, and the rest had no problems getting access to medical records and never made a person go backwards or suffer! BEWARE!!!

  5. 5/5Laura Garcia, a member of my own healthcare team. My specialty is being the patient.

I absolutely love University of Michigan’s Patient portal App. I am able to see my upcoming appointments, lab results, review my last appointment’s Summary to remind myself of what the doctor said. But best of all for me, is that I can reach out to my provider and their staff if I have a question or information for them. Of course there are so many features, like requesting an appointment, virtual appointments, appointment reminders, reviewing my medications, a library in order to look up information about a procedure or disease, ability to contact pharmacy with any questions. I just feel through this app I am more of an informed partner with my health care team. If you have healthcare through the University of Michigan Hospital and their clinics, I think you will find that this free app is a game changer.
