1. 1/5Dyson VisNav 360 IS AWFUL

   There are major problems with this app, and in over two years, Dyson is refusing to update the app so it’s actually functional. The vacuum works okay if your house is completely rectangular, but if you have a diagonal island or a diagonal wall, forget about it. Every other competitor to Dyson will allow you to set a diagonal wall divider, but when I asked Dyson when and if they would be adding this feature, they told me that as a customer, I have zero right to know when OR IF they are going to make any changes to their app. So I’m stuck with a $1300 vacuum that can’t vacuum my house because our house has diagonal walls in addition to rectangular walls. And don’t even get me started on the fact that it doesn’t empty the bin. If I vacuum my living room, I have to empty the stupid thing three times. So why bother it with a robot vac if you constantly have to babysit it? And it also can’t run at night because it needs light. But the software is substandard, and Dyson has zero interest in fixing it because all they care about these days are hair dryers. If any company could’ve made the best robot vac on the planet, it was Dyson. But they choose not to, only releasing a miserable excuse for a robot.

2. 2/5Why am I using this app?

   The app itself is probably the best manufacturer-developed IoT control app I have used. I’ve never encountered a bug with the app, I don’t have to dig deeply to change a machine’s settings, there’s no popups or distracting elements, it’s reliable, and the hardware interaction is responsive. The new interface is also ostensibly an absolute improvement over the old one, so good job guys. The UI is great. The UX is not great. It’s deeply unfortunate how proprietary and underbaked the ecosystem is. No public API, no homekit integration, etc. There’s not even proprietary-friendly Shortcuts intents to at least support some non-naive automation. This was excusable maybe ten years ago when the app was released, but it’s definitely not in the age of Matter integrations being ubiquitous with modern-feeling ecosystems. Dyson should be the last company shipping software that invokes the same “Is this software being supported? Do they care?” anxiety that comes bundled a $15 network-connected camera. Sure, the app is good, but having to pull it up as much as I do is a weirdly regressive experience. It feels like being in 2026 and having a vehicle that requires a crank start. The starting handle might be pleasant to use, but that doesn’t fix the fact that you’re starting your car outside in the cold.

3. 5/5App is amazingly frustrating

   I was really excited to be able to link my air purifier to my phone and see how the air quality in the room was since my son has allergies and asthma. The app is unable to link. About halfway... it just stops. In another review you see someone mention this as well and it makes sense. The unit is dropping connection with the phone and trying to connect to the home network... but isn’t working. Apparently this isn’t a new issue and seems to have been on going for a couple weeks now. I may give it a couple days and see but as the frustration builds, my excitement about this fan and cost is diminishing. Probably going to return it in a few days if this isn’t resolved. On another note. I purchased mine at Costco and noticed that there were a bunch of units there that seemed to have been returned units because the tape had been removed or visibly torn. In fact... it took me awhile to find a box where it looked like it was never opened. It now makes sense as to why so many of these were brought back.

4. 1/5Temp control unavailable on app (UL 1278 compliance)

   Bought HP02 in Sept 2020 to combats the smokey LA wildfire air. We planned to put the unit in our 16 month old’s room and was excited to be able to control and monitor her room temp remotely. We loved the idea of being able to heat up her room in the winter without the need to heat up the whole house, and being able to do so via the app remotely and adjust the temp as needed. Upon Installing the app, we found that the temp control option is not available and only accessible via the remote due to compliance with UL 1278 (we reside in the US). My friends that have had the HP02 from 2019 all still have the temp control function available on their app. I am not sure if this is an updated feature restriction to new machines made in 2020 only. Very disappointed as we paid premium for the connectivity of the machine only to find one of the key function inaccessible. It’s too expensive of a machine to not have the temp adjustment function assessable on the app. Having to be in her room to adjust the temp via the remote will be a huge hassle and defeats the purpose of having the app. Looking to return the machine to find better air filter and heater options.

5. 5/5Burned up Dyson

   Receive my Dyson back in 2018 since then it was working fine , until two weeks ago , then all H broke loose , first I called my internet provider , was on the phone for a few hours then they said I needed a new modem . Three days went by Slow without internet service. Received the new modem real simple to hook up plug some wires in box then waited for it to boot up all the light did not light up , modem still not working, called my provider they tuned it up on their end it had Internet service at that time it took another two hours really frustrating but was still not able to connect to Dyson’s tower fan 🙈 Next I called Dyson , The fellow that finally answered had me delete the Dyson app then reinstall it now back to the fan push the on and off button till I seen the green light flashing it still wouldn’t connect , I told him that I seen an A on front of fan , he said O it should have a F there , For Filter then proceeded to ask me when’s the last time I change filters on it ,I told him it never prompt me for one has been an automatic most of it life , so the fellas said that could be your problem you need a new filter , so I told him to order me one 80 dollars . Received it with in a week , took the old one out installed a new one , then I thought it wood solve my problem but I’m still unable to get on the Internet with my Dyson fan anymore , Think it’s an issue with the Wi-Fi that’s in the Dyson tower fan . ( JUNK after three years ) Thanks kindly Dyson R G

   I cannot login, I always get the error message stating either password or code is wrong. I reset my password, copy and paste and then guess what? Same message!
