  1. 5/5A Must Have App for Cruisers, By a Cruiser…

As a solo circumnavigator living aboard a West Indies 38, I’ve tried several boat management apps over the years. Most of them either overcomplicate things or miss the mark on what actually matters when you’re cruising. MyBoatWorks is different. It was clearly built by someone who actually lives this life. The app focuses on the real, practical things you need: tracking maintenance, storing equipment and spares information, logging expenses, and keeping everything organized in one place without forcing unnecessary steps. What stands out most is how straightforward it is. It doesn’t require GPS coordinates just to log maintenance or engine hours (a frustration I’ve had with other apps). The expense tracking is genuinely useful for seeing annual costs and staying on top of your boat’s budget. Photos can be attached to entries, and the overall design feels clean and cruiser-friendly rather than overly corporate. I reached out to the developer Rob, with one suggestion about better handling of stowed parts and locations. Not only did he respond quickly, but he already had an update in review that adds exactly that feature, along with bulk import tools. That kind of responsiveness tells me this app is being built by someone who understands what cruisers actually need. For the price of a few cups of coffee, this is easily one of the most practical boat management tools I’ve used. Highly recommended for anyone who wants something simple, effective, and made by one of us.

  2. 5/5Peace of Mind

As someone who cruises for extended periods, I’ve found MyBoatWorks incredibly useful. Instead of wondering where a manual is stored, when something was last serviced, or whether we already have a spare part on board, everything is organized in one place and easy to find. The app is thoughtfully designed, easy to use, and has become part of how I prepare for trips and manage the boat while cruising. It’s reassuring to know that all of my boat’s information is available whenever I need it, whether at the dock or anchored in a remote cove. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend less time searching for information and more time enjoying their boat.

  3. 5/5Team work!

As an owner of a racing boat, I was excited to find this app! I have many crew members working on my boat in their spare time- contributing work in electrical, plumbing, rigging and mechanical projects. Having a place where they can all log in and see the boats’ equipment, needs, fixes, and future project ideas all in one place is a life saver and eliminates my phone buzzing with “what kind of alternator? Do we have acetone on board? Zincs? It is all in one place now. My boat. Lives there. Thanks MyBoatWorks!

  4. 5/5A sailors dream

We are relatively new to sailing and this app has been so helpful. It’s great to have all maintenance records and reminders in one user friendly app. Can’t recommend enough to sailors - new and old!

  5. 5/5Really impressed.

We are wrapping up a 2 year refit, and I wish I had this from day one. Like the other reviews say, you can tell a cruiser built this! Definitely recommend.

  • 1.1.0 · 22 Jul 2026

Version 1.1.0 adds powerful new ways to organize, import, and protect your boat data. • New Storage Locations and Stowed Items screens let you track what’s aboard and exactly where it’s stored. • Bulk Web Import lets you add equipment, spares, and maintenance logs from a desktop keyboard. Your data appears automatically the next time you open the app. • Export your boat data to a dated CSV file using the iOS share sheet. • Use the Starter Equipment Catalog to quickly add common marine equipment without starting from a blank screen. • Tasks now include completion dates and an undo option. • Dashboard improvements surface more upcoming and overdue maintenance, yearly expenses, quick actions, and recent activity. • Recovery email support helps you retrieve a lost access code. This release also includes a redesigned More screen, sailboat and powerboat-specific icons, accessibility improvements, cleaner sign-out messaging, form refinements, and numerous bug fixes.

  • 1.1.1 · 30 Jul 2026

Fixed an issue where the Water Tank management screen wasn't displaying correctly for adding and editing edit tanks. Standardized the category picker across the app — Equipment and Spares now use the same scroll wheel selector with a complete set of categories.
