MusicBox: Catalog and Organize

MusicBox now features a modernized UI that adopts the new design language, updated app icons, and intelligent features that help you throughout the app. FRESH DESIGN - Deeper separation between content and navigation controls, buttons that animate and shift shape as you move between different views, and playful navigation transitions for a polished user experience. Music lists now include a subtitle with relevant metadata, and the search bar has been relocated to the bottom for easier access. Modal sheets throughout the app have been redesigned to only take up the space they actually need, making them less likely to get in the way of other content you’re viewing. UPDATED APP ICONS - MusicBox now supports every icon appearance for customizing your Home Screen. TAG AND ICON SUGGESTIONS - On supported devices, you can now get AI-generated tag and icon ideas for your content.

• The details page now adapts to the artwork’s colors, making Liquid Glass controls stand out with gorgeous reflections and refractions. • iPad now offers a redesigned details page that makes full use of the available space. • Tinted widgets now display images in full color. • Tags are now easily accessible without scrolling when adding music via the share sheet. • The Notes text field is now larger on bigger phones, making better use of the available space.

• Ability to set a default list to open when launching the app. Go to Settings → General to configure. • Support for showing played items in the Artists, Record Labels, and Genres lists on the Start Screen/Sidebar. Tap the Edit button in the top-right to configure. • New Music Credits menu that lets you explore credits for supported items in MusicSmart and NowPlaying.

• Support for bookmarking Apple Music curators. • Smart Search now supports the * wildcard, allowing you to filter items that have notes. • Added a top-left navigation bar button to manage tags when adding items from the Share Sheet. • New Add With Search Shortcut action that asks for a search query, shows matching albums, and saves the one you choose. • The Find Music Shortcut action now lets you find items that don’t have a specific title, artist, URL, editorial notes, or notes. • The Add Music Shortcut action now lets you set tags to “Ask Each Time”, so you can choose the appropriate tags when adding.

• Ability to import albums from your Apple Music library. • Tag folders now display the total item count as a badge in the sidebar.

SHORTCUTS • Added a new “Get Music from Smart Search” action that returns all albums from a selected Smart Search. • Replaced the old “Get Tags” action with a new “Find Tag” action that lets you customize filtering and sorting options for more flexible tag searches. • Replaced the old “Add Tag” action with a more modern version that accepts both Tag and Music parameters. • Replaced the old “Remove Tag” action with a more modern version that accepts both Tag and Music parameters.

• Ability to replace an album with one of its other available versions on Apple Music. • Redesigned the music context menu for a more organized layout and complete set of actions. • Improved library album import by searching Apple Music as a fallback to ensure more reliable matching and metadata retrieval.

Fixed an issue where the app would crash on launch when iCloud had pending changes to sync.

• MusicBox now appears in more places in the iOS share sheet, making it easier to save music and links from other apps. • The Batch Edit view in Settings can now filter results by a specific tag.

• The notes editor is now much more capable for detailed notes: - It now fully utilizes the entire screen height for better content visibility. - Editing tools now appear directly above the keyboard for faster writing. - You can format text with Markdown and add links more easily. - New tool for quickly referencing tags and other music items. - Ability to preview your Markdown document and export it as a Markdown file. • Added an optional Quick Actions button to Music Details, letting you place your preferred action in the toolbar for faster access to rating, editing metadata, managing tags, sharing, or marking music as new/played. Configure in Settings → Music Details. • Music Details now shows a small rating badge next to the album or song title, making it easier to see your saved star rating at a glance. • Improved opening albums in a preferred streaming app: if an album isn’t available or can’t be opened on the selected service, MusicBox now offers other available platforms. • When adding with search, you’ll now see trending albums right away, making it easier to discover and add popular albums. • Ability to create a new tag directly while adding tags to a Tag Folder.

• Your MusicBox library is now reliably indexed in Spotlight, making it easier to find and access from anywhere. • Fixed adding items from AllMusic.

When adding an Apple Music playlist link, MusicBox now asks whether to save the playlist as a single item for later listening or import all of its tracks individually.

• You can now reorder sections on your start screen/sidebar. Tap the Edit button in the top-right to customize. • Search now starts in the list you’re viewing, making results more relevant right away, with an option to switch back to searching everywhere. The search filters have also been redesigned to be easier to scan and adjust. • Added the option to choose what happens when you tap an album or song in a Widget: view it in MusicBox or open it in the original music app.
