1. 3/5Great tool but Lord Jesus help these bugs

   This app is a great tool to get the band up to speed and ready to go ahead of rehearsal. It makes the actual rehearsal run much smoother and allows the praise team to practice the songs on the go. It’s allowed the praise team to get use to hearing a click track and guide and just helps the songs run smoother. BUT the bugs in this app are out of control. My singers will try and find out what key they are singing in and even when they switch the key, the audio won’t switch. Sometimes I’ll choose one song and it will play something completely different. Sometimes the app just won’t open at all because it keeps crashing over and over again. Many of my band members just opt to using rehearsal mix from the multitracks website because this app is just that buggy. I would love to invest more into this app and purchase more packages but right now it’s just not worth it. It’s a great tool when it works but when it don’t work it’s completely useless.

   ChartBuilder is a must-have tool for church musicians and worship teams. It’s super user-friendly and lets you customize and view chord charts in real time, making rehearsal and live performances way smoother. With an easy interface and access to a massive song library, any team—big or small—can elevate their practice and live sets. Every church should seriously consider adding this to their worship budget! Suggestion for Improvement: It would be incredibly helpful if ChartBuilder allowed users to edit arrangements directly within the app. The option to adjust chords when there are mistakes, or even create custom versions, would add massive value. This feature would not only solve minor issues but also let users create personalized arrangements to suit their team’s unique needs and styles. I believe this level of control could boost subscriptions and potentially increase earnings by up to 20%. Conclusion: ChartBuilder is an invaluable investment for any worship team. It’s practical, adaptable, and designed to elevate music performance in church. Multitracks, keep up the great work—and don’t forget those “thank you” gifts for feedback like this!

3. 4/5Many pros, a few cons

   As a music director this app is great. On Sundays this provides most of what you need. A lot of my issues are with the pre-Sunday process of setlist creation. There is not total parity with the MacOS application and the iOS application. No choice to add a click track on iOS, but you can add it on MacOS. But, whatever custom name you give it will not show up on iOS. This results in me jumping between devices just to make a coherent setlist. This is one example of tiny features that need to be more consistent so the workflow is manage-able. Outside of setlist creation, the app will yell at you if you take a screenshot. This is of course to protect the IP of the artists they're merely licensing the songs from. That's understandable, but iOS apps have developed a system to blank the screen when screenshots are taken. For the UX, blasting the user with a warning that their account will be disabled when taking a screenshot is excessive. Developers need to implement the screenshot blanking feature that will circumvent the problem entirely. Again, a lot of these things are really just minor issues, but it adds up when you're consistently working with the app. For as much as it does wrong, it does twice as much right. It is the most robust app for such a niche use but it could use better feature parity and better UX overall.

4. 2/5Poor performance and constantly buggy

   Good bones, nice ideas, but this app is constantly buggy which makes it completely unreliable for consistent use. It takes minutes or hours to sync changes when made, sometimes even delaying for days. It means I wait until a few days have passed after a leader makes a setlist final before writing my notes, because otherwise your notes may be deleted if the song version changes. The handwriting support is poor, not smooth at all, making it hard to read. It’s buggy, laggy handwriting means you’ll be writing a note and it will turn into gibberish because you went too fast, or it will jump ahead when writing a note and listening at the same time, meaning you constantly need to pause songs to write notes. You can’t move the vertical scrolling screen with a finger when taking notes with Apple Pencil, you are required to use the play scrubber at the bottom. Would be a simple fix to have a setting to turn off finger writing input and only use pencil. The pause play button is way off to the side edge of the screen, and the hitbox is extremely small, meaning misses are easy to make, and music will keep playing when you need it to stop. And the library takes a very long time to load (sometimes literally minutes) each time when selecting a playlist, so good luck if you need to load one urgently. Also, don’t let your screen fall asleep if you are connected to a host and want to maintain the connection. It will drop (like during a sermon) meaning when you go back on stage, you must reestablish the connection, which can take minutes of fiddling around, which live settings don’t allow for. Using this app is a risk, and one that will bite you 1/10 times you use it, even if you know all the tricks to avoiding its shortcomings. Have a backup if the set is important.

5. 2/5Absolutely awful annotations feature

   Annotations feature is the most buggy and clunky thing I’ve ever used in an app. The app is great for isolating parts during practice in the week for Sundays and on Sunday it’s great to have if you are an instrumentalist (other than the drummer, I’ll get there) who needs a chord chart. The synchronization feature for Sundays is great. When making annotations on song charts, the app makes it so you can’t put them anywhere but on the lyrics and with the limited space to annotate and awful navigation which will skip and think you want to add a note in annotation mode if you try scrolling, it really becomes an awful experience. This means if you are a drummer like me who wants to input transition notes into a song map or lyric rundown, you’re gonna have a bad time. Then when you get to Sunday service, many time annotations don’t load at all, meaning any important notes you had to remember are privy to being forgotten and manually switching to showing the annotations mid service is not a viable alternative many times. The app during personal practice has many and countless unintuitive interactions as well (it took me 2 hours of using it with just an original mix instead of what I wanted which was the part isolation that I had to pull up the card while playing the song to get the options you see for playback in the screenshots on the App Store listing for example… I’m a very tech versed guy as an app developer myself so I know how to use apps). App is good when it works, but most times doesn’t. This 100% needs way more work before I’d be comfortable using this in a Sunday service, luckily I’m a drummer and can make my part up if annotations I wrote don’t show up but other instrumentalists at my church have to use this and it was a clunky transition process to configure and took way to much digging to figure out how to actually use the app due to its unintuitive and awful UI/UX.
