1. 5/5Best Privacy Oriented VPN Priced at Incredibly Fair Rates.

   I’ve been using Mullvad for over 6 months on all my devices and I can say hands down this is the best VPN on the market. First of all it’s price of 5 Euros a month with NO SUBSCRIPTION is amazing. So many larger VPN providers like NordVPN and ExpressVPN try to lure you into “discounted” annual subscriptions which automatically renew after 1 year. These companies bet on a snall percentage of their customers forgetting about their subscription a year down the road and then these companies can rake in another annual subscription fee at the regular price. Mullvad isn’t a subscription service and even on the App Store when you buy a month of Mullvad it won’t auto renew even though Apple technically treats it as a subscription. Secondly Mullvad is privacy oriented and on the desktop version you have the option to pay for your subscription with cash or cryptocurrency. They also have an Onion site for Tor Users and they don’t take your email when you register. Instead they assign you a unique 16 digit address that you use instead of an email. The only data Mullvad had from you is your ip address and your payment method(which they give you the option to pay with untraceable methods such as Monero or cash by check) Finally, like almost every other major VPN provider they claim to have a no log policy but considering the extra steps they have taken to provide users with more anonymity I actually believe them. Overall this is a great VPN and I think it’s worth the 5 Euros a month. I haven’t had any problems and I plan to continue using Mullvad forever.

2. 5/5No gimmicks fast reliable VPN

   Mullvad is a no nonsense VPN. No pricing or extras gimmicks. It is fast and barely impacts my battery life which is the reason I switched from another provider. Love the idea of a flat monthly fee without long-term commitments. Choose your location and let Mullvad do the rest. You can experiment with the server choices for a given location to find the optimal speed. At home I have not noticed a meaningful drop in speed, but if I quantify it it is about 10% when comparing best speed without it and best with it which is excellent for a VPN. Don’t use it for streaming movies so can’t speak to this function. Mainly want an extra layer of security especially when joining a public Wifi or minimize being tracked to bombard me with ads based on my online activity. Looking forward to seeing how it performs if I get to travel overseas once the pandemic eases. The app does the job, but please make it fun! Have that mole tunnel through a map ;) When I cut the umbilical cord from FB and all Google products perhaps I’ll be free :)

3. 5/5Prioritizes Privacy

   Mullvad is not the fastest VPN, nor will is allow you to bypass most geoblocking of streaming services. What it will do is keep virtually no information about you. The only information Mullvad itself has about you is the account number and Apple can associate that number with your AppleID. However, if you want to go hardcore, you can send Mullvad money via the postal service to annoymously keep that account number funded. Old fashioned, untraceable cash money. They also keep no logs and practically all data is keep in RAM on their servers. They’ve been audited by a third party and have been subpoenaed by the Swedist government. The government came up empty handed because the company had nothing to turn over. This is the app you want to use if you value privacy above all else. Turn on all their advanced features and put your iPhone in lockdown mode and you are well on your way to be immune to all but determined nation state hackers. That said, if you want a balance of privacy, speed, and the ability to stream from other countries, ProtonVPN is a better bet for that. Neither is particularly expensive and there’s an advantages to having multiple options when traveling. On the gripping hand, things are getting dark in the world.

4. 5/5Been waiting for this - pleased with app!

   I’ve been waiting for this app for quite some time. I had been using Passepartout prior to this. While this is an incredible start, I’m not quite ready to switch over fully to this app just yet. I would like to offer a few feature requests. Because I used Passepartout prior to this, most of my suggestions will be based off of the functionality and features of that app. •Integration with Siri Shortcuts. So I can ask Siri to connect to the London VPN server for example or disconnect from the Florida server. •Ability to favorite or adjust the listed order of servers offered. It’s great there are so many server offerings, but scrolling to the very bottom to select US gets old. •Advanced settings such as -keep connection alive on sleep -enable or disable IPv6 -choose between UDP and TCP -ability to view a debug log if desired •More robust Account management settings from within the app. •App icon changes colors based on connection status. (Because most newer iPhones don’t show the VPN icon in the status bar at quick glance.) Please don’t be discouraged by the feedback; I love this app. I want to see it become an even more awesome app. Thank you Mullvad Team!

5. 3/5Constantly dropping in and out, could be Apple

   I recently got an iPhone 14 Pro Max and I had been a user of PIA and Proton. However, I added Mullvad shortly before getting the 14 Pro Max and generally liked using it. However, the latest phone seems to break the connection of the VPN hundreds of times per day. Any time anything Apple is used the connection drops out and resets. This makes using a vpn worthless. Apple has already gone too far by allowing their devices to circumvent VPNs for whatever they choose. But up until recently it was rare that any VPN would drop out. But now, Mullvad drops in and out the most. Today I stopped counting and it had to be well over 40 times. I stopped counting at 25 dropped connections and that was by 1pm. While writing this review it’s dropped out twice and reconnected. Maybe it’s just time to bail on Apple. They’re clearly becoming as intrusive as Google.
