2/5Not very user friendly…
I think that this app is a ploy by the folks at the Monroe Evening News to improve sales of their print edition! Because no self-respecting group of journalists would put this out “as is”. It’s clunky and not very user-friendly. The classifieds can’t even be accessed without several hoops, and then you’re still likely to get an error message. When you get the daily email with reasons to read the News, the advertisement at the top of the page is so huge, it looks like it’s a story, and not just an advertisement. Misleading placement can confuse readers; advertising should be placed elsewhere in the email.

I have had a great experience with this app. I like the different options for reading the paper: view as a web page or view the electronic version of the paper. Scroll through the pages or select a section to view. I have not had any issues in over a year, and I use this app almost every day.

2/5What’s wrong?
I like this app for its content, I typically check obituaries since I’m a native and it’s worth looking, for me. But the app continually shuts down after a few seconds of browsing. It’s a very consistent happening, and frustrating. Anyone there paying attention? Thank you.

I enjoy reading Monroe Evening News regularly. The latest update to the app has made the site significantly better. I can’t believe there could be a better local news source than this one out there.
