1/5Frustrating, buggy, feature poor, mess of an app
Longtime Mi smart band user (3,5,7,8). Excited to upgrade to the mi smart band 8, I was appalled to find I was stuck with Mi Fitness. First, the inexcusable, clicking anywhere in the app often results in being taken to run expected places. Sometime step or sleep data never loads or the page will indicate ‘Updated: Just now’ and display hours old data. And forget about importing Zepp Life data; mine never imported despite filling all the troubleshooting guides and being very patient. 4 years of activity data gone. Disappointing, frustrating, useless. Then there is the lack of third party integrations to things like Google fitness or my fitness pal or Runkeeper. Even the Apple Health and Apple Fitness integrations are unreliable. This feels like a first gen application, like Xiaomi doesn’t care about its US customers at all. Do better.

5/5Great App!
I have used this Mi Fitness for a few years (Using the Mi Band 7 and 9) now and it has been great. Better than Apple fitness? Yes. Does it have issues? Yes, but forgivable ones. I got this Mi fitness thinking it was just a dinky little fitness tracker app, and joking that the company was data mining and uploading my location to China. (I sure hope that’s not true.) Yet over time I got to lien it and see the full extent of the features it has to offer. Things I like: -Simple and easy to use and clean UI -Incredibly easy to set up and sync a new device -East to get used to using -Good GPS tracking -SO MANY WALLPAPERS (and good ones too if you look hard enough) -Really good explanations for the different features of the app and how the band tracks you (how the sensors work) Things I don’t: -Good translation in some parts all the way to areas that are still completely in Chinese, -Some wallpapers are in Chinese -Low minimum age limit (doesn’t apply to me, but I can’t recommend this app to people born after 2008) -Still don’t know about data mining 😬 Overall, still a great fitness app. I give it five stars because it exceeded my expectations. It’s faults are as to be expected. It’s free.

1/5Truly awful
Why move away from Zepp life?? I am regretting updating from the smartband 7 (Zepp life) to the smartband 9 (mi fitness). This thing tells me I burned 50 calories if I walk to the bathroom and back. It waaaaay overestimates calories to the point that it’s useless to even wear it. The app is abysmal. My vitality never updates, it has said I am at 0 the whole time I’ve had it even though I run 4x a week. PAI is still a card option even though it is also stuck at 0 and seemingly not supported anymore? No one on this dev team had any eye for design. Clicking into a card (sleep for example), your eye doesn’t know where to go and the info that you want to see the most (hours slept and sleep stages) is hidden at the bottom under the stupid “your sleep animal” panel. Also the data generally doesn’t update when you first open the app, I’ve had to close it and open it several times before it wants to update with the info from my watch (which is close by and on the same wifi network). Also also, when you send a feedback message about bugs, 1) the text box removes all spaces so your text lookslikethis; and 2) it takes like 5 minutes for the message to send successfully but there’s no message saying “message sent successfully” so I could just be throwing my feedback to the wind for all I know. I am shocked at how bad this app is. Please god let me work on the team I will make it 1000x better. Or better yet - just let us use Zepp life!! That was a fine app!!

3/5More features
I give these app and the Redmi 5 watch and all the watches a 3 because they are really cool but I feel like there are some things and stuff missing. Like for example a texting app? Can we get a testing app or maybe a feature to text back or reply to our notifications?? Like it gets a little annoying that I have to take my phone out to reply to something. Second, a calculator I am a scholar and I’m still in school so I need a calculator app to help me with my math and also homework. And also maybe letting the watches have their own SIM cards or data without needing a phone? Like that would be really cool because I have another watch that is worst than this one is many stuff but better because it has a calculator, texting app, and own SIM card slot.

5/5Mi Fitness Best App Ever!
I’ve been using the Mi Fitness app with my Xiaomi wearables for a while now, and overall I think it’s a really solid fitness companion that gets a lot of things right. It’s clear that the developers focused on giving users an easy-to-use, visually friendly experience — the interface feels clean, intuitive, and makes your activity stats easy to explore every day. One of the things I really like is how it tracks a bunch of different health metrics in one place — everything from steps, calories burned, and active minutes to heart rate and sleep patterns — all laid out in a way that’s engaging rather than overwhelming. You can also set personal goals, which makes staying active feel more motivating. The design of the app has also gotten better over time, with updates that reorganize key features into clear sections and help you find what you need fast. Things like daily activity summaries, workout history, and device settings are just a few taps away. Syncing your wearable with the Mi Fitness app is usually pretty smooth, and it shows all your data in meaningful ways. A lot of users say the basics just work, which is a big plus when all you want is reliable day-to-day tracking. Finally, it’s cool that Mi Fitness provides some helpful extras like goal-setting, notifications from your phone, and ways to connect with other platforms (like Strava or Google Fit — even if those sometimes take a moment to configure). In short: if you’re looking for a fitness app that’s straightforward, friendly, and covers all your daily health essentials, Mi Fitness does a great job. It might not be perfect in every corner, but for most people using Xiaomi bands or watches, it’s a very capable and enjoyable app. If you want, I can also tailor this review for a specific platform (like Google Play or the App Store) or for a particular device you’re using!
