  1. 4/5A solid choice

Personally, iMessage has always been a solid choice compared to other messaging apps like Messenger. Although they both have their pros and cons, one of the biggest pros of iMessage is that it has access to apps from the app store, making it more expansive and more customizable. I love how it also feels well polished and well designed. But it's not perfect, it's far from it. There are three features that come to my mind that iMessage has always lacked that would make it significantly better. 1, timed texts. Having the ability to send text messages natively by easily selecting the upcoming time desired would be so useful to me. 2, themes. I know this is all preference, but I like each conversation to feel a little different for each person, and through themes (even if it's just changing basic colors of message bubbles) would make a big difference. And 3, mass text options. The current options available are okay, but to add a switch to easily toggle between group (which sends an MMS reply to all recipients) and mass text (which sends an SMS reply to all recipients separately with individual replies) would be incredibly useful. Overall, the app is a very safe app, it works very well at what it does. With a few added features it could give the app a little more love and would significantly improve users' experiences.

  2. 5/5Amazing and Intuitive

This is probably my favorite messaging app on the iPhone. It’s really cool animations and speed make this, in my opinion, much better than WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. The UI in iMessages is very modern and clean giving you access to your favorite contacts with ease. After iOS 14 and 15, Apple has really turned around the experience and created a whole new world. The new photo carousel view is very satisfying to flick through and the mini apps built into iMessage give you quick access to sharing content with friends and family. The tight integration with iOS, your iPhone and Siri make this app even better. Using ‘Hey Siri’ to send messages with my AirPods make it super seamless just to send messages on the go without even pulling out your iPhone. Surprisingly, Siri is very accurate in transcribing what I say so I have no doubts about using this amazing feature. Furthermore, I love the way I can access my messages through Spotlight Search on my iPhone, iPads and Macs. Also, with iOS 15 the ‘Shared With You’ across Apple apps like Music and Safari make iMessage even more necessary for iPhone users. All in all, iMessage is definitely the best messaging app on the market, from its clean interface to its safe and secure messaging and integration throughout Apple products making it an essential and the only messaging app you’ll ever need.

  3. 4/518.2 update has some bugs with CarPlay

I love CarPlay and how it works with iMessage. But the recent iPhone update to 18.2 has some bugs with iMessage. (1). Sometimes after iMessage and Siri read an incoming message, and it asks if I want to reply, I say “yes” and nothing happens. After about 5 seconds, iMessage closes. (2). Previous versions when you want to speak a message and you identify your contact, Siri would say “what do you want to say” and I would see a spinning ball on my cars screen letting me know it is waiting for me to speak. Now, there is no spinning ball so I’m not sure iMessage is ready for me to speak. After 5 seconds, it closes down. Finally, this is not new but hoping the developers can adjust, but after hearing a message, it asks if you want to reply (and on the cars screen, it shows an icon with “reply” along with “done”. If you say “no” the screen icon for “done” quickly changes to “call”. So sometimes when you also reach over to your screen to hit the “done” icon, it has switched to “call” and all of sudden you are placing a call. Seems there should be much more time before the icon switches to “call” or just show it always as Another icon in addition to the “done”. Thanks

  4. 5/5I am scared when this happens..😭

So yeah, once me and my best friend were on a video call. She was screen sharing an app and then once she told me to play with her, I hopped on the other app and then it started lagging and cutting out her voice easily, but then this weird noise was playing and it was using my device speakers to make the noise I got really startled because I am really sensitive.. and I had to shut off my device and hang up the call to get rid of the noise and I had to shut down my whole entire device to stop the noise I was scared for the whole entire day, and I still hear the noise in my nightmares… no actually though- but when that happened, I was too scared to use this app unless if I text someone on it I only use Messenger Kids or Snapchat now.(I would not recommend Snapchat if you don’t like lagging in games or Roblox) and Messenger Kids has a strong app so you don’t lag when you’re you both are in an app, but sadly it doesn’t have screen share if you came here for a screen sharing and you both wanted to see what you guys were each doing, please don’t it’ll startle you to death with this weird noise, I would recommend messenger kids better, cause Snapchat lags and the reason why I gave it a five star it’s cause they could see this review in case you are sensitive to loud noises and my actual review on this would be 4.5/5 stars. and also, please fix this bug I beg you. and also I think there’s a ghost in my room cause one time when I shut off my iPad when the noise was playing, she said the camera turned to my closet and there wasn’t a face there….. and I actually saw proof that it did that…. If there wasn’t any thing there or if it just moved on its own cause it thought there was a face there please remove that it scares me and my best friend freaking a lot

  5. 5/5A very nice choice! Very Safe and fun!

Hi, My name is LynniceMarie! And I used iMessages for a while until my mom said, I couldn't use it anymore. A few months later, I was searching for a safe kids messaging app. I found Xooloo Messenger Kids. But, After 2 months, I decided to delete Xooloo Messenger Kids because Xooloo kept reporting my parents' account for no reason. Then, I found Messenger Kids, so I tried it. Then, in Messenger Kids, it said I had to Login a Facebook account. I told my Mom, she had to Login the Facebook account. Then, she said,'' I don’t need to have a Facebook account to do this.'' My Mom had an idea, she said I can use iMessages again, because we can't find a good enough messenger. Then I was so excited! The day it happened, My Mom was busy, figuring out the Apple ID and stuff to sign in iMessage for me and my little sister's iPad. Then we made it complete! Me and my sister were confused, we were figuring out how to message each other. Then, I tried putting in my sister's phone number and it worked. My sister tried putting in my email and it worked, we can text without anything bugging us. Plus, use iMessages, it's better and safe. My Mom & Dad use it to text each other.
