5/5The only app that has gotten me to actually meditate
All of the other "talking in your ear" meditation apps are nice and all, but Zenitizer (first off - great name!) has gotten me to concentrate by making me want engage with the beautiful interface first. Because it is easy to navigate, it is an inviting app. One where you can choose your sounds to meditate to. It has a quick guide on meditation that gives you some simple things to note while meditating, and then you are off...into a world of bliss. Manuel is a great developer, who really cares about the app, and is highly responsive. Thanks to Zenitizer I am meditating more now than ever. I start my day calm. Also, the watch app is great because you can quickly get into a 3 minute meditation if you like, and that is helpful when taking breaks throughout the day. Give this app a shot. The small annual subscription price is worth your health.

5/5Straightforward Meditation Timer Without the Dreck
This has good bells, all the customization and control you need, inexpensive, and—sorry its best quality is a negative—no repulsive swamp and clown show and bullying to get in and out. Open you’re there at the timer, done and you’re done. (I was an Insight Timer user for years, and it’s still a great timer (as far as I know), but marketing took over and to get to the timer is unpleasant and to get out is nauseating, and the intensity of the toxic messaging that your meditation only counts if you log it and your meditation’s purpose is to win ugly flashy kudos…well... not for me anymore.) I tried all the meditation timer apps I could find and Zenitizer is the only one that was good enough. Happy to be here.

5/5Finally! Specially-made for self-guided meditation.
This is a beautiful and well-thought out app that has helped out my self-guided mediation practice thrive. Instead of just having some background sounds, there are customizable prompts and timers within the main timer to return me to my focus or divide my time into different intentions. And because you can save your “routines” you can create the perfect ways to be mindful and access them quickly. The bells, gongs, chimes, and background sounds are lovely. Plus the stats and goals are helpful and incorporate into the Health app. I use this more than once every day.

4/5Best medication app
I’ve tried a lot of meditation apps over the years, but this one is the only app that truly stuck with me. I use it every single day, and it’s become one of the most calming parts of my routine. The design is simple, peaceful, and never overwhelming. What I love most is how customizable everything feels. The meditation sounds and gentle reminders create such a relaxing atmosphere without being distracting. It helps me slow down, refocus, and stay present throughout the day. Even just a short session leaves me feeling noticeably calmer and more centered. You can tell a lot of care went into making this app. It works smoothly, has no annoying interruptions, and genuinely helps build a consistent mindfulness habit. Easily one of the best wellness apps I’ve ever used.

5/5Amazing
This is the best meditation app I’ve ever used. I’ve been meditating daily for over a year, and during this time I’ve tried almost every meditation app out there. In the end, I honestly came to the conclusion that this one is the best. What really makes it special for me is the customizable Tibetan bowl sound. It’s absolutely amazing. That sound gently reminds you to step out of your thoughts and come back to the present moment. Sometimes I even use each bowl sound as a cue to set an intention — for example, focusing on my body with one sound and on my breath with the next.

Do you love customizing all the nitty-gritty details of your timer routines? Well, this update might be exciting for you, as it introduces the ability to set intervals and other bell durations with second precision as well as increase the start bell countdown to multiple minutes if you want. Here’s how you can switch between seconds and minutes in the timer config view: 1. Expand the relevant timer config section (e.g. “Interval Bells”) 2. Long-press the duration text (e.g. “5 Min”, “10 Sec”) 3. Choose “Minutes” or “Seconds” from the context menu (Pro Tip: this also works on your Apple Watch) Best wishes and happy meditating, Manuel

Just a small bugfix update addressing a rare background refresh issue on watchOS. Please help out Zenitizer with a rating or review on the App Store and consider telling your friends about it. Your help is much appreciated! Thanks for using my app and happy meditating! Manuel

In this update, I’ve enhanced the “nature” sound significantly. If this is already your favorite soundscape, I’m confident you’ll enjoy it even more now. If it wasn’t your cup of tea before, now would be a good time to give it another try ;) Thanks and Happy Meditating, Manuel

I've polished the auto stop timer feature in this update to make your meditation sessions end more peacefully. Now, all end bells will play completely and fade out smoothly, regardless of which sound you've chosen. A big thank you to everyone who reported that some bells were getting cut off before finishing! Your feedback helps make Zenitizer better for everyone. As always, I’d really appreciate a review and if you notice anything that could be improved or have ideas for new features, please reach out to [email protected] to get in touch with me directly :) Happy Meditating, Manuel

1.12.1
Just a minor update with under-the-hood architecture improvements. No exciting new features or notable changes in this update; sorry… That said, I am currently working on an update with additional sounds, so please let me know ([email protected]) if you have any specific soundscapes or bells on your wishlist ;) Happy Meditating, Manuel

This update fixes a crash on certain watchOS setups, I accidentally introduced in the last version. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you and for not catching this in my own testing! I narrowed down how to reproduce the crash and was able to verify the fix on my end, but please reach out to me at [email protected] if the problem persists for you after updating to Zenitizer 1.12.2 and, as always, never hesitate to get in touch if you have questions, problems or suggestions ;) Thanks to everyone who reached out to let me know about problem and sincere apologies again! The Sound Of Meditation: This update contains LOTS of new and improved interval bell sounds (including softer-sounding and wooden options) as well as five new soundscapes. Listen to early morning birdsong or evening cicadas while meditating or try one of the new white, pink or brown noise background sounds. I also fixed a glitch in the sound picker UI on watchOS that was affecting some users. I really hope the new sounds will bring you joy and enhance your meditation practice! At this point, I’d like to give a BIG THANKS to everyone who sent me suggestions for new sounds! I hope I was able to accommodate most of them and will keep adding more on an ongoing basis, so please keep the suggestions coming ;) Best wishes and happy meditating, Manuel

1.13.1
This update includes improved icons for some of the new soundscapes and a fix for a bug during onboarding in very specific configurations (to encounter this, you’d have to keep iCloud sync for Zenitizer enabled while iCloud Drive is turned off system-wide). Apologies to anyone affected by this! Best wishes and happy meditating, Manuel
-
1.13.2
The user experience of the sound picker menus has been significantly improved: Bells are now organized in groups and when you preview a sound it will no longer dismiss the menu, making it a lot easier to quickly try multiple sounds in a row and discover your new favorites :) With the big 1.13 update there are now so many sounds that it was time to revisit this to make sure it works well with a growing number of sounds. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on this - you’re helping me make the app better for everyone! Best wishes and happy meditating, Manuel PS: If you’re enjoying Zenitizer, it’d really help me if you leave a review on the App Store and tell other meditators about the app ;)

1.13.3
This update improves the user experience around in-app purchases. If you're already a Zenitizer+ subscriber, you shouldn't notice any difference but for those just getting started, it’ll hopefully make the overall experience even smoother. Best wishes and happy meditating, Manuel

Hey everyone! I'm happy to announce an update packed with exciting features to improve the meditation timer experience! 1. Volume Mixer: change the volume of background vs. bell sounds 2. Default background sound: pick (and quickly change) app-wide default soundscapes 3. Completely redesigned sound picker: quicker, more convenient, more accessible and prettier than the old menu :) You can save your favorite volume levels for the whole app as defaults or overwrite specific volume levels for each meditation timer routine. For example, you might want the bell sounds to be quieter in your evening routine but want them louder so you never miss them when you meditate throughout the day? Just set the default volume levels the way you like and override the volume settings for your evening meditation routine ;) The same applies for the new default background sounds: Maybe your favorite background sound is that cozy, crackling fireplace sound, but for your morning routine you always want some calming yet energizing birdsong to accompany your meditation? Simply override the background sound with birdsong for that specific routine! And when you later change the default background sound from fireplace to rain, the morning routine will still play birdsong. The new sound picker not only looks much nicer but it'll also make it a lot easier and quicker to preview and select background and bell sounds - No more navigating through multiple layers of nested menus ;) I'd like to thank everyone who sent me feedback and asked about the volume mixer feature as well as everyone who beta tested these changes and helped me get them ready for App Store release! I love hearing from you and if you ever have any suggestions, feedback or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out at [email protected] Thanks and Happy Meditating! Manuel

1.14.1
Just a small follow-up update with a couple UI improvements for the new features released in the previous version. Most importantly, the buttons in the main timer screen on watchOS were rearranged and some of the icons updated to make things more intuitive and consistent. Oh and there’s also a link to Zenitizer’s Bluesky profile in the Settings tab now. If you're active there and would like to learn about Zenitizer updates and related news ahead of time, that’s a great place to follow my work and show some support :) Happy meditating, Manuel

1.14.2
This update is entirely focused on under-the-hood optimizations and cleanup of “technical debt”. I want the Zenitizer codebase to be in good shape before WWDC, so I can focus on exciting new feature work over the summer :) There are no new features in this build and the app should pretty much work like it did before - and ideally run a little smoother ;) Best wishes and happy meditating, Manuel

Hey everyone! It’s that time of the year and Zenitizer’s whole user interface has been polished to make sure the app looks and feels right at home on the new operating systems. The icon also got a fresh coat of paint to fit with the new theme - I hope you like it :) If you use Zenitizer on watchOS, there is an exciting new system integration available now: You can add custom controls to your control center which immediately launch into one of your meditation routines with a single tap. Let me know how you like the new look and if you run into any problems or have any questions. The best way to reach me is emailing [email protected] Best wishes and happy meditating! Manuel

This update contains further improvements to the new app icon optimized for iOS 26. Especially the dark mode variant should blend in a lot better with the rest of the system now - thanks everyone for your feedback! Thank you for using Zenitizer! If you're enjoying the app, please tell your friends about it and consider leaving a positive rating or review on the App Store. It’s an easy way to make a big difference and I’d really appreciate it :) Happy Meditating! Manuel

This update introduces a “What’s New” screen that allows you to easily see when the app is updated with new features or fixes from right inside the app. I completely understand that most folks don't read App Store change logs , so new features can go completely unnoticed, especially when they are a little hidden... Although, if you’re reading this, you probably DO regularly read App Store change logs but still, I hope the feature might be worthwhile for you, too ;) I have a number of smaller and bigger updates in store over the coming weeks and months and some of those are in parts of the app where it's not immediately obvious, so I hope that this can establish an easy and frictionless communication channel to let you know about changes :) I thought long and hard about how to address this, because I also didn't want to show a sheet that covers the whole screen whenever there is an update since that would be very disruptive for your meditation practice. The compromise I ended up with is showing a little "sparkles" icon on top of the settings tab icon in the bottom right corner of the tab bar. My goal is for this to serve as an unobtrusive, visual indicator to let you know there is something new to discover. You can always ignore it and - if you want - check it out at a later date. If you want to learn more about the update and clear the indicator you can quickly present the "What's New" screen from the settings tab. Please let me know (email [email protected]) how this works for you and whether you find this distracting and would rather be able to turn this off completely. I'm definitely open for feedback here as I really don't want to get in the way of your meditation practice :) Thank you for using Zenitizer! If you're enjoying the app, please tell your friends about it and consider leaving a positive rating or review on the App Store. It’s an easy way to make a big difference and I’d really appreciate it :) Happy Meditating! Manuel

It’s an easy way to make a big difference and I’d really appreciate it :) Happy Meditating! Manuel

Hey, it's been a while, sorry about that. There was a lot of change going on in my life recently and I needed to find my rhythm again, but I'm back at it now and have some genuinely exciting features lined up. Thanks for sticking with me :) The main fix in this build is for a rare but important bug: some of you couldn't unlock Zenitizer+. If you were affected, thank you for wanting to support my work and sincere apologies you couldn't. It should now be back to normal. Special shoutout to Raphael for bringing this to my attention, you rock! :) I also fixed a broken social media profile link in the About section and took the chance to update some dependencies and modernize a number of things under the hood. These are mostly housekeeping-style changes, getting the app in good shape for the new features I've been working on, which will be shipping over the coming months. Thank you for using Zenitizer! If you're enjoying the app, please tell your friends about it and consider leaving a positive rating or review on the App Store. It's an easy way to make a big difference and I'd really appreciate it :) Happy Meditating! Manuel

*New Feature: Meditation History* Relive your meditation journey through the full history view. Edit, add or delete past sessions, change daily goals and repair your streaks with ease. Forgot to track that meditation last weekend and broke your streak? Or did you accidentally record a session you'd like to delete? With the new Meditation History feature, you can revisit any day to adjust your meditation records - or simply reflect on your growth along the way! To see your history, just tap the "calendar" icon on the Daily Goal tab ;) I hope you'll enjoy the new feature (and Zenitizer in general). If you do, please leave a quick rating or review and tell your friends about the app to support me on my journey building it :) Best wishes and Happy Meditating, Manuel

1.8.1
Hello again! Over the last couple months, I have been working hard to completely overhaul and redesign how Zenitizer stores and syncs your meditation data. Not only will this improve the app’s performance, it’ll also make synchronization more reliable and allow me to understand and fix bugs faster and quickly iterate on exciting new features in future updates! While this is one of the biggest updates I have ever shipped, most of the changes are “under the hood”, so there won’t be many visible changes (I have a bunch of those in store for the upcoming OS update - so stay tuned!). In this version, the two most visible changes are a new backup feature that allows you to quickly export your meditation history and routines and a number of UI and performance improvements for the session history view introduced in the last version. I would love to hear how this update is working for you, so don’t hesitate to reach out to [email protected]. Thanks for using Zenitizer and Happy Meditating! Manuel

1.9.4
A small update that adds semantic color to the inline Apple Watch complication (the one at the bottom of the “Utility” watch face). Based on whether you will break, keep or grow your streak, the symbol is now either gray or shown a dim or bright version of the Zenitizer accent color. This should make it easier to see at a glance whether you’ve met your daily goal - and hopefully will feel rewarding when you do ;) Best wishes and happy meditating! Manuel
