Under-the-hood improvements.

● New ∙ Added a new 768-step ultra-wide palette: “Bridge [UW].” This brings the total number of built-in palettes to 155, including 54 ultra-wides.

● New ∙ Palette library can now be filtered by All, Standard, Ultra-Wide, or Custom, making it easier to locate the palette you’re looking for. ∙ Added a new palette named“Cool,” bringing the total number of built-in palettes to 152. ■ Improvements ∙ UI tweaks. ∙ Creative Guide and User Guide updates.

■ Improvements ∙ You can now set the max iterations cap to use up to 75,000 iterations. Was previously 50,000. The default cap is now set to 50,000 iterations. Available cap settings are now: 5k/10k/15k/25k/50k/75k. ∙ Creative Guide and User Guide updates.

Under-the-hood improvements to address minor performance issues.

● New ∙ Added "DM" indicator to the Quality field in the HUD when Deep Mode Rendering is being used. ▲ Bug Fixes ∙ Restored "Deep Mode Rendering. Please wait." message that was inadvertently removed in the last update.

● New ∙ Added a beautiful new 768-step ultra-wide palette — Jade [UW]. ▲ Bug Fixes ∙ Fixed a bug that could (rarely) cause the rendering to stop due to the premature teardown of an in-flight semaphore.

● New ∙ Added item counters to both Manage ​Bookmarks and Manage ​Palettes so you can see totals at a glance. ∙ Added “DM” to the HUD quality line when the CPU deep-render path is engaged. ■ Improvements ∙ Improved bookmark management: when sorting by Newest, bookmarks now show their saved date instead of iteration count. ∙ Restored the “Deep ​Mode ​Rendering. ​Please wait.” message while deep rendering is in progress. ∙ Included additional UI polish, help/documentation updates, and internal rendering refinements.

■ Improvements ∙ Improved the import gradient feature to use the improved code already used in the advanced command line interface tool. Now you can import gradients from your photos, which are more precise and accurate, reliably from within the app. See the User Guide for more details. ▲ Bug Fixes ∙ Fixed an issue in import gradient, which would sometimes fail to import gradients.

Julia Sets Explore Julia Sets directly from the Mandelbrot Set. Single-tap any Mandelbrot point to generate the matching Julia Set from that exact complex value, then single-tap again in Julia mode to return to the exact Mandelbrot view where you started. This update also saves Julia constants in bookmarks and shared bookmark files, shows the active Julia `c` value in the HUD, improves Julia rendering at deeper zoom levels, and refines iPad controls with a cleaner utility row above the floating toolbar. Short version: - Tap any Mandelbrot point to create its matching Julia Set. - Tap again from Julia mode to return to the exact Mandelbrot view. - Julia bookmarks and shared bookmark files now preserve the source `c` value. - The HUD now shows the active Julia constant. - Julia deep-zoom rendering and iPad controls have been refined.

Version 2.2 makes exploration reversible and brings Mandelbrot Metal to more people worldwide. • New Exploration History with Back and Forward controls on iPhone and iPad. • Revisit complete creative states, including view, iterations, Mandelbrot/Julia mode, Julia constant, palette, contrast, 3D Look, and loaded-bookmark context. • Keep up to 50 recent states during the current app session. • Start a new direction after going Back, and the old Forward branch clears automatically. • Use Command-[ and Command-] with an external keyboard. • Now localized in Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. • Updated onboarding and interface refinements for the new navigation workflow. • Exploration History is temporary and session-scoped. Bookmarks remain the way to name, save, share, and permanently return to important scenes.

Version 2.2.2 expands Mandelbrot Metal with three new languages. • Added complete localization in Russian, Swedish, and Ukrainian. • The interface, onboarding, built-in Help, and Creative Guide are now available in all three languages. • App Store metadata and screenshots are also localized for the new languages. • Mandelbrot Metal now supports 16 languages in total. This release otherwise keeps the Version 2.2 experience unchanged.
