5/5Use it every day
I’m a woodworker and who’s made my share of fraction-related mistakes. More than I’d care to admit. And yes, I could switch to metric like some of my other woodworking friends, but I don’t want to. I use this app nearly every day. It’s well laid out, easy to see with my older eyes, and it does basic fractional math really well. I especially like the bar graph the app displays when a number is between your selected precision - you can quickly tell if, for example, the result is closer to 3/32” or 1/8”, and by how much. Really useful. Great, stable app.

5/5Finer granularity required - Update
With the exception of the round up, round down feature (which is fantastic) the calculator is comparable to the free calculators already out there. If the round up, round down, granularity could be changed from 1/ 16th, to a 32nd, or better yet a 64th I would buy it in a heartbeat. The ability to change granularity is present. I just didn’t look hard enough. The rounding feature puts this product head and shoulders above others.

5/5Functional, effective and efficient
There are few apps that are truly worth using over and over again, this is one of them. It’s for the seasons carpenters and wood workers as much as it is for a DIY’er like myself. Measurements always make my brain hurt trying to figure out exactly where to make a cut. But this app takes the hard calculations and makes it easy to visualize so I don’t have to worry I am doing the math wrong. Worth it in every way.

5/5Great for Getting Started in the Game!
I’m definitely green when it comes to woodworking and craftsmanship of any kind. That being said this app was a life saver. I recently had a baby and wanted to build a crib as I couldn’t find one that wasn’t cheaply made or outrageously expensive. Maker Calc made the math extremely simple and made it so I didn’t have to do the tape measure math that racks my brain 😅 totally recommend to any fellow craftsmen/women out there!

5/5I May Have Built this App…
But if I didn’t think it was five stars, then what’s even the point? Truly, I’ve searched high and low for a measurement calculator that meets my woodworking needs. I haven’t found it. Which is why I decided to build my own. If you’re reading this, thank you for the time and consideration to check out the app, it really means a lot. Give it a try and let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

1.0.2
Adding the setting and functionality for a traditional equals sign! The equals sign in the fraction layout will essentially clear out the current equation and then retain the result value to be used in any subsequent equation. I also added some subtle haptics to the calculator button taps to help it feel more tactile. Thanks for using Maker Calc, and please let me know what feedback you have to improve the app!
