4/5Amazing but it’s missing essentials
I love this app, and I use it all of the time to make songs and cover songs. though, there are some things that it needs to be better. first of all, there are a lack of instruments, especially when it comes to brass and synth. as a brass player myself, there are more brass instruments other than trumpet, trombone, french horn, and tuba. there is also the euphonium (my main instrument), the alto horn, flugelhorn, cimbasso, and others. about synth, i feel like there isn’t enough, despite the ones there. on another note, some instruments sound horrible and don’t fit into any song. take the didgeridoo for example. it sounds like an elephant burping as it’s vomiting… furthermore, WE NEED SWING RYTHEM. it’s so annoying because i cant make jazz music without making every single tied 8th note a quarter and an 8th in a triplet. please, add swing rhythm. also, please revert the change you made to where songs that are put into the “completed” section aren’t able to be edited until you unlock them. or at least, make another file where you can put songs that you actually want to work on, but don’t get lost in the sea of the MY_MUSIC###s that is the “working” section. it would make organizing so much easier. and don’t talk to me about changing the file name of a song, because you can only put one single song into a file and it’s so annoying.

5/5Amazing, with a few problems.
I have used it for a good bit of time now, and it’s the best one I found. I have now started to write a few pieces on it, and it definitely deserves to be one of the most well-known music-writing apps, because it certainly is one of the best. Sadly, I encountered a few problems, like when an instrument goes high, it doesn’t make room for it, it just blends it in with the line above, or how it doesn’t have an option for notation like ‘expressivo’ or other important musical notation. Also, the only grace notes I found were ones that add the note right below it, but I haven’t looked that hard, or in a while. There’s a weird glitch that makes it so I can’t have a starting dynamic and then a crescendo or decrescendo on a whole note, it always gets rid of the first one I add when I add in the second one(If I put in the dynamic, then a crescendo or decrescendo, the dynamic disappears, and when I put in a crescendo or decrescendo and then go in to put in a dynamic, the crescendo/decrescendo disappears). The dynamics don’t work in the play through, so I can’t hear the melody over the accompaniment. I also don’t have access to my password in any way, so I can’t sign in on any other devices, so I’m stuck on my phone. These may seem like a lot, but all but the last two are pretty small issues (and minor annoyances), and all are easily fixable. I definitely recommend Maestro, and those other apps should take some notes.

5/5Super easy and helpful, but…
First of all, love the app, amazing layout that is easy to learn and use. If I can’t figure something out, the help screen aids me 90% of the time. Now to my complaint/suggestions. First of all, please add a way to make the rhythm a ‘swing’ rhythm. Where two eighth notes equal a quarter note and an eighth note. I suggest this because of jazz pieces that I’m sure others like me want to create. It would be so much better than struggling to create a scratch jazz rhythm with too many tied sixteenth notes to count. The other suggestion I have is to have some instruments put into their key. For example, I play French Horn and it’s annoying making sheet music when the notes are not in F, the key French Horn is in. Having them in their keys to begin with, or just adding an option to do so would be super convenient. Sorry if I said something musically incorrect, or named a feature that is already implemented and I’m just too dumb to find it. I still love this app and I hope these improvements could be integrated someday.

3/5What happened in 2025?
I used to use this app all the time up to about early 2024, and then it would’ve been a 5/5 stars, when I stopped for a little bit. I came back very recently to find that I could not download my compositions as MIDI files and that the Concert Hall tab was broken (whenever you click on a song, it just appears as untitled and has no music in it). I did some digging and apparently there are some weird restructuring updates. I’ve also realized that they have removed the original soundfonts and the option to change soundfonts, which I liked better overall compared to the new sounds. I’ve also noticed more ads, which was very annoying when I was trying to navigate the cloud and my files to find out what the MIDI strangeness was. Why did you remove the ability to download files as MIDI and the Concert Hall tab (which I used to access files on different devices and to see others’ music). It seems that Future Sculptor is just removing features at this point. If the developers see this, I would like a response explaining the MIDI sotuation an how I could download my files in that format.

4/5Great
This is a very versatile tool, it’s great for writing music, even on mobile! I just wish that on mobile there was an auto flip screen—so that we didn’t have to manually flip the screen— and that the help menu was a lot more informative, like for example: I was trying to play a certain part, I go to the help menu and see what it says, all it shows is the buttons highlighted, and of course my first thought is to tap it once or twice, and obviously that doesn’t work because that’s not how the function works. Instead it took me 2-3 minutes (I know) to figure out that you had to tap it and then tap where you want it to start/end.
