  1. 5/5Excellent App & Dev

First off, this app is fantastic. It has every site for Apple/Mac/iStuff you could possibly need/want, and you can choose which sites show up in the main feed. It is a literal plethora of news and information. If you’re an Apple nerd, you need this app. Second, the app itself works flawlessly. I have been using it on various devices for many, many years and almost never encounter any problems. Feeds refresh and update quickly and articles and sites load smoothly. In the *extremely* rare case an issue pops up, it is quickly addressed and back in working order at an impressive speed. Finally, the developer is first-rate. The app is well maintained and replies to user feedback are handled quickly, politely, and professionally - truly an example to his peers. The premium upgrade is worth every penny, not just to remove the ads, but to support a developer of this caliber. I highly recommend this app, and that you check out his other app, TechNewsTube, for all non-Apple-related tech news, as it is just as excellent and informative as MacHash.

  2. 3/5Great but UX is veeeeery bad and poor and add auto removed ads from websites

I hope you check all problems and solve the ux problems and scrolling fixing is very speedy and not smoothly and must improve ui to be the best and improve speed the app and browsing and i hope you care about auto adblocking from websites removed all ads now to many apps add this future and i hope you to, one of them the “Brave browser” app auto removing ads, and improve fast loading- Bringing technology news from Tech news app to machash app, only tech news (android, ios, windows, gaming) , so we can get tech news in just one app, not two. If you are working on these features I would like to purchase the premium option and give you 5 stars ⭐️ from you and would like to add new features to improve the app. Honestly, I liked the application, but it has some problems that I hope to solve so that the experience is better

  3. 3/5Nice app but could have better content control

A MacHash developer reached out about a previous post where I pointed out the horrific ads. He was accurate that the ads are not MacHash ads but instead ads from the content short I was looking at. He was right. On the home page for MacHash the ads are sensible and unobtrusive. But when I go into the content for certain providers is when I get the full screen, in your face, horrendous ads. So I’m changing the rating. I like MacHash, I have used it for some time. But if it is just going to aggregate the sites page then they should expose options to block ads or use the iOS built in ad blockers. If they gave you some control over these then I would raise it to 5 stars. Because of I view these sights in the browser I have that option and from the look of it they are just showing the sites page in their container.

  4. 3/5I want to Still like, but…

Jan 22nd. Reader mode still isn’t working properly. Turn it off in settings or many links won’t work. This app used to be bulletproof, I hope Ryan gets this fixed. Jan 17th. Latest update fixed the reader view issue. However, there use to be a toggle to switch off reader view. Now, if you choose to open in reader view via settings, there’s no way to easily switch to the regular web view. Sometimes pics or videos are left out of reader view and it was convenient to have a toggle to switch between both views. Why take an obviously helpful feature away with an updat? Jan 15th. Got an email from developer. He’s aware of the problem and had me turn off reader view mode. That worked, all links are now working. Also, he told me that a fix is in the works. Jan 12th. Still not working. This app has been so good for so long. I’m very disappointed. Some links work, too many do not. Jan 11th. Clicked on a link, got hard core porn. What’s happening? Really not liking this new update. Links aren’t working and features removed. I do not like the new update. No reader view without paying whereas before it was free? Lame. An additional navigation bar on the bottom. Poor design takes up too much space. And now EVERY link is not working. I hope this gets fixed pronto. I just got an email regarding my review below. Kudos to the developers for their quick fix and response. I’ve upped my rating to the normal 5 stars. With the latest iOS update (iOS 11.0.1) and my iPhone SE there are way too many freezes. The only fix is to quit the app and restart. When it happens again, repeat. I hope the developers remedy this issue.

  5. 5/5Worst tech news app ever

This app consistently does not open ANY of the articles featured. Whenever I click on something I’m interested in the screen either goes to a white screen that that says “loading” or just a white screen AND NOTHING HAPPENS! At first I just thought it was a temporary glitch but nothing has changed over several months. I have the Drippler app which works every time. Because I have an iPhone I would love to get specific apple news, but not from this apparently.

  • 6.3.1

Fixes an issue with Reader mode and the in app browser. This update will reset your preference for "Reader Mode" to off if you are using the in app browser. We introduced a change to reader mode in the last update which has caused some confusion. The in app browser uses a third party service for reader mode and the configuration was causing some loading errors and delays and it wasn't clear we made this change. You can turn it back on by going to Settings > Browser Prefs and then toggle the reader mode option. Restores subject line auto fill for sharing pages with the in app browser.
