I am not a skilled baker or cook however I do enjoy trying out new recipes. I purchased this app with reservations because I was skeptical of the conversion process since the recipes seem to be Scandinavian inspired. As a person who resides in the U.S. I would advise, as Manuela does to read the recipes entirely and convert grams to US measurements ahead of time. Additionally, I would prefer to have a simple list of ingredients. For instance, the carrot cake calls for 200 grams of almonds with skins, ground. I improvised with store bought ground almond flour however I’m not certain that I nailed the measurement. This is my only reservation.

5/5BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT!
DO NOT let the other Americans fool you! Manuela’s instructions are impeccable, precise, and easy to follow. I have never read more thorough instructions. I am an extremely experienced baker & I have never used recipes like Manuela’s. I am IN LOVE & wish every recipe I read was written & as informative as Manuela’s are. As an American I understand the frustration of having to use grams over volume, but as an avid baker I am painfully aware of how inconsistent imperial measurements are compared to grams. Also, as an American, I understand how stubborn, persistent and bullheaded other Americans can be when presented with facts. And the fact of the matter is that grams are superior to imperial measurements when it comes to baking. Period. I don’t understand all the whining I see in the reviews about converting measurements. Scales are not expensive nor are they difficult to use. Baking is about precision and Manuela’s recipes are that & so much more. If you can’t handle the heat get outta the kitchen.. or if you can’t use a scale, maybe try your hand at a cobbler or something.. idk. 🙄

I have had the Love, Manuela app for several months and I love it. I just purchased the 336 page Ganache Made Simple and cannot wait to try these new recipes. I got so excited to try new things, I ordered buckthorn berries through a wild ingredient website and found them to be very different and loved the tartness of them. Although, I do wish I had access to 40% fat cream, 36% is as high as I can find (if it’s even listed on the carton) as I live in the US, so, that’s what I use. But because of the lower fat content, ganaches aren’t as stable as I would like for my macarons, as it tends to be a bit more wet than I’d like, but they work great for cakes and cupcakes. Also, I love that the recipes are all in weight measurements, making it super easy to get the right amounts, every time. Thank you Manuela!

5/5Improve your ability to bake!
I have been baking for quite some time now and I rarely find a baker whose recipes consistently give me amazing results. This is the case for Love, Manuela because whether the recipe is on the easier side or more difficult she gives so many details that you don’t have to worry about not understanding a step of the recipe because it’s so explicit. She has so many sources that not only allow you to follow her recipes exactly, but also you gain new skills and techniques that make you a better baker. This is truly an amazing app and I recommend it to anyone who loves baking and wants to broaden their recipe book and improve on the skills they have!

5/5LOVE, LOVE this app!!!
Everything I have tried in her app, has been so delicious. Ingredients are somewhat hard to find in my area, but ohhh so worth finding and using what she says to use. I’ve always hated butter cream frosting on cakes and now I don’t have scrape off the frosting. Thanks to her app I can now, enjoy the cake as a whole. My favorite so far is the Salted Caramel Ganache and Mousse both are so delicious, not overly sweet just melt in our mouth. I could eat it by the spoonful lol. The app is great value, super smart idea app instead of a book I think. There is more than just sponge cake and frosting but I’ve not tried them yet.
