Linky 6.2 allows to make better Text Shots with two big new features: making text highlights and customizing the visual appearance. Open the editor by tapping on the Text Shot thumbnail in the message composer. Here is what you can do: ∙ Making text highlights: Swip over the text to highlight the parts you want people to pay attention to. You can make multiple highlights and choose between different colors. Selecting the text is easy and fast because unlike a manual selection character by character, the selection is done by words. This is made possible by prior analysis of the text to determine the language and split it into sentences and words. Once an initial selection is done, swiping the lower or upper bound moves the selection character by character so that it can be adjusted precisely if needed. ∙ Customizing the appearance: Adjust the style between white, sepia, gray and black variants. Choose the text font and adapt other settings to make the Text Shot you like. Choose the highlighted style: make it plain or select the natural style that uses a random highlighter texture varying with each line of text. ## OTHER IMPROVEMENTS: - Added 2 new items in the tips gallery: “how to create universal music links” and “how to share to Messages, Mail and third party apps.” - The application is now built using Swift 5 which reduces the app size by more than 40% on iOS 12.2+. - Fixed Universal Music Links initiated from Apple Music app. - Fix user interface glitches in the message composer. - Removed Songwhip provider (Universal Music Links) due to an incompatibility introduced with recent changes in Apple Music.

- Improved url extraction when sharing from News app. - Improved analytics tags stripping from shared URLs (Google Analytics UTM parameters, …).

Fixed a crash that could occur when launching the message composer.

This update adds support for iOS 13 and Dark Mode. # Bug Fixes: - Fixed title parsing with Universal Music Links. - Fixed issue where signing in with decentralised.social (Mastodon instance) would fail. # Other Changes: - Removed 1Password dedicated button in sign-in sheets because it's now built-in in iOS. - Linky now requires iOS 12.4 or later.

Updated bit.ly url shortener integration for future proofing.

- Added support for new iPhone (late 2020) screen sizes. - Added support for new Photos privacy permissions introduced in iOS 14. - Added support for extracting the text, links and pictures from Twitter tweet URLs. - In order to have more transparency with clipboard usage, Clipboard Detection is now an opt-in preference that you can enable by going to “Settings > Clipboard Detection”. Like before, Clipboad Detection allows to check your clipboard for URLs and pictures to help you quickly add them to your messages. Like before, these checks only happen on your device and the clipboard content is not sent anywhere. Linky will ask if you want to turn on the feature when upgrading to this version. # OTHER - Fixed a bug where the title and the picture could not be extracted from YouTube URLs. - iOS 13+ is now required.

- Added support for attaching an alternative text (alt-text) to the images. It works for both Twitter and Mastodon. To add an alternative text, tap on the image thumbnail to open the image editor -or- long press the image thumbnail and select the action in the contextual menu. As a side note, for Text Shots, the text in the image has always been automatically attached as an alternative text. This behavior doesn't change with this update. - Fixed a crash that could happen when attaching a large size photo in the Share Extension. - Added some optimizations for iOS 16.

# Improved Universal Music Links feature - Added the possibility to use Songwhip as an alternative to Songlink. Go to "Settings > Extension Settings > Universal Music Links" to choose your preferred service. - Linky now gets the short URL link for both Songwhip and Songlink. - Fixed a bug where song tracks links went to their corresponding album. # Other additions - Added a link to our Mastodon account in the settings. You can follow us at @[email protected]. - Fixed a bug that would prevent to add pictures with the webp format from the photos picker.

Added support for modern contextual menus with previews in the message editor: long-press the “Link”, “Title” or “Text Clip” buttons in the toolbar to get a quick preview.

- Added the ability to copy or share attached images: long press the image thumbnail and select the action in the contextual menu. - Modernized code base for future proofing. - Linky now requires iOS 15 or later.

This update removes Twitter integration from Linky. Twitter has changed its policy regarding third-party application access to its network and no longer provides a reasonable offer that would allow Twitter to continue to be integrated into Linky. We had no alternative but to remove Twitter support from Linky.

Fixed a bug that could prevent Linky being opened from Safari.

This version adds support for Bluesky and brings optimizations for Mastodon and iOS 17. - First-class integration of Bluesky with support for media cards, image attachments, and alt text. - The character limit for Mastodon now depends on the configuration of your instance (it is usually 500 characters, but not always). Note that it may take several hours to get the correct value in the user interface. - Makes some optimizations for iOS 17. Linky now requires iOS 16 or higher.

Resolved an issue with Bluesky accounts where sending messages accompanied by image attachments would fail.

Fixed a bug where posting a message containing a link to a Bluesky account could fail with an error.

• Reduce message length for Bluesky by replacing long URLs with compact ones — just like the official Bluesky app does. • Privacy has been improved by no longer relying on Firebase/Crashlytics for anonymous feature analytics and crash reporting. Anonymous crash reports are now handled through iOS’s built-in mechanism (user opt-in), and feature analytics has been completely removed. • The app, which was already lightweight, has been further reduced in size by 32%, going from 12.5 MB to 8.5 MB.
